Who Loves College Football

Cal has outscored its opponents 104-10... good start, lets just hope in can continue. Wouldn't think 8-4 record and 20-25 ranking as out of the question for the year.

My family members are starting to laugh at me, especially since we are going to see Michigan play on Saturday. Robinson is for real,

If he can stay healthy Michigan will be hard to beat. Not looking forward to when Purdue plays him. He may get 1000 yards!

Well, my LSU Tigers had another horrible game on Saturday. My Carolina Panthers also had a terrible game on Sunday. It looks like I will be in for a long football season.
I will still be cheering both teams on, though. :thumbsup2

Headed of to WDW in a few hours, it will be interesting how I will be able to catch a number of games or at least keep track of the scores.

Go Spartan's, Boiler-Up

They won 27 to 3 over Vandy. How is that a horrible game? My son and I were there. My son is the LSU finatic. He said they aren't playing as well as he liked but a win is a win.

I'm going to the MD - WVU game this weekend! After how dismal WVU did in the Marshall game I'm a wee bit nervous.

Next up will be LSU.

They are not playing as tough and physical as they normally play (and as they are expected to play, to be honest). Yes, they won, and a win is a win. However, they are not playing well. If they continue playing the way they have played in their last two games, then we are in for a long season. The SEC competition is going to be fierce, and they will not keep pulling off these miracle wins.

ME!!!!!!!!!!! GO BULLS!!!! University of South Florida!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

After talking with my son last night about this he totaly agrees with you. He said they are not being agressive enough to last the season. Either way I know what channel his TV is going to be on on Saturdays;)

Oh yes, we will continue to watch and cheer them on too. We are not fair weather fans. However, it is a bit disheartening to see them play poorly.
BTW, that goes for both of our teams -- LSU and Carolina Panthers.

What, no posts yet about yesterday's games???

The only one I watched was the Notre Dame/Michigan State game. It was a thriller!!

What a gutsy call - fake field goal in overtime!! :scared1:

As for my Iowa Hawkeyes, well, all I can say is that going to Arizona in September is never a good idea. :sad2:

And special teams will kill you. :headache:

And what happened to the offensive line? :confused3

I took my family to the Michigan/U of Mass. game on Sat. . Michigan eked out a victory but I thought that Rich Rod was going to explode on the sidelines. We then went back to the hotel and watche Florida/Tennessee. The Gators have me worried. Their offence is TERRIBLE. I do not think that John Brantley is the man that they think he is. But...Go Gators!

I come from a house divided... Dh = Michigan, epcotprincess = MSU.

When they aren't playing each other, we always root for each other's respective teams no matter who they're playing. We're nice to each other like that. :)

When they DO play each other, we just don't talk about it. Or, should I say, DH won't talk to me about it after the last 2 years. :rotfl:

Although we are nice about supporting each other's teams, I will admit that there is one team we both hate, hate, hate. For MANY reasons. But I won't say who they are!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Needless to say, we were both blown away by the awesome fake out on ND yesterday... WOW! :yay: :woohoo:

Cal got absolutely destroyed by Nevada. It was not fun to watch.. We just couldn't stop them. Very frustrating game.

The Pac 10 is STACKED this year. I may go out and say we are the the 2nd best conference TOP to BOTTOM after the SEC.

ACC? We know they suck
Big East? Not a factor
Big 10? Pac 10 is better. Our supposed #9 team in the Pac 10 (Zona St) nearly beat #11 ranked Wisconsin. Arizona, who is at least behind the Oregons in Pac 10 ranking, best Iowa. Plus USC beat Minnesota. so Pac 10 is better.
Big 12? Oklahoma was having trouble with Air Force. Also with Utah State. Now Nebraska did beat down Washington, but Washington is bottom feeder of Pac 10. The top of the Big 12 may be better than Pac 10 outside of Oregon. But the bottom of the Big 12 sucks compared to the Pac 10 who really only has 1 whipping boy (Washington State).

Conference rankings through Week 3 (teams in top 25):
SEC (6)
Pac 10 (5)
Big 12 (3)- 6/7/8
Big 10 (6)- but 3 are 21-25
Mtn West (2)
Big East (1)
ACC (1)
WAC (1)

Looking foward to next week:

WE ARE ALL BEAVER FANS!

Week 4 NCAA Preview or... WE ARE ALL BEAVER FANS!

So why root for Oregon State? Simple. Are you a fan of a team in the SEC? Big 12? Pac 10 or Big 10? Then you are a Beaver fan on Saturday. If you want your 1-loss team that goes through the gauntlet of a real conference? Then you need to be a Beaver fan. Oregon State features the last real hope of Boise State losing. So when #24 Oregon State takes on #3 Boise State... Root for Oregon State.

We get 4 ranked-ranked match-ups this week.
#3 Boise State vs #24 Oregon State
#1 Alabama vs #10 Arkansas
#22 West Virginia vs #15 LSU
#12 South Carolina vs #17 Auburn

Other games of interest...
#5 Oregon vs Arizona State
UCLA vs #7 Texas
#8 Oklahoma vs Cincinnati
#16 Stanford vs Notre Dame

It will be a great week, plus we get a decent Thursday night game with #19 Miami (FL) vs Pitt

Cheering for Oregan State won't be based upon what a Boise State lose will do to help our conference or any other conference, in our house. For us it's based on the fact that we like the play and back story of the Rodgers brothers.

Go Jacquizz and James!!!!

Well, LSU looked a bit better this past Saturday. That was encouraging! :thumbsup2
My Panthers, on the other hand, looked worse this past weekend!

For all of you Notre Dame fans, it was made official here yesterday. Our coach said that Jimmy Clausen will be the starting quarterback next Sunday. I do not know what to think. I have heard so many mixed reports about him. I guess we will just watch and see. I guess it cannot be any worse than what we've experienced these last two games.

ROLL TIDE!!

The Bama and Arkansas game should be a good one.

This looks like a good time to grill some pork!!

DH is a Notre Dame fan and he is still picking Cinci over the Panters on Sunday. I posted it before, we were not Clausen fans when he was at ND and we sure aren't fans of his in the pros. Maybe some day, he'll make us have to eat our words, but for now it's not gonna happen.

For all you MSU fans.....here's wishing your coach as speedy recovery. What a weekend for him. Major gutsy call in OT, then a heart attack hours later.
