Such a stupid name. We're planning on getting the TIW (ugh) card in December and I almost don't want get it so I don't have to use such a ridiculous name. Almost. I'll still get it because I like saving money on alcohol. LOL.

I voted for option #3. It needed a new name, people constantly confused it with the DDP. However, the new name is just ... not great. :sad2:

I'll have to think about what my suggestion might be...Maybe "Dining Around the World?"

Wow, after 60 votes, only 5% actually like the new name. I expected it wouldn't get many votes, but thought it would be more in the 25% range.

Keep voting! :teacher:

Sure you save 20% off of select places but no matter how many people is in your group even if its just you there is a automatic 18% tip so they might as well just tell people they save only 2% off their meal...bad idea this tables in wonderland or dde whatever they call it you are only saving 2% you are better off purchasing a annual pass and you'll save 10% on selected restaurants and on some places you'll save 10% on shopping much better deal

I like the name, it is very "Disney". Not sure why so many ppl are taking it so hard that a program name has been changed. :confused3

I had posted about the name for the DDP should have changed. I would have liked DDE to stay the same, so I voted, "If it ain't broke..."

I thought DDP should be renamed the "Magical Meal Plan" after I saw someone through out "Magical Menus" as a DDE name alternative.

I figured the Disney Dining Plan is a meal plan, and throwing "Magical" in front of it sounded very Disney. Offer the MMP - Basic and the MMP - Deluxe, and heck, even keep the MMP - Wine Package add on.

I just cringe thinking about Tables in Wonderland. It screams for the word "groovy" to be bandied about somewhere. :hippie:

I don't care for the new name either. I think they could have come up with something better.

I don't like the new name and I don't understand how it remotely relates to anything Disney.

It would have been a cute name for an Alice in Wonderland / Mad Hatter Tea type of event, but as a name for a property-wide dining discount program I feel like I'm missing a link in the logic chain.

I can't say it any better so I won't bother to try ... very nice!!!

(where is a clapping smilie when you need one anyway?)

It's a discount card. I don't care what it's named. I bring out a card, present it to a server, and get my discount. For this I should be concerned about a name?

I normally just include it with my KTTW card when I pay, but I do vaguely recall that the fine print says that you are supposed to let your server know before that. The memory is hazy, though.

Unless they ask me specifically for it (which I can't recall ever happening) I do not mention it until payment. That is the point at which they need to get a manager to approve the discount anyway.

I was just getting ready to send for my card when I read that you can pick it up at any guest services. Do you still have to call and order it?

Sorry for the change in direction--so here's my vote:earboy2:
I think they changed it to a weird name to see how many of us would actually say it !!!

No need to order in advance. Just go to guest services, present your AP or FL Pass, pay for the DDE (or TiW) card, and it will be issued on the spot.

On another board, we've taken to calling it "BOB"---the "Break on Booze" card.
Bwwaaahh. We always call it the Magic Card, as it magically reduces the prices of the wine. Don't mind a name change, but think they could have done better. FWIW.
