Thank you :)

I think this trip I preferred the MK at night since you couldn't see all the construction. The construction did take away a tiny bit of magic for me.

What a nice way to think of his call. Thank you. Caitlin talked to him last weekend and he is continuing to do well but eager to get home :)

The Jungle Cruise at night is a lot of fun and I hope you can do it on a future trip! You'll really like it :)

You know in all the years of going to D* and living in Florida (nearly 11), I have never ridden the Jungle Cruise. Definitely on the list in just a few shorts days!

Hi! Wow your trip is really close! I hope you have a great time and make sure you ride the Jungle Cruise this time :thumbsup2

Joining in! Seems like you guys had a great first night!

:wave2:Hi! Thanks for joining us! We did have a great first day and night!
We're moving kind of slow on this TR because Caitlin is swamped at school this semester so we hope everyone sticks around! :goodvibes

Hi. I'm following you over from another DIS'er, and I'm glad I did. I love how you and your daughter are both doing the TR!

My trip in January will be the first time I will be accessing the parks at night. I agree - there's something magical about there at a later hour. Since we'll have 10 park hopper days, we should have a lot of opportunities. (Our trip is 2 weeks in all - so several days of relaxing in between the 10 days.)

Looking forward to more of your TR... :surfweb:

Hi! We're so glad you're joining us! :goodvibes What part of Michigan are you from?

A week vacation, how wonderful!! Dale can never get off more than a week at a time so 7 nights is our max.

Hopefully Caitlin will be doing an update later today :)

Hey everyone! Sorry we are going slow! I recently joined the mock trial team at EMU and it has taken over my life! Throw 5 classes on top of that and every day is spent doing some kind of homework!

So enough of my rant let's get to the reason why we are all here!

Day 2

I woke up early at 6 and headed to the gym. We had set up a routine with me going to the gym I would go to the gym then get breakfast for everyone from the bakery. It sounded like a good idea before we left but then I found out how far away our room was from everything  Before I left I opened up my Tink gift for the day and received a special mini vinylmation!

Anyway I went to the gym and had a very good work out!

disneysummer2010174.jpg

disneysummer2010175.jpg

The one thing I didn't like was how weirdly labeled the weights were on the machines :confused3 the weights I could usually do were much heavier on some machines and much lighter on others :confused3

After my work out I headed on to the bakery and took a photo shoot of the resort in the early morning hours.

This pic was for my dad he loves Jessica Rabbit

I really want to buy this some day!

I grabbed breakfast and headed back to our room.

After I passed out the food and took pictures of it (of course) we all got ready for our morning at DHS!

disneysummer2010199.jpg

My mom had the carrot cake which she liked but said it was too sweet for the morning

disneysummer2010200.jpg

I had this it was amazing! It was a mickey shaped blueberry muffin and it tasted sooo good!

disneysummer2010201.jpg

This was my dad's and he enjoyed it as well!

We walked to DHS this morning and from our room it wasn't that bad of a walk only 10 minutes!

We saw some beautiful sights on our way to DHS!

Once we got there and were going through the bag check one of the security gaurds gave me a sticker!!!!!

disney20102002.jpg

Only in Disney do I get super excited about a sticker

We took pictures to kill time before park opening

disneysummer2010303.jpg

We waited in line for a while and were eventually let in to the park!

disneysummer2010304.jpg

disneysummer2010305.jpg

I just love the rope drop at DHS! Being able to say "HOLLYWOOD HERE WE COME!" just gives me excited chills!!

After we were let in we made the TSM mad dash

disneysummer2010306.jpg

and walked onto the ride :thumbsup2

I kept having to stop to take pics of HMs

disney20102005.jpg

Finally we got on the ride!

disney20102007.jpg

Wheezy is my favorite I just love penguins!

I had a great time looking for Hidden Mickeys on this ride!

disney20102011.jpg

disney20102006.jpg

Unfortunately this led to me having a low score and my dad ended up winning the first ride :sad2:

While I took some pics with an army man my dad went and got fast passes so we could ride later!

disney20102012.jpg

I loved my interaction with this army man! He called me sergeant stripes! They were all very in character and he made the son in the family before us do push ups for not smiling for the picture!

disney20102013.jpg

After TSM I wanted to go find Hidden Mickeys on my favorite DHS ride the Great Movie Ride! This one was outside of the theater!

disney20102014-1.jpg

I know a lot of people don't like this ride and believe it is outdated but I just  it! It is the history of movies and let's be honest these are classics! There aren't many movies that could be put in here that have had as big an impact as these have. Yes some children might not get the references but eventually they will and I haven't seen all of these movies and I still love it! I would be very upset if they were to change any part of this ride :guilty:

Hidden Mickey!

disney20102018.jpg

Hidden Mickey feet!

disney20102019.jpg

I just hate it when we get a girl as the gangster it just ruins the historical accuracy of the ride :sad2: Bugsy is not a girl

After my favorite ride we all headed over to the Tower of Terror!

disneysummer2010311.jpg

disneysummer2010312.jpg

I also love this ride but didn't take any pics since I took so many on our last trip

I was so excited that they still had the SummerNightastic effects on the ride! They show a picture of your car at the end and then show everyone disappear! OoOoOoO spooky! I loved it!

After we got off the ride I took pictures

HM!

disneysummer2010315.jpg

We went on our way to get a snack but I had to stop and buy a mini vinylmation

disney20102032-1.jpg

Isn't it cute?!

We then got a pretzel to share since we were already hungry from our breakfast

disney20102033-1.jpg

disney20102037-1.jpg

After we ate we headed over to the RNRC area but unfortunately the line was too long :headache:

disneysummer2010318.jpg

disneysummer2010319.jpg

I can't justify waiting in line longer than 10 minutes for this ride since I already know the entire script to the pre show video

We still had a while before our lunch ADR so what would we do next? Hmm I think I smell strawberries.....

I also love the Great Movie Ride! I agree-- I love that they preserve the classics! DBF got so excited on our first trip during the Singin in the Rain scene!

Wow, it certainly looks like you were up early since it's still dark outside in the photos. And ummm, that clown slide, even freakier at night I think. I do think the water slide disquised as the wooden coaster is cool.

That bakery looks yummy. Are you getting a cupcake for a snack? Because those are divine at Starring Rolls.

Wow, I can't believe you went to the gym every morning in Disney. I have a hard enough time working out when I'm home. And it was still dark out. You rock:thumbsup2

What a cute blueberry muffin. Everything looks so good at the bakery.

Clowns don't scare me and we are considering BWV for a few days on our next trip but the pictures of the clown with the eyes lit up are a little creepy.

We skipped the movie ride last trip b/c I know DD want recognize anything.:confused3 I really want to ride it on our next trip. I don't remember ever having a girl gangster? Or a cowboy. It has always been a male gangster everytime I rode it. It should definitely be a guy though.

I  TOT.

Great update!

Nice update!
I love the shot of the DHS entrance from across the lake!

As for GMR, I've always thought that instead of genres of movies, they should do landmark movies.
That is, like the first talking picture or pictures leading to major advancements in technology or cinema.
It could include movies like Star Wars and Steamboat Willie to go with classics like Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, and Indiana Jones.

Another thought would be that since the park is no longer MGM Studios and now Disney Hollywood Studios, use Disney movies.
Or even better, how about Disney movies that we don't see anymore:
The opening could be Steamboat Willie.
The gangster scene could morph into Roger Rabbit.
The western scene could go Frontierland and transform into Davey Crockett.
Tarzan becomes Jungle Book.
The space scene is now The Black Hole.
The Horror sequence can be The Black Cauldron,
Indiana Jones can be an underwater sequence with 20,000 Leagues.
How cool would an underwater scene be?
And if Disney really does do an Oz sequel as rumored, they can keep the Oz scene.

A third idea would be to go back and dust off the plans for a Great Muppet Movie Ride which was in the works for some time.
That would be awesome!
