~!Who knew you could relax in Disney?~Mother/Daughter Tr~5/2 May Trip Plans Days 5-8

My first post on these boards here. I have been following this board for a while. I love the way you two tell a story. Killer points of view. Fun reading look forward to the next one.

One question: is this the deluxe with the great pool? and if so what makes that one so grand?

Sorry, still learning the Disney speak and stuff. haha.

Thank you for having your first post here!!!!!

Thank you!

This is the pool with the clown slide and it is one of the bigger slides which is what makes it so cool! The pool also has a circus type theme and has a bunch of elephants surrounding the area :cutie:

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

I think you are thinking of the pool at the Beach Club (which is where we stayed the second half of our trip)

The BC pool is called "Stormalong Bay" and is huge (something like 3 acres)! It has several different sections including an area for floating in tubes, which are available to rent. Another way it's different is that it has a sandy bottom which feels great on the toes :) Lastly it has a really awesome slide. The slide comes off a "ship" that appears to have had a ship wreck on the beach.

Thanks for joining us! :)

Your room looks so pretty. I am so jealous you guys stayed in BWV and BCV. I hope to stay at either someday. I know DD and DH will most likely picked BC b/c of the pool, but the more I see of BW the more I want to stay there.

Ohana looks so good. I keep seeing so many negative reviews on the restaurant board and it is so sad. We had such a great meal there. I would have been happy with just noodles, wings and dessert:thumbsup2

Love the hula lessons. I don't remember them doing that or the coconut races when we were there. Maybe we weren't there long enough?

We just loved our room! Our dream resorts were BW and BC so we feel very lucky to have stayed there! The pool at BW is awesome as well I like the slide at BW better than the slide at BC but the sand at the bottom of the pools at BC is awesome!

I haven't ever heard of a bad Ohana review but our service was very slow so maybe lately people have experienced that :confused3 The food was very good this past time although the first time we were there I didn't enjoy it.

Hmm Idk I thought they always had those but we had to wait a while before the singing started this time. It just means you need to go back :thumbsup2

I didn't realize BCV doesn't have a Community Hall! Good to know for a future trip! Not that we have a BCV on the books, but ya never know. ;)

The pool made up for the lack of a community hall  I am not sure but I think you can still use the community hall at BWV if you are staying at BCV :confused3 a lot of the activities were the same for both places just the pool activities were different

Me too! They have been on sale online only the older series though.

Amen to that last part. They're so adorable! But I just can't get into collecting and trading them just yet. I'll stick with pins for now.

My kids are the ones that really like to collect and trade things , so when you have 3 kids to purchase one each for at $9.99 it gets very expensive ! When you could just get them a pin a piece at the outlet for $3.00 a piece lol

Great Update :thumbsup2

Your room was very pretty & what a nice view !

The Ohana food looks soo yummy , we have yet to try there dinner . Maybe in 3 years when we come back to the East Coast we will have to try it out . For now it's no to trying out Disneyland's offerings !

 the pictures of you and your Mom doing the Hula , it def looks like you two had a blast participating !

Today I had a play date with Henry at a friend's house and we came home to a package...Henry was beyond curious and loved the smiley stickers on the back of it. As we opened it he got more and more and more excited, and I did too! Thank you!!!!!!! What an AWESOME prize! Love my new mousepad! :cloud9: (and I truly needed a new one too!)

Henry was walking all over the house with the bag. :cutie:

I took some pics that I will post after I get them downloaded. :thumbsup2

Yeah I think the price is pretty crazy I wish it wasn't so expensive but then again it is Disney

Thank you! At first we were skeptical because we had to walk such a long way but after we saw outside our room we were very happy!

Ohana is very good and it just gives you something to look forward to!

Thank you we had an awesome time!

Aw yay! I am glad you liked your prize!!! I knew we had to throw something in there for Henry :cutie: Can't wait to see the pictures!

Hi girls....that room is gorgeous!! And O'Hana's ... what can I say about O'Hana's ... one of our favorites...made me hungry just looking at the pics....:cloud9:

Henry insisted on bringing the bag to dinner tonight! He was too cute walking down the sidewalk with that little bag!

Several of the pages in the coloring book have already been colored and my mousepad was almost stolen by him! :rotfl2: He thinks anything with Mickey's House is his! Is that a picture you guys took? It's just beautiful. It makes me soooooo happy when I see it! So much better than a boring gray one!

Aww I'm so glad you both liked your little prizes! :goodvibes

I love making photo gifts, it's kind of my hobby :) Yes that's a picture we took last year.

The more I see of the Boardwalk rooms, the more I want to stay there! And the view from your room was great!

Was this on Facebook? It looks familiar. :confused3 Anyway, I got a good laugh out of it! :lmao:

All the food at Ohana looks delicious, but this is what tempts me the most! :lovestruc

Boardwalk was such a nice hotel! I definitely wish I was there right now

It's my mom's favorite!!! Whenever she talks about WDW to anyone she always mentions it

When Caitlin left off we had just finished an amazing dinner at 'Ohana's and we were trying to decide what to do next. We debated watching the fireworks from the Poly beach and then heading over to the MK for EMH OR heading right over to the MK. We decided to skip the fireworks from the beach because we were concerned it might be hard to enter the park as the crowds were exiting.

Since we had ridden the monorail to get to the Polynesian we decided to take the boat over to the MK. (it's mandatory for us to use all the different modes of transportation on our trips ;))

As we made our way through the resort we passed this surfboard and Caitlin had to get a picture in anticipation of her surf lesson later on in the week.

We made our way outside and walked to the boat dock snapping pictures along the way....

Even though it was dark and almost 8:30 the pool area was still hopping...
disneysummer2010150-1.jpg

When we got to the dock a boat was waiting and we quickly boarded and set sail for our first visit,of the trip, to the Magic Kingdom!
disneysummer2010153.jpg

Our evening pics don't really do the resorts justice....
disneysummer2010159.jpg

You'll have to trust me when I say it was a beautiful ride over as we took in the lovely evening lights of the MK area resorts.

***continued in next post***

We soon arrived at the MK and were among the only ones arriving at that time so we were quickly through security. I had the brilliant idea  that we should hop on the train, and take it to the back of the park, to avoid the crowds on Main Street who were eagerly awaiting Wishes.

Ok kids, what's wrong with that plan?

If you said, "the train doesn't run that late" you are correct! Yes I should have remembered that instead of dragging them up the train platform but we did get a nice view of the castle :)

Look at all those people!

We decided to head toward Adventureland and cut through the shops along the way...

Dale couldn't resist taking pics of the windows
disneysummer2010280.jpg

I love how it looks like an aquarium with the water effect on top!

disneysummer2010281.jpg

Oh no! The time on the clock is almost midnight!

Once we were in the stores I spotted Duffy the Disney bear and seriously debated buying one. I didn't get one but after they announced he'll soon be appearing at Epcot, and they'll be selling different outfits for him from the Epcot countries, I know I won't be able to pass him up next year!
disneysummer2010283.jpg

Don't you just love the nighttime colors on the castle?!
disneysummer2010286.jpg

We were soon to our first destination....ADVENTURELAND!
disneysummer2010288.jpg

We passed up this ride because I can't do circular motion rides!
disneysummer2010289.jpg

Instead we opted to make an African cruise our first MK ride. We got lucky and were able to walk right on and we had a very cute and entertaining Skipper.

disneysummer2010291.jpg

We love doing the Jungle Cruise at night. It takes it to a different level and makes it just a little spooky (well for chickens like us it does ) While we were riding we could hear the fireworks going off and by the time we were finished Adventureland was empty.

We've never driven these little boats but Caitlin has it on her "to-do list"
disneysummer2010292.jpg

Since we were seeking adventure we decided to pay a visit to our favorite band of pirates and lucky for us we didn't have to wait to board!

We followed up our visit to the Carribean with rides on Big Thunder Mountain RR and the Haunted Mansion. All without waits! :cool1: In our excitement for all the walk-ons we apparently stopped taking pics so you'll just have to take my word on what we did

After visiting the 999 ghosts we decided to pay a visit to the 100Acre Woods. (I'll admit I hated seeing my alltime favorite IASW closed!) When we got to Pooh there was a bit of a wait, 7minutes, but it seemed much longer due to the people in front of us. It was 4 adults with 2 kids, a darling little girl of about 5 dressed as a princess and a baby boy about 18months. The little boy was on one of those "baby harnesses" (this is not a debate about parents who choose to use those) The problem was the way the father was using the harness, as a leash, to yank the baby around. He'd pull on it and the little guy would literally leave the ground and one time the little guy fell down from the force. We have 2 dogs and would not yank on their leashes that way so I hated seeing a baby treated like that. So after 7 stressful minutes we finally visited Pooh and the gang.

After Pooh,Caitlin wanted to ride Space Mountain. She had experienced the "new" ride in March and was eager to share it with her dad. I however was quite content to sit and people watch. When they got in line the sign said "15 minutes" and no sooner had they entered then the sign switched to 25 minutes which was exactly what it took them.

Since I wasn't riding I got stuck holding the camera bag and Caitlin's purse. While I was waiting her phone went off but I didn't want to answer it. Well went she got a second call from the same number I thought I better see who it was. It turned out it was her friend/exbf calling from Kuwait! (those of you who were in on our PTR might remember he deployed a week before our trip)
It was good to hear he was doing alright but rather sobering to be in the Magic Kingdom (of all places) talking to a young man serving overseas. He told me he'd try and call back but Caitlin didn't get to talk to him until the next day.

After Space Mountain we decided to go back to the resort and get some sleep. When we got to the bus stop the line for BW was HUGE! However, the BC/YC line was really short and had a bus waiting! Guess which line we chose?
Yep we took the bus to the YC and then walked over to the BW. Since our room was so far out the walk took 12 minutes which wasn't too bad and got us back much faster than if we'd had waited for the BW bus which we would have had to stand on IF we were able to board.

By midnight we were back in our room and in bed for our first sleep at the BWV :)

Up next time....a DHS morning

Sounds like a great night!
And I second the need to experience all modes of transportation! :thumbsup2

Did Caitlin and Dale rub it in that you forgot the fact that the WDW Railroad does not operate that late?
I'm sure my family would not let their insane Disney Dad live that one down. :lmao:

And I love Jungle Cruise at night!
I just tried it last year for the 1st time and now I always want to ride it at night.
It makes it a totally different experience!!
