Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

We walked across a little walkway and into another part of the building. Up in the rafters sat a little squirrel. He was so cute. Here's Hunter taking a picture of him:

We made our way back down so that other guests could enjoy the views from up top. More pictures of the fort and the island:

John peeked into the Guard house:

and this is what he saw:

102_4089.jpg

Looks like he and John would get along really well.:lmao:

There was one last thing we wanted to do while on the island and that was walk across the barrell bridge. I know! Simple pleasures!

102_4091.jpg

102_4092.jpg

Once we had done that, we were ready to join all the rest of the crowds in Frontierland. We started making our way towards the raft when we spotted this pretty little waterfall:

We also saw another dock that had rocking chairs on it and we decided to sit for a minute and people watch:

Now, I know I have a picture of John and I sittin' in the rocking chairs somewhere because I submitted it as a Disney Memory but I can't find it right now. Those rocking chairs were a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Ahhh, here's one of John resting his eyes:

***Up next: A little toe tappin', foot stompin' fun!

We've spent quite a bit of time on that island and always like it too. It does seem like a bit of a break! And you can't have an update without at least one picture of John sleeping:rotfl:

So glad things are working out well.

We've never done TSI, we really need to this trip. Looks like fun.

Love your Tom Sawyer Island pics. The details that Disney puts into everything continues to amaze me.

I love the shot of you looking down the barrel of the gun/cannon. That is really cool. I wish I could just take a trip by myself just to go and take pictures of anything and everything.

I'm so glad to hear some positive news about the health issues you have been dealing with this past week. I'm glad there is an advocate helping out with John's insurance and search for a neurologist. I hope everything with your Aunt works out. How are her spirits?

Great pictures from Tom Sawyers Island. This is one of Ben's favorites, we usually hit it later in our trip, after we have enjoyed the headliners. We make it onto the first raft, not to search for paintbrushes, but because the timing is usually good- we have had a couple of hours of touring time, it is right before we are ready for lunch, we are often waiting out a FP for Splash or BTM and it is COOLER at 10 am.

Great updates! I have never been to Tom Sawyer Island. That may be one for me to try when I'm on my own in May.
I'm so glad for you that John found another doctor & that he won't miss any of his medications. I hope your Aunt recovers quickly, too! :goodvibes

:laughing:Doesn't look like Hunter was too mortified with mom and dad kissing. Secretly he is glad you love each other enough to flaunt it in front of him.:rotfl2:

HM is such a difficult ride to take pics of. I am always shocked when you can actually tell what the picture is of.

Even with the rain it looks like your last day was off to a good start. I'll take rain over large crowds any day.

Prayers for your aunt and for John finding a new neurologist soon.

Hunter (and Lacey for that matter) should be used to us being all lovey dovey 'cause we've never been afraid to show how much we love each other. That being said, we also have no problem calling each other farthead or goofball or something similar.:lmao:

I don't know why I even try taking pictures inside the Haunted Mansion. I know they aren't going to turn out.:confused3

Thanks for the prayers!

Hope all your medical and non-medical issues get resolved quickly.

Sad that it's already your last day. I really have enjoyed your TR so far. Love the kissing pictures.

I see many great backsack patterns and colors. But I must resist, we just bought two new backpacks for our next Disney trip last fall. Haven't even been used yet!

It sounds like we are going to have our medical issues resolved soon.

I hate that it's my last day too. I've kept the Disney blues at bay by keeping this trip report updated.

As I was taking pictures of the backsacks, Lacey and I would say "If this one doesn't sell, I'm taking this one." and then, she'd put on another one and we'd say the same thing.:rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your aunt's medical problems, hops her surgery goes well.

My Hubby has seizures, too (since he was about 17 years old) and his neurologist left over the summer (he moved over to the sleep center) but luckily he had partners so one of them just took over Tim's case. I am a nurse so I understand frustration about insurance and trying to find new doctors, hope you are able to find someone soon.

Great Update! I love the HM. It's one of my faves, those tombstones and the Bluebeard monument (is that who it is with all the wives?) are so funny. I don't think I ever noticed those little bats on the conveyor.

Those backsacks are really cute! What kind of material are they?

Since your husband has seizures too and because you're a nurse, you know what a stressful time we are having right now. You can't just go without seizure medications. :scared1: Unfortunately, John's doctor is no longer in a partnership so we have to find somebody new. But, I am sure it will work out in the end.

The backsacks are made out of 100% cotton material so they will dry out quickly. I have several that I take with us when we go to the flea market, camping, etc. and I love them. It's so easy to just drop everything down in them and go.

I'm sorry to hear your aunt is sick. I hope everything goes well for her. I also hope you find another doctor for John in time. I'm keeping your family in my thoughts.

I love your pictures of MK! We always take that path around the river to thunder mountain too. I thought that was my secrete path!

Thanks Kathy! It looks like everything is going to work out with John's doctor situation. Now, we just have to continue to pray that my aunt's procedure goes well.

Looks like a few of us use the "secret path" around the river.;)

I really love the pictures of a soggy Frontierland! Is that strange??

I think I need that Mickey jingle bell door decoration for my house! :goodvibes

We had to buy batteries in the MK once....I feel your pain! But...sometimes you just do what ya gotta do!

Not strange at all! I don't mind it when it rains at Disney so long as everybody keeps moving along and we aren't stuck somewhere with stinky people. :rolleyes1

I've thought about making one of the Mickey jingle bell door decorations. I saw a similar one at the DTD Christmas store that was wrapped in some type of rope. I took pictures of them so I could remember to try and make one of them.

I guess I could have done without the batteries but I am always afraid that I might miss a picture of something.

Hey! I almost bought that door hanger this weekend! But then I thought, hmmm, how hard could it be to make something like that? So, I'm going to give it a try. Eeek!

:lmao:

I talked to my DH last night about John needing to find another neurologist. Neurology is one of the practices that my DH is administrator for at one of our local hospitals and he said that he could do some checking for you, as well, if you wanted him to. He has access to a lot of neurologists that probably know of some in LA.

Let me know and I can have him check around!!!

Let me know how the door hanger project goes. I've been thinking about making one myself. I even bought a pattern when Hobby Lobby put them on sale for 99 cents.

Oh you are too sweet to ask your husband about a neurologist. I hope that we have the situation worked out for now.

I hope you can get a new Dr for John ASAP. It's such a pain.
And I hope your Aunt does well. I know how hard a surgery is on an older person. They just don't spring back as well, but hopefully she has your families strength.

I love your MK day. Just take it all in and do whatever.

My aunt is fairly spry for her age so we are hoping that she does well with the surgery. Once they get the biopsy on her thyroid done, we'll know how well she deals with the anethesia. I think that's the main worry right now.

I like going to the Magic Kingdom twice in one visit. That way, we can take things slowly and, like you said, "take it all in and do whatever".

Enjoying your updates from your last day at MK. What a great trip!

I am so sorry to hear about all of the turmoil and health issues- like the others, I'm thinking good thoughts for your family.

Here's our kissing picture- the boys' expressions say it all!

Photo0294.jpg

Those are great pictures of the two of you and the three of you!

I remember laughing at that picture. Poor boys! What we do to embarrass our kids but, that's part of the parenting job.:thumbsup2 As a matter of fact, I think it's on page 142 of the parenting manual they gave me when I had my first.:lmao:

Well, all that news sounds very promising! Hopefully your Aunt does well too.:flower3:

Carey

We were so happy to hear that we will be getting a new doctor soon.

Great news about the doctor for John and the meds. I'm sure that is a huge relief.

I'll keep your Aunt in my prayers as she undergoes her biopsy. :goodvibes

Thank you so much! The biopsy is today and we'll see how well she does with the anesthesia. Hopefully, she does great.

This picture is awesome! Captures the feeling of TSI.

I love your pics of the fort...especially the views of BTMRR. Very nice!

And thanks for the shout out! So glad I could be helpful! ;)

Oh I've shouted out your name on many threads asking about Tom Sawyer Island. We always knew there was a fort there somewhere but didn't know how to find it.

We've spent quite a bit of time on that island and always like it too. It does seem like a bit of a break! And you can't have an update without at least one picture of John sleeping:rotfl:

John can fall asleep anywhere and the rocking chairs were the perfect plan for a little shut-eye.

So glad things are working out well.

We've never done TSI, we really need to this trip. Looks like fun.

Me toooooo!

You need to take the raft over to the island. It's a nice respite from the crowded park.

Love your Tom Sawyer Island pics. The details that Disney puts into everything continues to amaze me.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Well, the part about the details that Disney puts into everything. I'm constantly amazed by it too.

I love the shot of you looking down the barrel of the gun/cannon. That is really cool. I wish I could just take a trip by myself just to go and take pictures of anything and everything.

Thank you! I liked that one too. I try to remember to take some "different" pictures while at Disney but often forget to.

I'm so glad to hear some positive news about the health issues you have been dealing with this past week. I'm glad there is an advocate helping out with John's insurance and search for a neurologist. I hope everything with your Aunt works out. How are her spirits?

My aunt seems to be in good spirits. I told my Mama that I was glad they didn't really give her a choice about the surgery. It's one of those things that she either does it or she dies.

We've searched for the paintbrushes before but have never found them. Have you?

Great updates! I have never been to Tom Sawyer Island. That may be one for me to try when I'm on my own in May.
I'm so glad for you that John found another doctor & that he won't miss any of his medications. I hope your Aunt recovers quickly, too! :goodvibes

April, you really need to get over to the island. You take amazing pictures and it's a great place for picture taking.

Thanks for all the pictures of Tom Sawyer Island. We have never taken the kids over there, but now I will have to put it on the agenda next trip.:goodvibes

Thanks for all the pictures of Tom Sawyer Island. We have never taken the kids over there, but now I will have to put it on the agenda next trip.:goodvibes

It took us years before we went over to the island but, now, we do it every trip. Just remember to find the fort....just keep going left.:thumbsup2

Great updates! we need to take Ashton to Tom Sawyer Island this year; I know he would love it! Dayne did at his age.

Happy to hear you were able to find a doctor and prayers your Aunt will do well with the procedure, and your boss I hope his meds agree with him soon.

 Connie

I was pages behind! Tons of updates, yet I only had one email notification that you had updated! :confused3 I am so glad to hear that John is able to get his medication and that you found a doctor! :yay: I'll be keeping your aunt in my prayers-what a scary situation.

Wonderful pictures of MK! I'm really excited about your TSI pictures because we plan to take Henry there so he can run around and explore. I think Joe and I found the fort when we explored it in 2006, but I don't remember there being "people" and "animals" there! Very cool. Henry is just going to love that - and the guns.

Love the kissing pics! :cutie: Hunter rolls his eyes, but inside, I'm CERTAIN he is happy that his parents are so deeply in love. It's rare nowadays. You two are awesome! :thumbsup2

Great update!!!!!! I am so glad you got photobucket to start working. I love the pictures of Hunter and the Indian. I also love the picture he took of Splash mountain.

Any your kissing pictures - Priceless!

Now I am going back to check to see if I missed any other updates!

Oh MY ....I did miss a lot. See what happens when I don't DIS for a few days. I don't miss just one update. I miss like 4. :rotfl2:

Glad your boss is feeling better, although the elephant on the chest does not sound good.

Glad John is able to get his meds.

Love the pictures that you took of TSI. You have helped me decide that I am definitely going over there in May. It's been years since I have visited that island and its too good of a picture opportunity to miss again. You got some great shots.

Love BTM. That is one of my favorite rides.

Wow - it really poured. Thank goodness for ponchos!!!!!

We've searched for the paintbrushes before but have never found them. Have you?

We have never found one. My brother and his kids found one 3 years ago- he said it was right out in the open. We never really search. I look around on our way to the fort and while we are exploring, but just in passing.

TSI looks pretty cool....I have not been there since I was a kid. I had hoped to do it on the last trip but we didn't make it. I thought Keith may like it and after seeing your pictures, I think he would enjoy taking a little raft trip! I definitely want to find the fort....I will have to remember to "go left"! :thumbsup2

Hopefully all medical issues will continue to work themselves out! that can add so much stress to your life!!
