Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

Hi, Lisa

Just dropping in to say hello, just got caught up tonight. The snow has been brutal here and the U of I seems to think all the snow needs to be removed . My wife is leaving tomorrow for WDW for a long weekend to meet her best friend from high school and I'm happy for her . I get to stay home with the kids:thumbsup2. Cheddars has the best Chicken strips and onion rings of any chain restaraunt around.

Just wanting to move this report to the top. As I stated above my wife is at WDW right now will be home tonight 2-14-11:lovestruc. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, the dining cards crashed on Sunday morning for about 2 hours and when it came back on line my wife and her friend had lost 3 snack credits. At this time nothing has been done about it and from what my wife can gather its has happened before in the past week. Just an FYI.

Oh no! I hate to hear that. I wonder if they will be able to get their credits back by showing their receipts?

Sorry I didn't get back on before now. But, we've had a few things happen the last few days that had my mind preoccupied.

My mother's sister who is in her 80s has been diagnosed with a rare condition that requires surgery to correct. Over the last few months, she has lost about 50 pounds and nobody could figure out why. After several tests, they now know that she has a deformity in her esophagus. She has a pocket in her esophagus that is catching about 95% of the food that she eats. Only 5% is going straight to her stomach therefore she is getting no nutrients in her body. The other 95% that is stuck in the pocket just seeps out as it gets full. Her esophagus is also starting to shrink in size and if this, along with the pocket, are not corrected soon, she will starve or choke to death. We are waiting on the doctor to get with the surgeon to schedule the surgery.

Given her age, they are a bit afraid of putting her to sleep but there really is no other choice. If all goes well, she will go to the surgery center, have the procedure done, stay overnight and then go home the next day.

Our next big surprise was another whopper! John's neurologist has decided to close her practice after 20+ years. She has been John's doctor for 19 years now and we are stressing out trying to find another doctor to see him. Many years ago, John received a brain injury on the job. He now has brain damage and suffers from epilepsy. Because it was an on-the-job injury, he is covered by worker's compensation insurance. We can't get private insurance on him because he has a pre-existing condition and because he is covered by another insurance.

Anyway, we have 30 days from last Friday to find another neurologist who will accept worker's compensation. That's really hard to do since a healthcare provider who accepts worker's comp has to accept what insurance pays and they can't bill us for anything above and beyond that. Needless to say, not many doctors want to accept this type of insurance.

I've been going nutso trying to find somebody to take a new epilepsy patient in the next 30 days. The thirty day mark is extremely important since we only have enough seizure meds to last 30 days from last Friday. I have the worker's compensation company adjuster working on getting John and appointment and I can do nothing further right now 'cept pray.

To add a little more stress to my workday, my boss came in this morning and said that he had to drive himself to the emergency room last night. He thought he was having a heart attack. They did tests and said they can't rule out a heart attack but they think it was a panic attack. My last boss used to suffer panic attacks once every three of four months. Working in a law office that specializes in family law (divorce, custody, support, etc.) is not the least stressful of places.

Soooooooooo, that's why I haven't been back to post more of our Magic Kingdom day. However, I hope that I can rectify that later today. I'm trying my best to push my boss out the door and on his way home.

Sorry to hear about all your issues. My Dad is 54 and has to go to the hospital quite often because of chest pains and every couple of years has a heart attack or stroke or mini stroke.on saturday we had to go to the ER and then to Indianapolis Heart Center for a hear cath (which happens every 2-4 months and we are thankful that nothing was blocked and it was just his meds that needed adjusted. I will be praying for your boss/friends/family for you.

Oh my gracious! I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Last week, my boss had complete blood work done and they changed up the dosage on one of his meds. I'm betting that's what screwed him up.

Thank you for your prayers!

The plan for our last full day at Disney was to visit the Magic Kingdom which is a vacation tradition for us. Mama had decided that she was going to sleep in and relax at the resort until sometime in the afternoon when we would go back and get her.

We arrived at the park a little after park opening. I was through bag check in no time and we were soon walking under the train station and down Main Street:

In this picture, you can see all of the tarps on the buildings on the left side of Main Street:

See how the sky looks cloudy in this next pic?

I wanted to have our picture taken in front of the castle and John and I had said, prior to our arriving that day, that we wanted it to be a picture of the two of us kissing. We knew that this would probably embarrass the heck out of Hunter and that's why we wanted to do it. The Photopass photographers were super busy that morning. While we were waiting, I took a picture of Hunter wiping an imaginary tear from the Indian's eye:

And then trying to sneak his knife away from him:

SANY3727.jpg

We walked a bit further down Main Street because there was a Photopass photographer there that didn't seem to be quite as busy as the others. We waited a few minutes and then it was our turn. We told the photographer that we wanted a picture of us kissing in front of the castle and Hunter just shook his head:sad2:. That really made John want to ham it up. I don't know if I should post the first picture the photographer took or not. Let's just say that the kiss the photographer captured wasn't an "American" kiss. John had his tongue stuck out (not down my throat or anything) and the photographer clicked at just the right time! I squealed and even Hunter laughed. So did the others around us, one of those being my fellow Louisiana residents whom I had meet at Hollywood Studios. Her husband was laughing at John and said "That's the way we do it in Louisiana!". :lmao:

Then, we got even more tickled, John did some little move like he was going to dip me and this is the picture they got :upsidedow:

I knew that I wasn't going to like the looks of that one so I asked for just one more try:

Photo0799.jpg

The Photopass photographer told Hunter to come on over and he snapped a picture of us all:

I introduced John to my new "friend" and the guys shook hands and we talked for just a few minutes. We bid them adieu and continued on into the park.

Continued in next post

We really weren't too sure what we wanted to do first so we ventured off towards Adventureland. Along the way, I took pictures:

As we got closer to Adventureland (by the way, when did they take the Adventureland sign and the tiki guy off this?)

SANY3731.jpg

...we decided to take a right and go across the bridge towards Liberty Square.

Hunter wanted to stop and have his picture taken in front of the Liberty Bell:

And I wanted to go off in search of a bathroom :rolleyes1:

Hunter took these while they were waiting on me to get back:

***Well, I need to stop here. I hate that I do because Photobucket is actually working right now. But, I have a few things I need to get off my desk before closing up shop for the day.

Up next: Explorin' the rest of Liberty Square and Frontierland!

Great Update, the pics of you and John are cute, the one of the 3 of you turned out nice too. I just bet Hunter was embarrassed!! Don't you know parents aren't supposed to act like that??

I hope things work out for John with a new Dr. I'll say a prayer for him and your family with all the medical stuff going on. Hope things are looking brighter very soon.

So funny that you tortured poor Hunter:lmao: I need to try that with my kids one of these days!

When it rains it pours, don't it! :sad2:
I hope your aunt's surgery & your doctor hunt goes well.
Love the kissing photos, shows a very happy family!

I always ask my kids this...do you want to have happy loving parents or do you want fuddy duddy parents. Then they realize that we're not so bad after all.;)

Thank you so much! I hope that everything starts to even out around here soon.

John really tortured Hunter that day. I couldn't believe that the Photopass guy captured the first one.

Doesn't it though! Thank you for the well wishes.

I love the shots of you and John in front of the castle! This year you need another shot of the three of you exactly like the above one except just before the snap you and John quickly steal a kiss on each cheek. That should not only be fun; but, just embarass Hunter just a touch.

so, sorry to hear about your aunt I pray all goes well with her surgery and that your boss doesn't have any more attacks (how scary)...
and, of course I pray John finds a doctor quickly!

Have a great evening!
 Connie

hard to believe that you are on the last day of your trip!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about John's doctor and wish you much luck in finding a replacement.

I've had quite a few people sending messages about my backsacks which excites me to no end because they are helping pay for our Disney vacation. Here's the latest batch of backsacks I made. Most of these could have a Mickey head placed on them in a coordinating color should you want one. In these pictures, we have a bath towel rolled up and placed in them and there was still plenty of room for more.

Just post or send a private message if you are interested in any of them.

Edited: Funny that you posted those pictures when I was posting also...but no fair posting more great patterns!

I will be so glad when we have all of our family "issues" settled. I hate it when things are up in the air.

Hunter just rolls his eyes at John and I when we kiss or hug. It could be worse....they could have parents who fight all the time.

I'm so happy that you two liked the backsacks. I have sold quite a few backsacks on the Dis and on ebay. The sales are helping to pay for my Disney vacation.:thumbsup2

Ooooh, that's a great idea! I like it!

I hope that all of our family issues get worked out very soon. I can deal with things once I know what's going on. It's all this unknown that drives me crazy!

Thank goodness I have another trip coming up soon or I'd go into withdrawals.:rotfl:

Thank yo ufor the well wishes. I know that we'll eventually get the doctor situation worked out but I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Good morning Lisa. I'm so sorry to hear about all the chaos in your family right now. They're not kidding when they say, 'when it rains, it pours'! I'll be praying for a quick resolution to the doctor problem for John and for your Aunt as well. And for you....to remain calm and have the patience to handle it all!

LOVE the kissing picture...embarrassing our children is what we LIVE for! I actually like the candid one better as it really captures the emotion of the moment!

I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day with your family! :lovestruc
