Who is Shadow?

I saw the little doggie house at HHI this past month. Who is Shadow? I never remembered to ask a CM! This mystery is along the lines of the definition of "Kungaloosh!" which I now understand...

Shadow is the gorgeous and wonderful golden retriever who lived on Longview Island before Disney built there. B'lou Crabbe makes weekly appearances with her and she is a big hit with all the guests.

She's mostly a part of the DHHIR lore, but she truly does exist. Sorry you missed her!

She was the hit of our New Year's trip 2 years ago. She is so freindly and they have a "meet and greet" with her in the community hall. She sat there and let 10-12 kids pet her and have their pictures taken with her. My DS still looks for her and he will be 13 next month!

DH insists that Shadow is as real as Santa Claus or Goofy. Even showing him a picture didn't convince him. We never saw Shadow at HH.

Doc, thanks for the great photos. I am sorry we missed meeting her -- my kids would have LOVED Shadow.

Hilton Head was wonderful and I am glad we took your advice here and stayed 3 nights. I would have happily stayed 3 more! I look forward to visiting again. It seemed perfect after all the exhausting "action" of WDW. My dh just said the other day, "Wouldn't it be nice to live down there?" This from a man whose eyes glaze over every time I talk about moving to Florida...
