Darlene Love sings "Today I Met The Boy I'm Gonna Marry" which was used in "Father of the Bride".
She also played Danny Glover's wife in the "Lethal Weapon" movies. :goodvibes

I think Darlene Love has one of the best voices in rock and roll.

There was a group called the Exciters in the 60s.... and I apologize but, I cant think of her name....but the lead singer had a killer voice too. She's the voice you hear on the songs Tell Him and He's Got The Power.

Darlene Love's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is one of the great songs...and I dont mean only Christmas songs.

I also love the song He's a Rebel. It's always in the top of the most frequently played songs on my ipod.

Every year when David Letterman has Darlene on , he always says her Christmas song is the only one worth playing...or something to that effect

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is one of my favorite Christmas songs! The remake of the song done by Hanson in the late 90s is on the loop of Christmas music we have playing at the store from turkey day to new years. It almost ruined this song for me!

I can't believe that someone else love's He's a Rebel! It was my song when I was "in Love" with a boy from the hills of West VA.:lovestruc Anyway, good memories, thanks Kevin. Penny:hippie:

My memory (since Darlene was waaaaaay before my time) is of my mother, who loved to dance & sing, for whatever reason, it was always when she was doing the dishes & she would take my hands & start singing & dancing to it. She loved Darlene & all the girl groups.

Ok, thanks for that everyone. Happy memories of my mom are the best!

Now I can't get that song out of my head...you're a brat Kevin! But we love you!!!

"All Alone on Christmas" sung by Darlene Love may be my favorite Christmas song. According to my iPod, it is the second most-played, though. And the iPod knows us better than we know ourselves.

Haven't heard her "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" version, but I don't really like that song. It would have to be a very cool version.

That's my plug for "All Alone on Christmas." Nobody ever knows that song when I mention it.

Stop what you are doing.

No...really...stop.

Go to iTunes and buy The Phil Specter Christmas Album.

It's a classic.

But...but...I'm listening to your Rose and Crown review and agreeing with your "don't be rude to folks in chairs" mini-rant!

I got it, though. If it sucks, you'll owe me the ten bucks. ;)
