Who invited Milton to her 21st Birthday?? An October 2024 Trip Report UPDATED October 11, 2025!

Thank you!

How was that? I’ve never been tempted as it sounds too much like just a pop-tart.
Eh, it's kind of dry but I'm a sucker for the seasonal theming of them!

In the trunk???
:rotfl:. Maybe!

Really!
I’ve never had very good food there. Mediocre at best. Maybe things have changed.
Really?? We eat there a lot and always like it! It's pretty basic burgers and sandwiches though but we aren't fancy eaters!

I’d agree with that… and I even got a table!
Welp, there goes that theory then.

Same! We actually have two parties booked for October, including the one during MNSSHP. We've never done that one but I think it will be nice to get off our feet for a bit.
I've done the party once and did enjoy it a lot. Not an every trip thing for me, and I'm usually riding the ride with low wait times during the shows.
You're a busy girl!
Now and then. Usually I'm a couch potato on my 3 days off. LOL!

OCTOBER 7, 2024
ALLIE'S SOGGY BIRTHDAY!

Hi everyone! We just passed the year mark of this hurricane trip and celebrated Allie's 22nd birthday this past week.
It was definitely more low key and not as soggy!

Before we get to October 7th I just wanted to go fill in a couple details I forgot about on October 6th, our Hollywood Studios day. When Allie and I were on a walk on her birthday we were talking about this trip and she was telling me that while we were at Sci-Fi she had gotten a notification from Southwest about their flight. Her and Clay were supposed to fly home on October 9th but while they were sitting having lunch, Allie was able to their flight to October 10th...you'll see how that worked out :sad2:

As the days went on and with the talk of the hurricane becoming more imminent, Clay was getting kind of stressed about it. For some reason I wasn't that nervous, probably because I've seen in trip reports and you tube videos how Disney has handled past hurricanes so I wasn't too concerned for our safety. Allie told Clay that I am a worrier so if I wasn't worried he shouldn't be. What I was more concerned about was the poor cast members who have homes down there. It became a frequent topic of discussion with them asking how they felt about Milton. Many of them told us that they would be on the storm ride-out team which means they stay and work throughout the storm and a lot of them expressed that they felt safer here than they would be at home. Still must be so stressful for them to be at work and worrying about their homes.

We still had a couple of hurricane free days to get through since Milton was projected to hit on the 9th
and we are up to the 7th...Allie's 21st Birthday!

Of course I had gotten up and put up a Facebook post for her that morning

Allie, Clay, Mike and I were up and ready early to rope drop EPCOT...

It was another soggy day...

But what can ya do? We just threw on ponchos and made the best of it.
I do think of all the parks to be in in the rain, EPCOT is the hardest because it's so huge and fairly uncovered,
whereas Hollywood Studios is small with many places to duck into in the rain.

We first headed to Remy's...

Then over to Allie's favorite breakfast place, Les Halles where we were lucky enough to find a table ...

A stop for a soggy pic in France,

And then Allie, Clay and I headed off to Guardians...

I have no idea at this point what song we got or where Mike went while we rode!

Allie's birthday continued in next post...

Dry… you’re really selling it!
:lmao:

Uh oh…..

I get that. I’ve never been through one… but know Disney handles them.
Allie told Clay that I am a worrier so if I wasn't worried he shouldn't be.
Did that help?
EPCOT...

I think you’re right

Huh! Never thought of that as a breakfast spot.

I'm surprised you haven't gone! Is Jimmy into Star Wars?
He was more when he was little. He loved the original movies, but never really got into everything that came after. I think he would like to check it out, but it just hasn't been a priority. He definitely loves walking around Galaxy's Edge though!

Still, we we excited and wanted to make the best especially since Clay hadn't been
since all the new Star Wars land had opened and he was excited to see it.
Grammy and Ava decided to take their time getting out this morning.
I told her to just hop on the boat so she wouldn't get lost trying to get there as she did another year
when she ended up over in the construction zone for the Swan Reserve :sad2:
Oh no! Your poor mom! Hope you all met up safely.
And while they were doing that I walked over to Woody's for a seasonal lunch box tart.
I brought it back to Galaxy's Edge to eat and ended up standing under an overhang outside a store
because the rain was really coming down at that point.
I've never tried those tarts as my fave snack is the popcorn in Galaxy's Edge.
It was time for lunch after that and we had an ADR at Sci-Fi. I wasn't sure how we would be sitting because I wasn't sure they had cars that seated six but they did...
Love, love, love Sci Fi diner! So many sweet memories of going there with the boys. :)
I don't recall but I'm guessing I was sitting with either my mom or Ava
since they're the only two I could actually beat on this :rotfl:
You'd be able to beat me hands down...I stuck at that game. Actually your Mom and Ava would probably beat me too, lol!
So what did we think of Oga's? It was fine...cool to see once but not sure if we'd need to go back.
Maybe we'd have liked it more if we had a table with seats?
We were kind of tucked into a standing against a wall area \
away from the bar and the DJ so not truly enjoyable if I'm being honest.
Totally agree. Jack and I went on his 21st trip and had fun but it's nothing I'd rush back to.
Back at the resort we changed into dry clothes and Mike and I went over to the Ale and Compass Lounge for a bite to eat. We had been too busy to look at our phones most of the day but while we were sitting there we started looking at the weather and things were not looking good.
Ugh to the weather but yay to Ale and Compass!
I love this lounge and the food there.
Definitely a good close option when staying at the BC and don't want to go back out in the rain.
::yes::
