Thanks all for your sweet words. Connor is doing ok this morning his hands are still wrapped up I'll unwrap them and put the silvadene on them and re-wrap them. I went ahead and kept him home today (3rd day of school!) called the school and they were suprised that they were burns and glad he was ok. :thumbsup2 I guess that's why there is a move towards plastic playground equipment, if you got 90 degree weather and 2nd grade gets recess at the end of the day that metal has had all day to bake in the sun. Of course he was touching a part he wasn't supposed to be touching (but they are kids right?) ::yes::

Donna---thanks for the breakfast, pepper market looks so festive! :thumbsup2

Hi to Ashley, Linda, YM, Lyzziesmom, pixie, Dznyfan, hellokitty and anyone I'm forgetting (still don't have my list). :thumbsup2

Ok...now I'm really hungry! :) Thanks so much, it looks so tasty!

Linda::Glad you got to talk to Kenny!! It's always helps to hear their voices and know they're OK!!! Nathan is an only child also and has always had an expanded vocabulary. It's always amazing to hear those words come out of such a small person!!
It was so great to hear his voice and know that he was ok! They are too cute aren't they? I love going places and people hear them talk and they have to ask how old they are b/c the way they're talking. Like when we go to restaurants I tell him what is on the menu and he has to order for himself. Too darn cute!! You'll have to post a picture of Nathan on his first day of school! :cloud9:

Had a little trauma here today. Got a call from Connor's school (I was already in the car) he is in the office with what looks like rope burns on his hands and it happened at recess. Turns out they were burns from touching hot playground equipment (reaching for the plastic part on a "sliding monkeybars"). Took him to the Dr. and they are 2nd degree burns across the palms of his hands! :scared1: Say a prayer that it isn't too painful for him while it heals. QUOTE]
Oh no!!! I hope Connor is ok! :grouphug: Poor little guy! I'll definitely send my prayers for him. pixiedust: I remember my mom getting called in first grade, I had a playground accident... I was running as fast as I could from the boys... playing kiss chase :rolleyes1 and I ran right into the monkeybars and chipped my front two teeth! FYI..if this happens to your kids put the teeth in WATER and take them to the dentist. The school put them in milk and that doesn't do it... but they fixed me up. Hope Connor is better soon!

Linda, Yay for you talking to Kenny! I love talking to my kids on the phone, they sound so different! It sounds like he's having a good time, even if it's driving you nuts.
They do sound so different! I can't wait for him to be home! I talked to him about it before he left. He wanted to "go check it out." Since he'd never been to New Jersey before;) I could have been nasty and not let the guy serve me the papers and they couldn't have taken me to court at all w/o the 7 days notice...but I don't like to be like that. Even though they didn't follow the rules...I was thinking about Kenny. As long as he is back for the wedding, I don't mind too much. As long as he's safe and having fun. The judge was on vacation and never did sign the papers to take him so I could have just said hey you have no court order... he don't go... but again... that isn't good for Kenny just to get a jab at them. They may be immature as hell but that doesn't mean I have to be;)!! That gets to them even more :teeth:

Good morning everyone! Have a great day!

Oh Lyzziesmom and 2x2s... I placed some poc items last night and I had to think of you two! :teeth: I bought the Captain Jack Sparrow figurine at the Disney store a few weeks ago and last night on www.disneyshopping.com I had to buy the poc snowglobe and the figurine of the black pearl  and several other snowglobes of coarse but the poc stuff made me think of you guys and your love for Johnny Depp :cloud9:

Good Morning Everyone!!

I have a lot of reading to catch up on, so I'll be doing that all morning.

I have 99 days left!!!! I can't believe I am down to double digits (especially since I was over 400 when I started the countdown).

Have a great day; I'll be back soon.

2xcited; Thanks for the suggestion, I've been practicing since we got it this afternoon. The only thing I see thats bad about this camera is, is that the batteries are gone way too fast. Thats kind of upsetting me! I guess I need to get some rechargeable ones.

YM: It takes 1 minute of video. I'm really looking forward to taking alot of pics and sharing them with you all!!!! :goodvibes I think I'm even going to take some pictures of my food to share with the food porn thread!

Ashley, you may have already been told this, but I am behind on emails.

You can get memory cards from buy.com They have pretty inexpensive cards (I got a 1GB SD Kingston for under $20.00). Most stores have them for over $70.00. They also have good deals on compact flash cards too (not sure what kind you have).

The bigger the memory card, the more pictures you can take (and the longer the video can be).

I would recommend either getting rechargable batteries or getting the Energizer lithium. Those last for a LONG time. If you are using the LCD screen instead of viewfinder, you will use more battery power (I always use the LCD screen).

Hi Amber!!! Ohh, thanks so much for the suggestion about buy.com. I still need to get the memory card and I wanted to get a 1GB! Is that alot? When I was buying a card, the guy suggested one that only held 80 pictures. That doesn't seem like alot to me..? I have no idea what a compact flash card is..???

This camera ONLY has the LCD screen..It doesn't have a viewfinder. I wasn't thinking about that when I bought it but I don't like it as much. I should have done some more research but you know how that goes. I am totally clueless about this anyways, I don't know if research would help! ;)
Oh, and guess what! Only 38 days til my trip! :) :) :) When your trip comes, I'll be boo-hooing that mine is over.

Donna, thanks for the breakfast at Pepper Market! I stayed at CSR in March 2004 and I loved it!!! :cool1: Now I can enjoy it again!

mommyintn: Hope Connor is feeling better today! That sounds so painful!

Lyzziesmom: Oh, that bill sounds painful..Thats why I didn't go to the emergency room. I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on tests/x-rays/one tylenol that doesn't work/ and then have them tell me there is nothing they can do. I was reading about knee injuries and its often something like that. I think I'll just try to take it easy at WDW, and if it hurts, use the heating pad at night and take some aleve or something. I know I've said it (probably 20 times before) but your kids are so adorable! :cloud9:

Good Morning!

Donna- Thanks for breakfast from the Pepper Market!

Lyzziemom & Linda- Ya'll's storys about your kids are so sweet!

Linda- I'm glad you heard from Kenny.

Angela- :grouphug: for Connor. Hope he feels better soon.

Good Morning all you lovely cliqueless chicas!! :cool1:

I feel like myself today......I felt terrible yesterday. I had a headache, my stomach was kinda upset, and I just felt all over blah! I think I may have had some kind of sinus infection, or allergies, or something. But I feel much better today!!

mommyintn - sorry to hear about Connor's hands. I hope he feels better. I know that playground equipment can get extremely hot. I'm sure he'll be back to normal soon!

DonnaLeah - Thanks so much for the breakfast! That looks fantastic!! I love me a good omelet and potatoes!!

Well, tomorrow should be a busy day. I have to take DS(10) to the doctor at 11:15. He has a very small mole (or big freckle) right between his eyes. He wants to have it removed. It really isn't all that noticable......except to HIM! And it makes him somewhat self-concience about hit. So, we'll have a dermatologist take a look.

Then, later tomorrow afternoon, we have "meet the teacher day". Both boys find out what teacher they have.

Also......I have to brag about DS(10) a little.........I got a letter in the mail yesterday and it had his results from the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test he took last year. He scored in the "Advanced" level in both mathematics and reading. Woo Hoo........way to go Colton!! I am so proud of him!! :Pinkbounc

Congrats and way to go Colton! :woohoo: nice job!

:wave2: Good Morning, everyone! :wave2:

Ashley, you'll have to let us know how you like POFQ, I've really been wanting to stay there! Maybe next time...

I can't believe we close on the house TODAY!! Yay! I'm so excited, I barely slept last night. As you can see from my late-night hootiness. I'm leaving work early to go to the closing and then we are going right over to the house and having a pizza picnic on the floor. We used to do that when I was a kid, when we would move if we got to the new house before the moving van did, we would get some takeout and sit on the floor, or use boxes for tables. It was so much fun!

Emma was talking the other day about going on the airplane, it's amazing how much she remembers from last time. She doesn't speak well, so it's easy to forget how smart she really is. She said, "Airplane! Sky! Fruit snacks! Nuts! Watch Wiggles! (on the portable DVD) Disney! Mickey Mouse! Stickers! (she stuck Mickey stickers all over herself on the way home) Fly! Home!" How cute! I think she understands that we are going again, but with no concept of time, she doesn't know when.

Well I really should get some work done. I was NOT in Monday mode yesterday, and accomplished next to nothing. That's not good.

I would recommend getting at least a 1GB card if you plan on taking a lot of pictures. The higher the megapixel, the more space it takes up on a memory card.

Here is a link for a 1GB card: http://www.buy.com/prod/Kingston_1GB_Secure_Digital_Card_SD/q/loc/101/202743519.html

If you want to spring for a 2GB: http://www.buy.com/prod/Kingston_Technology_2GB_Secure_Digital_Card/q/loc/101/202381374.html

There are several different types of memory cards (SD, compact flash, memory stick, etc). Different cameras use different memory cards, I wasn't sure what type your camera uses.

Here is a chart that will give you an idea of how many pictures a memory card will hold: http://www.digicamhelp.com/accessories/memory-cards/capacity.php It's not exact, because I can hold more than 400, but it can help with your decision.

If you do get a smaller card and fill it, WDW has places you can put the pictures on CD, but it's around $12 to do so (you can go offsite and do it for around $2).

If you have any questions, I'm happy to help. Just PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE before going.

Good advice Amber.
I took four (4) 1 Gig cards, plus one (1) 512 meg card with me to Disney. And I filled each of them up. I took a LOT of pictures!

My one piece of advice would be this......I would try to stay away from cards larger than 1 Gig. For the simple fact, that if something were to happen to that card, you would lose a LOT of pictures. That is why I got four 1 Gig cards.

I bought my cards - which are Compact Flash - off of EBay. I think I got a pretty good deal. You just have to watch the shipping charges.

I don't have any cards over 1GB, but I know several people that use them without problems (I'm a bit nervous about it though).

Last year, I had a 1GB, a 128, and a 35mm camera.

This year, I have 3 1GB (for my Kodak z740), 1GB (for my Canon) and I may still take my 35mm (undecided). Oh, and DH will be using the camcorder.

I'm a bit obsessed (I can't wait to get my SLR...oh yeah!!)

Are you getting a digital SLR?

I got a digital Rebel XT just before our trip in May. I absolutely LOVE it!

I keep it with me almost all the time.

Yes, I'm getting a digital. I am a bit undecided as to which one I want though. I can't decide if I want a Canon or a Nikon. I am leaning towards the Canon though.

DH said this is the last camera I get for a while. I am hoping that I can get it for Christmas.

Amber, THANKS for reminding me about the $12 thing! I completely forgot about that, I always read it but didn't pay much attention because I didn't have a digital.

I have a 6 megapixel. So it says with a 1 MB it would hold about 320 pictures? That sounds good to me. I want to take alot of pictures, but I don't think I'll take that much! For my camera, I have a Pentax Optio E10. It's nothing fancy, but I think it will do the job for me. I don't take alot of pictures in general, but I bought this and want that to change!

I also have just a regular camera that I got a couple years ago, I think I'll bring that with a couple rolls of film.

Congrats Amber! It is so exciting counting down esp. as it gets closer and closer!!!I have a Canon Powershot and I love it!! I got a 6mb card and I can take like.... 1800 high res pix!!! I have 2 256 cards, a 128 and a 32 that came w/it... I would highly recommend at least a 1gb. I took over 600 pix on our trip and I would have taken much more if we weren't going so fast... Mike gets in a hurry sometimes!!

Kenny remembers quite a bit about our trips too. It amazes me. We gave away our dog b/c we were having so many allery problems...I hated to but I had to do it... He was 3... and the lady I gave her too was April and she had 2 kids... and he will still say "I wonder how Princess is doing at Aprils" and that was 2 years ago. It amazes me...we met her for 10 minutes one time!

Thanks DznyFan...I'm still excited I got to talk to him!!!

Hope you're all enjoying your day! Mike emailed me and the new carpet is all installed :woohoo: !!!

Ashley, remember too, that the number of pics held on your memory card will be dependent on what level of resolution you use. For example, if you set your camera on the highest resolution (SHQ - Super High Quality) you will be able to save fewer photos than if you use a lower setting, like HQ (High Quality). You will sacrifice some of the crispness and clarity when you don't use the camera's highest setting, but if you don't intend to enlarge anything, it shouldn't make a noticeable difference.
