Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

Thanks for eveyone's opinions. I'm glad I'm not just crazy.

mommyintn, congrats on becoming a TA. I have looked into it and am still thinking about doing it. Let me know how it goes.

Angela...you're planning a surprise trip :cheer2: does your dh know? or just a secret from the little ones? that is so awesome!!! I don't think I could keep that surprise... I get way too excited!!!

Wow Amber, 3 changes in 8 months? How dare you?? You mean you are making your TA actually WORK for their money? Shame shame. But seriously... that was out of line. Heck the Big Cheese here at my job will make more changes than that in a day, the same day she is traveling!

Angela, your Connor sounds so much like my DD Lyzzie (the Beverly girl in my sig)! She loves school and can't wait for it to start - so she can see her friends again. Last year we got class information a couple weeks early, this year she won't find out her teacher & classmates until the day before school starts, at 11:30am. I'm convinced that the people who schedule these things do not have children.

Amber...you absolutely are not over-reacting. That TA was very rude. You make as many changes as you need to, it's your vacation. She seems to have forgotten who she is working for

April...Your story was hysterical. I am so glad that you were able to get it all worked out and keep your Ding! fare. That's great. I agree that making her laugh probably helped make her want to help you. I know that sick feeling that comes from a big screw up ;) A couple of years ago we were at Disney and staying, as usual, at OKW. The night before I had put a load in the washer and dryer. Got up that morning, happy as a clam, and got the clothes out of the dryer. I felt a lump in my shorts pocket as I am folding and my heart sinks. Yep, 5 passes. This was when we could get 30 day passes from some company, don't remember, but it was a great deal. Well not if you have to replace them. Luckily when the company shipped the tickets they included copies of the backs. I was able to take them to GS at AK and they replaced them all :cheer2: Walking up to the window my knees were so weak from sick and fear I didn't think I was going to make it. :sad2:

Lyzziesmom...Thanks for the Krispy Kremes. that is as close as I am going to get for a while. I lost weight about a year and a half ago and have managed to put almost all of it back on :furious: I NEED to get back to work. In the summer I don't eat as many meals, I just graze all day long on stuff that is really bad for my waistline popcorn:: I had to go buy more shorts for vacation. Next week at this time I should be checking into CSR right about now

Blake came home last night and informed me that he had the TA that he uses for work check into car rentals for us. We are scheduled to use ME. The last few trips we have driven down so this was going to be different not having a car. Can you rent a car but let ME handle your bags? I am so anxious to get to Disney that I don't want to wait for the luggage!! :hourglass

The reason behind school starting late in the week and sometimes as a 1/2 day is that it eases the kids in. That first week can be really long! ;)

2x2... my theory on car problems is usually to turn up the radio :rolleyes1 If I can't hear it it can't be that much of a problem now can it? The check engine light as been on in my car for about 2 years. Now Pozey stop hyperventilating :lmao: It was checked numerous times by our mechanic who says that there is nothing wrong but it won't go out. So...I covered it with a piece of black electrical tape. :confused3 I got tired of seeing it.

Surprise trips are a lot of work! I did that last year for Lyzzie's birthday, I told her about the trip about a week before we left, but I did not tell her that her dad & granparents would be meeting us there. It was so hard to not tell her, I don't know how many times I almost slipped up! Luckily she's young, so she is still gullible. Mwaaahahahaha! (<--- evil laugh)

Gooood Morning everyone! (Or is it early Afternoon??) :sunny:

April: Whew, that certainly would make my heart race!! Glad you got it straightened out!! In December 2004, something similar happened to me. Jeremiah actually moved up to VA first from Florida and he drove all of our stuff up. I was the one responsible for making the reservations for the one way tickets to VA, he was flying down for Christmas and then we were flying back up together. :bitelip: At the time I hadn't flown in a long time and I was just a bundle of nerves, I was packing some more stuff, my Grandma was in the hospital, I was just on edge. I went to Expedia and booked a flight and I did the same thing- booked the flight from VA to Florida! Ugh, I was so nervous because the day we were flying was the day after Christmas and I know thats usually a popular day! But luckily, I got a nice person at Expedia and instead of charging me $100 each for the cancellation fee, they only charged me $5. That was fine with me!!!

Welcome, Angela!!! You are a travel agent?? I really want to become one!! Give Nicole & me some tips!! That is frusterating about the glue...How could they be out of glue!! :confused3

Lyzziesmom: Thanks for the donuts!! Yum. Unfortunately I don't have any Krispy Kreme's around me, I just have to buy the yucky ones from the grocery store. :guilty: Congratulations on the Segway Tour!! I'm sure it will be a blast. Make sure you take some pictures and tell us all about it!!! :)

Amber:: Oh, that TA was SO RUDE. I kind of have been having that experience with mine. I didn't do it through AAA though. It just seems like mine always has an attitude problem. It is my first time booking with one too and I didn't know the protocol. The only reason I booked with one is because I was nervous about getting the free dining plan (the first day...I get planning anxiety  ) and I knew she would be calling first thing the day it was released and getting my ADR's too. Next time, I'll just book things for myself!!!

Hey Linda, DznyFan, Pozey, and Nicole!!! :wave2:

Dh is in on it, but the kids have nooo idea. It has been a little hard keeping it in but I can't wait to see the looks on their faces!! We are going the day after Thanksgiving, so we are planning on giving them something after Thanksgiving dinner or we may just wait until we get to the airport! :cool1: They already know we are going during spring break again but they will be blown away, and we're going to do MVMCP on our last night there we're only going Nov.24-28th. We got awesome airfare for $117 each roundtrip from Nashville. I'm soooo looking forward to it, it will be our 1st time staying onsite too. :goodvibes

Ok, here are a couple pictures from my trip from Florida to VA.

Here we are with the car before the stupid window broke and wouldn't go up! (It was fixed today, BTW!!!!!!) Getting ready to leave.

I like your style! :smooth:

On being a home based travel agent, I didn't have any formal training (except working at a travel agency as a receptionist and working in hotel industry) my host agency gives some basic training and then you just learn as you go. They also have a yahoo chatlist for agents and you can get a lot of tips and helps from other agents or split commission with an experienced agent on a clients trip and they will help you through. It's been a great experience so far, but since commissions generally take a few months I've yet to get paid but I should next month. I don't plan to get rich at this just something I enjoy (travel) and giving me some extra income here and there. :)

We are staying at POR, and I can't wait!!! My goal is a new resort each time we go. In March we are staying the first 7 days off-site at Windsor Hills in a great townhouse we stayed at last year. The last 3 days we will switch to on-site at the WL, Connor really wanted the Contemporary but the prices (ouch!) and there was no availability unless I want to live like Trump and stay in a 2 bedroom suite ($5000 something for 3 days!) :rotfl:

OOhh! You will love POR!!! I really loved it there, we stayed in November 2005. I wanted to book it again but DH said we should try out FQ and see which one we like better.

We stayed at POR just this past May. It was beautiful.

But I have to honestly say I missed staying at one of the deluxe resorts. :guilty: :rolleyes1

This was our first time at a moderate, and I missed staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I think the room size (we are a family of 5) was the only major thing we didn't like about POR.

I stayed at POR back when it was Dixie Landings when I was in college, and it was great. We all really enjoyed it. We had friends staying at the Contemporary, and we thought it was funny that we liked our room so much better! (this was when it was the "cheap" WDW hotel at $70 a night.)
