Wow today seems to be the day for car troubles. Ashley, sounds like your trip home was very eventful! Glad to hear the window is getting fixed. Michele, good luck at the dealership. They always make feel like a dope too.

I just got a call from the car insurance company of the lady who rearended my car a couple of months ago. They just now got a hold of her! The good news is that they will pay to have my car fixed (it's not too bad but the back bumper is in sorry shape) and for me to have a rental in the meantime. The "bad" news is that they don't work with any shops that are very convenient to me so it will be a bit of a pain in the rear to get it fixed. Oh well, such is life.

Lunch? What's that? I'm filing again during lunch. I usually don't eat at lunchtime anyway, it's when I run all my errands without the kids. So this way, I'm not spending money, and I'm actually earning extra. Works out pretty well for me!

I'll check back in later I'm sure, it's not too busy here today.

ahhh...had leftovers for lunch. chicken that was marinated and grilled, corn on the cob (cut off) that was grilled, and green beans from the garden... yummm it was great!

DzynFan...sounds like you and your dd have a great relationship. That is what I want Kenny and I to have... the closeness and he can be comfortable to come to me about anything! Sounds like that is what you and your dd have! That is awesome!!

Ashley  sorry you had such an interesting trip home but glad you made it back safely. Good to see your family I'm sure!

Good luck w/your car too Michele! I hate car problems :furious: especially since they always try to rip you off!!! Thanfully Mike can fix most things..and he's got plenty of time now;)...

I'm thinking if I get to work from home a lot more ...I should get me a little convertible  Mike likes the Saturn Sky or Pontiac Solstice...just a little toy...we've already got 4 vehicles...but it would be fun to have a little convertible...plus we get GM discount;)...yes...I love discounts :woohoo:

Hi Nicole, Amber,April,lyzziesmom,2x2s... and everyone I forgot... have a great afternoon...

Pozey..that's too cute, giving a copy of the pix to Chase's girlfriend;)!!! How adorable :cheer2: Go Chase!!!

I will preface this rant to apologize to YourMajesty or DznyFan if you were at Wal Mart at lunch…….

Well, I run to Wal Mart at lunch. All I wanted to do was to take my compact flash card in and select about 10 pictures to be printed so I can pick them up before I pick up the boys later.

Wal Mart has 2 of those machines where you can print your digital camera photos. Well, this one woman was using one of them. The other was open. But it wouldn’t take my compact flash. The little pins on the inside were bent. So, I had to wait behind the other lady.

Well, she proceeds to select and edit EVERY SINGLE PICTURE she wants to print. If you have never used one of these machines, well, you can edit the picture by zooming, rotating, or making the picture darker or lighter. Well, she did that on every picture.

I bet she took 25 minutes to select her pictures. I wasn’t really mad at her……that is her right to do that. I guess I was mad at Wal Mart for the other one not working.

Anyway, I am waiting on her to finish and this other young lady goes to the other machine. I notice she also has a compact flash card. I tell her that I wasn’t able to get mine to work. She tries, but she is unable as well.

So, she comes over to stand in line behind me, and we start talking. She is on a road trip from northern Missouri, down through Oklahoma, on her way to Dallas, Tx. She was a sweet young girl……but I digress……

The lady finishes selecting her pictures, and I quickly select my 10 or so pictures, and head back to work.

My expected 5 minute venture into Wal Mart turns into half an hour!!

Once again......YourMajest or DznyFan.....if either of you were at Wal Mart......I am venting more on Wal Mart.....

 Sorry pozey! I'm so glad I've got a card reader and a printer here and at home ;) I did spend 1 1/2 hours at one of those machines at Wal Mart scanning all our wedding pix. though :sad2: that was ridiculous!!! Maybe it was DznyFan's dd behind you :cool1:

No, Pozey, my dear - I wasn't there - I avoid Wal Mart like the plague. I tend to become homicidal when I go in there. (see: your post) I wish they'd build a Super Target out east on 71st somewhere. Sorry to hear about your lunch - sounds like typical Wal Mart to me, no apology necessary. ;)

So what are the rest of the books, and how many are there? I have the first 3. They're still packed in a box somewhere since my last move 2 years ago.

After the first 3, there are:
4 - Wizard and Glass
5 - Wolves of the Calla
6 - Song of Susannah
7 - The Dark Tower

The last three were written and released in the space of just over a year, I think, and the story really evolves into much more than the first 3 would hint at.

So how is everyone else's Monday going? Is 2x2s back from the neverending Dr. appointment yet? I'm having a sloooooow day. My lovely boss tells me she has lots of projects for me, but she needs to get some things together first and is perpetually late. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure I fell asleep here for a minute or two. :rolleyes1

:lmao: HAD TO SHARE

A man had just settled into his seat next to the window on the plane when another man sat down in the aisle seat and put his black Labrador Retriever in the middle seat next to the man.

The first man looks very quizzically at the dog and asks why the dog is allowed on the plane. The second man explained that he is a DEA agent and that the dog is a "sniffing dog". His name is Sniffer and he's the best there is. I'll show you once we get airborne, when I put him to work."

The plane takes off, and once it has leveled out, the agent says: "Watch this." He tells Sniffer to "search".

Sniffer jumps down, walks along the aisle, and finally sits very purposefully next to a woman for a several seconds. Sniffer then returns to its seat and puts one paw on the agent's arm.

The agent says, "Good boy", and he turns to the man and says: "That woman is in possession of marijuana, so I'm making a note of her seat number and the authorities will apprehend her when we land."

"Say, that's pretty neat" replies the first man. Once again, the agent sends Sniffer to search the aisles. The Lab sniffs about, sits down beside a man for a few seconds, returns to its seat, and this time, he places TWO paws on the agent's arm. The agent says, "That man is carrying cocaine, so again, I'm making a note of his seat number for the police."

"I like it!" says his seat mate. The agent then told Sniffer to "search" again.

Sniffer walked up and down the aisles for a little while, sat down for a moment, and then came racing back to the agent, jumped into the middle seat and proceeded to crap all over the place.

The first man is really grossed out by this behavior and can't figure out how or why a well-trained dog would act like that, so he asks the agent "What's going on?"

The agent nervously replied, "He just found a bomb!"

Ok, now you may proceed w/your Monday afternoon;)

Just got through with the dinner dishes and ready to DIS!! :surfweb: DS just made a smore and I'm trying really hard to not snack! Wow, watching him use the microwave makes me realize how big he's getting. He will be 8 on Sept. 10th--how time flies!!!
I also like to remember our time together at WDW when DH had a backache. We went to Epcot to ride Spaceship Earth(he calls it the Epcot Ball) and did Honey I Shrunk the Audience. After that we rode the monorail back to MK. We got to ride up front and Nathan and the other kids all got pilot wings. As the evening drew to a close, he took my hand and said "Mom this has been the BEST vacation", then he kissed my hand!! :cloud9: :lovestruc I don't get too many Mommy Moments like that anymore and it was very special to me. Just had to share.

:wave2: Hi, Donna! I'm actually on at night for a change!
What a sweet thing your son did - kids are wonderful, aren't they?

Awww Donna, that's so sweet about your son! I know what you mean about them getting big. Lyzzie was using the microwave at my mom's house the other day, and I said, "You can't do that, you can't reach!" (It's mounted up above the stove) and she just gave me this look like, Oh Mom really, and reached right up there & did it. Yikes. She still loves to have her "Mommy moments," probably because it's just us girls and we've always been close, but I can already see the attitude starting. I tell her to quit growing and she says, "But Mommy the only way I can quit growing is if I die. You don't want me to die, do you Mommy?" Yep, master of the guilt trip, that one is.

Wow, I think that was 2xcited's shortest. post. ever.
