pozey... you don't get home through the week???
It is a little better now. During the spring/summer, I coached DS(7)'s baseball team. So, we would have baseball practice on Tuesday and Thursday. Then, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday both boys have swim practice. Now, I at least get to come home on Tuesday and Thursday.

pozey :wave2: - did you get any rain last night? It thundered and clouded up, but not a drop of anything.

Same at my house.......Nuthin'. I could hear thunder off in the distance, but no rain.

Mornin' all! It's a dreary rainy day here in Kansas City, but at least it's cooled off a bit. Good news for my A/C, which by the way is still not working. Hopefully IRG (Idiot Repair Guy) will remember to come back this morning.

DznyFan - Yes, the Dark Tower series is finished. I'm telling you, if you are a King fan you MUST finish the series. It's fantastic, and it links to every single thing the man has ever written, and even to some things he hasn't. I agree that it can be tough to get into... did you know he's re-written part I? Go pick up a new revised copy, it's much easier than the 'original' version and really helps you get into the story more quickly. I'm not going to give anything away, but the ending is brilliant and will make you want to pick up the first one and start right over. Wow.

Hey Linda, while you're at it could you "accidentally" click a few mil into my account? I'll take everyone on a nice Land & Sea package.

Donna, that's a bummer when the post-trip letdown sets in, isn't it? At least you had a couple days to recoup before returning to work. I always seem to time it so I have to go back to work right away, and then it almost feels like I never left. Boo-hoo.

Pozey, I know what you mean about not getting home during the week. Since it's just me & my girls, we often have errands to run after I pick them up after work, and we won't get home until their bedtime, or just after. I guess that's why we are so busy on the weekends, we have to do all of our fun stuff then. It's tough to not be there as much as I'd like to, but a girl's gotta work.

Speaking of work, I should probably get a little done. Yuck, Monday. :badpc:

Hope you guys get some rain here soon pixiedust:

pozey if I had the 4mill I'd share w/you guys  glad you get home for the baseball practice... you have to stay in a hotel through the week? before Kenny was born I traveled all over the country for the phone co. and hardly got home. We were working in Maine and the boss asked if we were going home for the weekend... :rotfl2: yeah...it's a 2 day drive... there were some cool parts. Get to see a lot of the country...but I like going home to my own bed everynight so much better. Now that I'm a mgr. in the office it is much better!! Let them travel and get some nice per diem;) That is great you can coach!! I'm sure they love that.

Back to work :rolleyes1

Good Morning! :wave2:

The boss is back today, so I guess I have to do work.

I'll clarify.....I actually DO come home every night.......just late. I usually get off work at 5:00, practices (baseball and swimming) usually last until 8:30. Me and the boys get home around 9:00, then it's bath and bed time.

Speaking of baseball.......we were out in the yard playing yesterday and DS(7) (who is a VERY good baseball player) was practicing hitting. Well, DD(3) just HAD to get in on the action. So, she asked if she could have a turn.....And boy can she swing a bat!!! She has SKILLS!! I've played baseball since I could walk, and I went to college on a baseball scholarship.....and I am telling you.....she is going to be GOOD!! She can hit off a tee at 3 years old as good as some of the kids I watched playing Tee Ball can. I'm thinking......First female Professional Baseball Player!!! :woohoo:

I see :) busy busy!!! wow... you're gonna beating the guys away w/her she is adorable AND talented.... you better start lifting now....or have a nice gun collection;)! She has two brothers to keep up with... and to help teach her...but that is great you get out with them and play and practice etc. So many parents don't do that... it's so sad :sad2: I don't have a ton of time but when I am home...I spend it w/him. He's in bed at 8 so Mike and I can have time after that;)!! Kenny loves to play baseball and soccer so far. If I get to work from home that will give me another 3 hrs a day!!! :woohoo: that will be so great!! Well you'll have to get some pix of her in action.. she is so adorable!!! Maybe she'll follow in dads footsteps :thumbsup2

So what are the rest of the books, and how many are there? I have the first 3. They're still packed in a box somewhere since my last move 2 years ago.

Too cute!! I bet her brothers will be very protective of her when she gets older, too.

Isn't that the truth about parents! I've always loves spending time with my girl, and any more that time is so limited! I suppose some people might think it weird, but she spends a lot of time with us. Sure, her friends get a fair amount of time, but she likes to do things with us and our friends. I suppose that is the result of us spending time with her!

Hi, Nicole!

Good Morning!!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and for most it is back to work. :rolleyes1 I still have a few more weeks before school starts here.

 This is my single digit dance Whoo hoo!!! 9 more days!!!

Matt started HS football practice this morning. He was so funny. He is a typical teenager, wants to sleep all day. Well practice started this morning at 8am. He was by our bed at 7am telling us he was leaving, he wanted to be the first one there. :confused3 Then a few minutes later he was back asking Blake to drive him. He couldn't manage his bag and the cooler for his lunch on his bike :rotfl: They were getting their pads this morning and the earlier he got there the better his chances of getting a pair that might actually fit. Last year he was QB for the middle school team. The MS gets a lot ofhand-me downs from the HS as far as equipment goes. Matt is about 120 # and 5'5" maybe. The shoulder pads they gave him were an adult XL. He couldn't possibly throw with those on, he could barely lift his arm! Luckily his uncle was the president of the local city league team and loaned him a set of pads that actually fit.

I have to take my car to the dealer today :furious: The brake lights are stuck on. They won't go off even when the car isn't turned on. Blake pulled the fuse and told me to drive with my hazards on when I take it in. I hate going to car dealers, they make me feel stupid. Plus I will probably have to argue with them. DH says this is the 3rd time it has been in for the exact same problem. The car is a Taurus and was his company car, when he got a new car for work they let us buy this one really cheap. He never argued about the cost before, the company was paying :rolleyes1 And of course he is out of town again so I have to do it myself.

Pozey...Good for your DD. I love it when the girls show off!! You sound like my DH as far as the coaching thing. He has coached so many of the boys teams. Even when he tries not to he can't help himself.
I tried the ALT-Tab thing on my computer and nothing happens...what am I doing wrong?

Michele- :furious: for your car troubles! I hope they can finally fix it! I need to get my car fixed. I think it needs the fuel injectors fixed. Single digit dance! :cool1: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: I still have to do the DDD :(

Lyzziesmom- At least it's raining! Tell IRG to hurry up and fix the AC!

Pozey- You are really going to have to beat the guys off with a stick when your DD is older!

Hi Amber, Linda and Dznyfan! :wave2:

Hey everyone, :sunny: :Pinkbounc

I'm home in Virginia. I had a really nice time in Florida. It was really nice to see my family and go to some favorite restaurants!!!

We left Florida at about 8 am Saturday. We were having a great trip and stopped at the South Carolina/North Carolina border at about 7:30. We went to that cheesy place, South of the Border, you know the one where you see alot of cheesy billboards along the way! If you haven't heard of it, here's the website: http://www.pedroland.com/ They had a lot of tacky souvenir shops and it was just really cheesy, but the price was right, the hotel was clean and they allowed pets!!! They also had alot of restaurants within walking distance. I wasn't in the mood for anything fried so we went to a steak place. The prices were INSANE but Jeremiah & I split a chicken & steak dish and it was the best ever! I really needed a good meal and it hit the spot.

We got up on Saturday, and of course we couldn't have a problem-free trip. We got on the road, and the window started leaking. Jeremiah pulled over and tried to fix it, but then the window wouldn't even go back up, it was stuck somewhere in a door. It was a complete nightmare. I was freaking out #1 because I didnt want Ruby to somehow jump out of the window, since she moves and jumps alot. Plus, it was SO HOT. The temperatures were in the 100's and the air conditioning was just getting sucked out of the window. We went to a Pep Boys in North Carolina, and they don't fix windows..and we went to a Carmax (Where we purchased the car) and they don't have technicians that work on Sunday's. So after that 2 hour detour, with a garbage bag taped to our window that Carmax put there, we were on the road. I was actually hysterical the whole time, because I was hot and just didn't feel good. In hindsight, we really should have stopped at a hotel, thats what I wanted to do. We couldn't keep the garbage bag taped to the window because it was starting to blow off, and I didn't want it to blow off on I-95 and cause an accident, plus Jeremiah couldn't see when he had to get over, etc. It was just bad. Poor Ruby was so over-heated and it was just a bad exprience!

We finally got home at about 5 pm. We had hit bad traffic (of course) as soon as we hit Virginia. We took everything out of the car, and taped the garbage bag back on it. That was good, considering it poured last night at 4 am and the car still got water in it. I went to watch tv at about 7:30 in bed and I just collapsed. I didn't get up until 7 this morning! We went to our local Carmax this morning and they were able to get the window up and taped, so we didn't have to leave it there, yay!!! They ordered the part that was broken too, they said it should only be about a day for it to get in.

I do like the car. I personally wouldn't pick it, but it has air conditioning and runs, thats all that matters. I'll post some pictures!!

ANYWAY, I missed you guys! It sure looks like I missed alot. Hope everybody's doing good!!! :sunny: :) I'm glad I'm back!!

Well, it is inching ever so slowly towards lunch time......

What is on the menu for lunch today??

As for me......I have leftover Mexican food from Ted's Cafe Escondido waiting in the fridge for me. I still think there is part of a cheese enchilada, a chicken enchilada, and a beef tamale, along with some rice and beans.

I also need to run to Wal Mart at lunch. I took pictures of Chase with his "girlfriend" this morning when I dropped them off at the Boys and Girls Club. I need to have them developed so that I can give her a set when I pick them up later.

pozey, Thanks!! You learn something new everday.

Michele, Sorry about the car trouble. I know all about that. I went for quite some time with NO working lights (a defect was fixed for free). I've had nothing but problems with my car. Everyone, do NOT buy a Saturn L200!

Ashley, you poor thing! I can't imagine driving in that heat.
I keep asking DH to stop at South of the Border, but he refuses. I just want to see it up close.

Ashley

Glad you made it home safely!! What a nightmare of a trip home.

Ashley - what a 'fun' trip home... despite the trouble, glad you made it home safely! At least the car is on its way to being fixed!
car pixiedust: for both you and MIMom!
