Good morning everyone! Things are crazy around here, I'll be glad when this week is over! We're getting a new phone system at work which is long overdue, but they're doing the installation during business hours - it's nuts! Our long distance service went out this morning (again) and my boss won't put out an internal email about it, so I'm getting tons of calls from employees to "let me know" that it doesn't work... even though I have absolutely nothing to do with it and they know that. The phones are going crazy, either not working or ringing but there's no call coming in -- can I just go back to bed?!
This morning at home my dad started bugging me about looking for another job. He was pushing me to try for a production position at this company (publishing). I tried to explain that a) the production jobs are few & far between, and most employees have been here for 20+ years and aren't leaving, and b) I have been out of the design business for over 10 years and my experience is hopelessly outdated, I'd need to pretty much start over with schooling, and c) I DON'T WANT TO! He said, "You are the smartest person I've ever met. Why are you such an idiot?" Thanks Dad.
Yes, that and I need them to pay for Lyzzie's airfare. I can't afford the trip on my own, but if they come with then they can pay for her and my parents will pay for Emma, and I have a free flight voucher. That leaves me only with the room cost and food - that way I can do a week at WDW for under $500! I'm still waiting to hear back from them, I hope they got my email. This is killing me, I want to just start planning already!! Glad to hear Ruby is ok. I wonder what prompted them to check her ears? We put our tree up yesterday, it's not decorated yet but it's out of the basement. Roxy spent a good part of the evening chewing on the light cords, and I spent just as much time chasing her away. My dad says, "Oh she'll stop when she gets zapped."
Uh.. no thanks! We are already losing one cat, I don't want to lose the other one too!
I hope so too! I'm obsessively checking my email!
Oh I had the same problem. I called my alarm clock a liar this morning! What happened to it being light in the morning?? That didn't last long. Glad you made it to work on time! It seems like we are perpetually running late in the mornings, it drives me nuts. Of course, if I could wake up on time....
The girls didn't want to go to sleep last night, so of course that made this morning especially rough. Emma "needed me" at 9:30 -- they'd been in bed for 2 hours -- to keep her company and sing to her. So we had an impromptu singalong of Bingo and Old MacDonald. It's times like these I'm glad we don't live in an apartment any more!
Emma was very cute trying to keep up with the Bingo clapping, and making up animals that lived on Old MacD's farm. At one point her version went like this:
...and on his farm he had a Lyzzie! EIEIO
with a LyzzieLyzzie here and a LyzzieLyzzie here
there goes Lyzzie theres Lyzzie everywhere Lyzzie MacDonald... EIEIO!
We were cracking up, and I knew she needed to sleep but it was so much fun I didn't want to stop. I paid for it this morning though.
Howdy stranger! Lyzzie's birthday was back in September, just after we got back from our family trip to WDW. She's 9 and definitely a preteen, attitude and all!
Oh my, so they had you hauling bags of laundry back & forth? I can't even keep up with my own laundry, they'd have to pay me quite a bit extra to bring that dirty work home with me. Would that be considered overtime?
YM: Only three weeks! I'm so jealous!! Do you need a photographer? A videographer? A luggage schlepper? A keeper of the ADR's? Anything?? Bueller?

Well hopefully, maybe... don't really know yet. I don't like that I have to depend on someone else to determine if we can go. I originally wanted to take a January trip with just Lyzzie, but then got the car & WDW was pushed out of the budget. Now my parents are encouraging me to go, so they can take their cruise at the same time. That's why they agreed to pay for Emma's airfare if Lyzzie's family will pay for hers. It would be as a Christmas gift.

Lyzziesmom, its great you could be going to WDW!!! Why do you have to take Lyzzies's dad and his parents to be able to go? nevermind, I just read its because its hard to travel with both girls! I hope you are able to go. Fingers crossed!!

lyzziesmom:: I hope Lyzzie's grandparents come through with the airfare!! A trip in the planning sounds like such fun!!

It was so hard getting up this morning. I got used to not having to get up for work.
