Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

Hey everyone!

Ashley, I hope you feel better. Mike has been sick these past couple days too.

I've been reading that thread too. I feel so bad for her.

I am so happy. I was able to get several discounts from Direct TV  I told them that Dish and cable offer cheaper plans. They responded by giving me HBO for $3 a month (I currently pay $13) for 6 months, $10 of by bill for a year, and 3 months free movie channels (Cinemax, Showtime, etc). :cool1:

I spent way too much money yesterday. :guilty: QVC had everything on 5 Easy Pays, so I decided to go shopping (some stuff I planned on getting anyway). I got new luggage, two pairs of shoes, a pair of pants, a set of Cool Downz (the things you put in water and wear around your neck. It's suppose to keep you cool), and two knife holders (those are for Mike).

Now more shopping for me. :upsidedow

Amber- That's great you got a discount on your cable bill!:cool1: I went shopping at HSN this morning. I bought a pair of earrings and some bracelets that I didn't need. ;)

Anyone care to join me in Las Vegas in September?;) I want to go see Justin Timberlake since I missed him here last time. I've been searching like a mad woman trying to find a good deal!

Amber: QVC shopping is the worst! You feel like you're really not spending much. I've only acually bought from them one time, it was a scrapbooking set that I saw as the deal of the day or whatever, then I went online and ordered it. I was very pleased - for the price it really came with a ton of stuff. Even my mom was impressed, and we all know how she feels about my scrapbooking stuff. It was a very good deal and great quality... I try so hard to avoid watching any of their scrapbooking stuff because I want to buy it ALL!

Nicole: I wish I could go to Vegas with you! I'm not really into Timberlake, but I've always wanted to go to Vegas. Unfortunately I just can't swing two vacations in one month. I'm cutting it SO close on my PTO at work as it is, not to mention cutting it close on my bank account!

I have been really wanting to go to Goodwill, I just feel like there is something there that is calling to me. Too bad it's not really close to my house. It's very close to my old job, so I used to shop there a lot more often than I do now. There is one closer to my house, but it's not as nice, it's one of the dirtier scary locations. I think I might take the kids tonight if they're not too tired & crabby. My mom broke down & bought a season pass for the pool for them so they've been going every day, and it really wears them out. There is also an excellent Italian restaurant near Goodwill that we just LOVE.

Speaking of the pool, I was talking to Lyzzie yesterday and we decided to skip the waterparks on our upcoming WDW trip. I don't really enjoy them that much and we only have 2 visits left on our old non-exp. tickets, I'd rather save them for another time. We decided that since the SSR pool has a slide, we'll take a little more down time and maybe do mini golf or something new instead. I think it'll be a lot more fun that way, those water parks are stressful for me with all my water issues. I felt like a moron last time, yelling at Lyzzie that we HAD to get out of the wave pool NOW, I had a panic attack in 4 feet of water. D'oh!

 I would love to go. I've never been to Vegas and I really wanted to see Justin Timberlake and Pink when they came here but I missed it. I'm not sure if I could afford though, since our Disney trip is in Sept. and we're thinking of doing another trip in Dec and not going to Florida for Christmas, since it was such a nightmare with family drama. Who are you going with?

Come with me! I asked my sister and she said no, I'm going to try to convince her and I emailed my cousin and she hasn't responded yet. Steven can't afford both this and WDW.

Good morning, everyone!!:sunny:

TGIF!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Why don't we enjoy our breakfast by the ocean this morning? Afterwards, we can work on our tans!!:teeth:

I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday!!!

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

I got a great rate at MGM last night so I had to book it! So I'll be in Vegas Sept 2-4th!

Thanks for the beachfront breakfast, Donna. Tan? What tan?? I'm actually about as tan as I get right now, but you can't tell until I take off my shoes -- I've got a Crocs tan, complete with little tan spots where the holes are. It's lovely, I tell you.

Made it to Goodwill last night but I didn't get myself a darn thing. I forgot to look at the jewelry though, d'oh! That was one of the thing I wanted to check out! The kids got a ton of books and a couple videos, and they were bickering so much I finally had to drag them out of there. Emma just wanted to look at toys, but the place has gone downhill in the last few months and the toys were literally just tossed in a big pile along one wall, she kept tripping over things and falling down. I tried to distract her by bringing her to the books, and she screamed, "No, I HATE books!" (Hate seems to be her new favorite word - lovely.) A few minutes later she was begging me to read her something, so I reminded her that she hates books. "I don't want to hate books any more, I love them again."

TGIF people!! Anyone have plans for the weekend? We're supposed to get some rain so hopefully it'll cool down a bit, it's been nice in the mornings & evenings but pretty darn hot during the day. Emma wants to go back to the farm and moo at the cows, and Lyzzie and I would like to see the new summertime shows at Worlds of Fun. For such a crummy little amusement park, they have some pretty entertaining shows, including a trick dog show which is always fun.

Nicole: Congrats on getting to go to Vegas! It sounds like it'll be SO much fun -- wish I could go too but I'll be in WDW.

Hi Lyzziesmom, That's so cute about Emma, she hates reading and then she doesn't! I hope you have a good time wherever you end up this weekend!

I have no clue what I'll be doing this weekend.

Yes to everyone who asked I sent in a few postcards to YOAMD and won the lanyards. You would think that I won the lottery or something by the way I was acting, dh thought I had totally lost my mind. I would go into a heart attack if I ever won something big.

Donna~loved the breakfast this morning the beach would be great right now, but no tan for me. Well at least not until I burn first then I tan.:lmao:

Lyzziesmom~my oldest ds does the same thing about reading. One day I will find him sitting fascinated with his books and the next day they are being used as projectile objects around the house.:sad2:

BTW~Underdog I don't mix well with Guiness too much Irish in me I guess and besides the fact it is like drinking a loaf of bread. Give me a sunken treasure any day!

Since I saw the picture of the RNR I had to share my pic of my first time on it this last March. Sorry the pic is so big got to figure out how to resize them. That is me and dh in the front seat and dh best friend behind us (his wife refused after riding TOT)

surfergrl: What a great picture! You look like you don't know whether to laugh or scream, I love it. And your DH's friend is obviously whooping it up. I love that ride! I'm so excited that my DD8 (Lyzzie) has finally decided to try it on our upcoming trip. It will be her first upside-down rollercoaster - what a way to be introduced to them, huh? I've told her all about it and she's a little scared but a lot excited, she thinks the taking off fast part will make the loops easier. I hope she loves it as much as I do!

I'm still thinking of taking the girls to the Omaha zoo. I might even do something crazy... just hop in the car and go, without hotel reservations, and hope we can find something cheap and decent. I used to do that all the time in college, and we even did that on some family roadtrip vacations. We would just find a motel along the way and stop in for the night. Do people still do that?

It's going to be super hot this weekend, but our weekends are pretty booked up until late July so it's now or never. The only downside is, the kids VBS class is scheduled to sing in church on Sunday and we would miss that -- but they're not sure they want to anyway. I've just got the travel bug and feel like I need to get away and do something different for a day or two!! So if you guys don't hear from me this weekend, you'll know where we are. But chances are common sense will prevail and we will just stay home.

Surfergrl- I love the expression on your face! Great pic!

Lyzziesmom- Going to the zoo sounds fun! I hope you're able to go!

Surfergrl, the expression on your face is priceless. When I am brave enought to ride that (which isn't often) My head is down and eyes closed.

Lyzziesmom, my mom never makes reservations. Neither does Mike's family. I would love to do something, but Mike's friend is suppose to come up. I don't think we will do anything.

Nicole, how great that you are going to Vegas!! I would love to go, but I don't think I could be trusted. ;)

Thanks Amber, that really made me feel better. I feel a little bit crazy just hopping in the car and driving to a city I've never been to, but it's really exciting! It's only about 3 hours away, so with a dinner break it shouldn't be too bad. I went home at lunchtime and packed a suitcase for the weekend, but I was almost back to work when I realized I forgot Lyzzie's blankie! Now I know she should be old enough to deal with not having it for a night or two, and she has in the past at my mom's house, but I don't expect her to have to in a strange city in a hotel, and for the car ride too. I will either stop by & get it later or my mom will swing by my house & pick it up. I asked her to get the girls swimsuits ready and have them ready to go, but not to tell them where we are going. I want to see how long it takes before one of them starts asking where we are going.

I'm so excited, I just love spontaneous things like this! I'm a little worried about finding a hotel, but I'm sure we will be fine. In a way it's better than having reservations because I don't have to worry about trying to find a specific place at night when we are tired & crabby, we can just stop when we feel like it. Wish me luck! I have to go do some mapquesting now!

Lyzziesmom, have a great time!!! It isn't a holiday weekend so you should be fine in getting a hotel.

That's what I figured. From looking online, it looks like a lot of places have availability but they don't usually let you book online for the same day. No worries!

Hi everyone!

My plans for the weekend....hmmm. Probably nothing because that tiny sore throat I had yesterday has turned into a terrible cold. :badpc: Last night I went to bed around 8:30 (which is unheard of for me!!). I woke up around 11:30 and stayed up until around 2 and went back to sleep. I got up this morning at 8 and then took a "nap" at 11 until just now, so I guess my body is trying to sleep this thing out :confused3 It's been pretty miserable though, not very good sleep either. I hope I start feeling better soon! I'm hoping its not strep because my throat hurts SO bad and my ears are hurting. I have a cough but it isn't really wet (sorry if this is TMI) its more wheezy.

We did end up at Costco last night even though I was feeling horrible!!! Jeremiah dragged me there just so he could look at the baked goods :badpc: We ended up getting acouple other things though. That store is NOT good to go shopping in when you are hungry! He kept throwing things in the cart and I would put them back behind his back.;)
