Good morning everyone
Well, yesterday Jeremiah got some good/bad news. I remember telling you guys that his boss told him he was going to be getting a pretty substantial raise when he returned from being out of the country. He "swore on his house, his wife, his kids"

he would get a raise because Jeremiah is so severely underpaid. This man has several family members working for him that get paid WAY more and do much, much less and have less responsibility and it just isn't fair. Since Jeremiah does the payroll, he knows that information which makes him feel worse

Anyway, the boss came back yesterday, and told him "Jeremiah you are a very good member of this team, you do your work on time and efficently, you have a good attitude" blah blah blah, which is why I'm giving you a raise of an extra 4 thousand dollars a year"
Is this even allowed? I mean, I'm sure it is because he didn't get the number of the raise in writing or officially but this man promised and now he's acting like he never gave that number.

He's acting like Jeremiah should be "grateful" for this when it comes out to like an extra 75 dollars a week.

Which doesnt even pay for the health insurance I was going to get with the money with this raise.
I don't mean to sound not grateful, but he was severally underpaid in the first place. I am grateful he even has a job because several employees were laid off, which gave Jeremiah more responsibility with his job but not more money. There is no
way he could replace Jeremiah with even probably half of what he makes now.

He doesn't seem to realize it. He thinks that people will do anything for him, "because they are a team" but yet doesn't have that attitude when it comes to peoples salaries. He actually thinks he can call people on the weekends, ask them to come in, come them at 11pm at night, and have this be ok.

This is not a salaried position! Luckily, I answered the phone one night when he called very late and that nipped that in the bud real quick.

I guess these other guys have wives let their husbands leave them in the hospital when having surgury (!!!!!!) (this is a true story) because this boss has the balls (excuse my french) to call them during this time. You should have heard me when he called when I was about to have oral surgery and was in agonizing pain

I think that embarrased Jeremiah pretty badly but, atleast he stopped calling over, and over and over and over! Hello this isn't brain surgery, you aren't a doctor (actually he is but not a medical one!) peoples lives don't depend on this. ?
Anyway, to say the least, I am very disappointed and that is the tip of the iceburg for Jeremiah and the feelings it is causing him.
You guys don't have to read this whole thing, I'm just venting, but thank you if you did.

I know its pretty heavy for a Friday. I have just felt really depressed lately. It just feels like no matter what, we can't get ahead and I guess I'm just feeling a little depression because this job when offered to Jeremiah was offered alot and this is why I left my family. Now I'm just lonely

and generally feeling sorry for myself. Jeremiah is looking for a new job and has been for several months but I guess this just pushed him over the edge to take whatever it offered him, even if it is for the same pay.
Anyway, back to your regularlly scheduled programming.
I'm just trying to cheer myself up...atleast its Friday!
