Donna, the donuts look fabulous - thanks!!

Michele - I'm speechless.... Thank God no one was hurt and the house itself is still OK. You have certainly had your share of big events in your family lately. Hang in there. :grouphug:

:wave2: Mornin' everybody!

Good morning everyone!

Michelle-- Thank God no one was hurt!

Lesa-- I sure hope Maddie feels better soon! Hopefully it will help to have the city commissioner on your side! We're going out on the weekend of the 23rd to look for houses. It all still feels a little unreal.

Donna-- Thanks for breakfast!

Thank God it's Firday! Hope everyone has a great day!

OMG...as if things aren't crazy enough around here...:confused3

I had the house to myself this afternoon...Lilly was at her dad's and the kids were all out...so I'm relaxing on the couch when the phone rings. Some lady tells me who she is, but the name doesn't ring any bells, then she tells me that she lives next door to Blake's parents and their garage just EXPLODED!!!!:scared1: :scared1:

It had just happened and they didn't know if his parents were home...she said they had been banging on the doors and there was no answer. Well, his parents refuse to get a cell phone so we have no way to get in touch with them:rolleyes:

I call Blake at work and get him out of a meeting, then call his sister who hangs up on me. Matt was over there so I called his cell to see if she even heard me, he said they were already in the car...then I ran to get Nick from Kung Fu and we went there too. On the way my brother Mike called, they live in the city where he is a cop and heard the call, so he called to see if we knew...I told him we were on the way but to let them know that Blake's dad is on oxygen and that is where he stores the tanks, empty and full....which now explains the 6 separate explosions!!!

So we are all standing around in the freezing cold, the wind chill is 21 degrees, watching the garage burn. Mike was able to go in back, apparently the siding on the whole back of the house is melted as well as both neighbors garages on the side facing my IL's.

When his parents pulled up they had no idea what was going on, they saw Briana first so she was the one to tell them:sad2:

Luckily no one was hurt, unless you count the old MG of Blake's brothers that he had stored in their garage. The fire men said they couldn't even see a car in there, they wanted to know if it was made of plastic:rotfl:

Right now they have no power because the power lines were damaged, but as soon as that is fixed they can at least get back in the house. Except for the melted siding I don't think there was any damage to the house. No one even mentioned if any windows were blown out!

They were very lucky!!

Blake is still over there taking care of things.
Oh, Michele, how horrible. Luckily nobody was hurt – that’s the main thing. And by the picture, it is lucky that the garage (and the MG) was the only thing that was damaged. If that had been an attached garage, the whole house might have been destroyed.

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday. Yay!! It’s Friday!! And it’s PAYDAY!!

Donna – Thanks for the donuts!!

Well, Chase came home with a letter from school saying that he did not pass the vision test they gave at school. Well, it said that he could nor read the line that he “should” have been able to read.

I need to get him to the optometrist next week.

Good morning everyone

Well, yesterday Jeremiah got some good/bad news. I remember telling you guys that his boss told him he was going to be getting a pretty substantial raise when he returned from being out of the country. He "swore on his house, his wife, his kids"  he would get a raise because Jeremiah is so severely underpaid. This man has several family members working for him that get paid WAY more and do much, much less and have less responsibility and it just isn't fair. Since Jeremiah does the payroll, he knows that information which makes him feel worse :rolleyes1 Anyway, the boss came back yesterday, and told him "Jeremiah you are a very good member of this team, you do your work on time and efficently, you have a good attitude" blah blah blah, which is why I'm giving you a raise of an extra 4 thousand dollars a year"

Is this even allowed? I mean, I'm sure it is because he didn't get the number of the raise in writing or officially but this man promised and now he's acting like he never gave that number. He's acting like Jeremiah should be "grateful" for this when it comes out to like an extra 75 dollars a week. Which doesnt even pay for the health insurance I was going to get with the money with this raise.

I don't mean to sound not grateful, but he was severally underpaid in the first place. I am grateful he even has a job because several employees were laid off, which gave Jeremiah more responsibility with his job but not more money. There is no way he could replace Jeremiah with even probably half of what he makes now. :rolleyes1 He doesn't seem to realize it. He thinks that people will do anything for him, "because they are a team" but yet doesn't have that attitude when it comes to peoples salaries. He actually thinks he can call people on the weekends, ask them to come in, come them at 11pm at night, and have this be ok. This is not a salaried position! Luckily, I answered the phone one night when he called very late and that nipped that in the bud real quick.:rolleyes1 I guess these other guys have wives let their husbands leave them in the hospital when having surgury (!!!!!!) (this is a true story) because this boss has the balls (excuse my french) to call them during this time. You should have heard me when he called when I was about to have oral surgery and was in agonizing pain :rolleyes1 I think that embarrased Jeremiah pretty badly but, atleast he stopped calling over, and over and over and over! Hello this isn't brain surgery, you aren't a doctor (actually he is but not a medical one!) peoples lives don't depend on this. ?

Anyway, to say the least, I am very disappointed and that is the tip of the iceburg for Jeremiah and the feelings it is causing him.

You guys don't have to read this whole thing, I'm just venting, but thank you if you did. I know its pretty heavy for a Friday. I have just felt really depressed lately. It just feels like no matter what, we can't get ahead and I guess I'm just feeling a little depression because this job when offered to Jeremiah was offered alot and this is why I left my family. Now I'm just lonely :guilty: and generally feeling sorry for myself. Jeremiah is looking for a new job and has been for several months but I guess this just pushed him over the edge to take whatever it offered him, even if it is for the same pay.

Anyway, back to your regularlly scheduled programming.

I'm just trying to cheer myself up...atleast its Friday! :cool1:

Oh Ashlely, I'm so sorry! That really sucks he did not get the raise he was promised.:sad2: Dh has been in that position several times, and in the end it makes you think why try so hard.:sad2: You better believe if Jeremiah was to quit, his boss would realize how good he had it with such a good worker. DH has left positions that he watched fall apart when he left. ;) I'm sorry your so lonely, I really know how that feels. I was about your age when we left family behind to move to Florida.

Ashley- I'm sorry about Jeremiah's raise. His boss seems like a jerk. Hopefully he'll find an even better job!:grouphug:

Thank you Lesa and Nicole, It's hard right now and it hasn't gotten easier since we moved here in December 2004. And I thought it would be easy

I think the problem is I never leave the house unless Jeremiah is with me. I don't drive so I can't drive him to work and go anywhere, I think that is why I am so frusterated! I know it will get better, (atleast I hope so) and I really do feel bad because Jeremiah must feel much much worse! But he doesnt really understand my position, he isn't always alone. He says "well I'm at work!!" but atleast he is getting some other face to face, human contact! And I don't want to take it out on him, because it isn't his fault. He does try really hard and is a great husband! So I guess I'm just venting right now.

Ashley: That stinks about Jeremiah's boss. I guess his idea of a "substantial" raise is not the same as yours, is it? I'd say in the future he needs to get everything in writing, and I agree that looking for another job sounds like a good idea. I hope things get better soon, I know it's very frustrating.

Michele: Now that Lilly's back home, will we be seeing any new pictures any time soon? (hint hint!)

Hi to everyone else and Happy Friday!! :):):)

Well, to me it was substantial but he didn't use that word, he used an actual figure!!! I guess that was his mistake. Thanks for the kind words. Atleast it is more money which I am grateful for!!

Good morning!

Both girls are back at school!:dance3:party: I have to thank you all for your well wishes for Miss Madison, she only has the tinest bit of a wheeze this morning. :cool1: The trade off is I think the medicine she is on right now is making her more irritable!!!! :headache: But she's in school so they can deal with the crabyness for the day!:woohoo: :rotfl2:

I finally get to go baby shopping!!!!!!!!:yay:

Michele.........NEW PICTURE PLEASE!!!!!!!:flower3:

Ashley, can I ask why you don't drive?

Lesa, I'm so glad your girls are feeling better!!! :cool1: That is great news, and it atleast its Friday so if she still is a little sick she'll still have the weekend to recover!!!

I'm watching the show on MTV called "Juvies" :scared1: Whew this show makes me scared to have kids!!!

Ashley, can I ask why you don't drive?

I just never passed the test. I took it twice and failed so I guess I feel like I can't do it. I guess its just a mental thing. I've had my permit since November 2003. I was thinking of trying again when I visit home, because I want to keep my Florida license (and in Virginia as part of the test you have to parallel park! I definitely can't do that!!!!) I know its stupid, if I could pass the test and drive Jeremiah to work, or even get a cheap car it would be better and maybe I could get a part time job and meet new people.

Ashley:hug: :grouphug: I know you must feel so frustrated and alone:guilty: but we're here for you! I know it would be much better if we were local and could pick you up, do some shopping and have a nice lunch...but I guess we'll have to settle for wdw trips for now ;) Hopefully something will open up in FL and you can move back near your family. My boss sounds like Jeremiahs:sad2: Kenny sends his hugs too :)

LESA!!! Yay for the girls doing better:cool1: baby shopping is so much fun!!!!:cheer2:

yes Michele...if you do have just a few moments sometime:rolleyes1 we know Lilly needs to have a pix posted so we can adore her with you!
