Welcome Watersbland!

Hello all!!

I have been so busy lately I haven't had time to really post anything. I think the only major thing I missed was Linda's anniversary. Sorry sweetie!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Last Friday, over a week ago, because of all the VT copycats, plus the fact that it was the anniversary of Columbine I asked both the boys to keep their cell phones on them during the day. I have never told them to do that before...school rule states that they have to be turned off and kept in the locker during school. No one seems to follow that, I take away at least 3 a week. ( they get them back from the principal at the end of the day) So I was deliberately telling my boys to break the rules! So unlike me!!

During the 1st lunch the principal was leaving the building for a meeting and we had a teacher in charge. She came up to Barb and I and told us there was an 'incident' at the High School and we were in partial lock down!!

I'm sure I told you, our HS and MS are connected by the pool, we are shaped like a horseshoe. So the 'incident' was next door PLUS that is where Matt is!!

A few minutes later my phone rings...it is Matt...He is saying they are at lunch, there was a bomb threat and he is afraid for his life and wants to go home!! I might have been more worried if he wasn't laughing and I could hear all of his friends laughing. I told him to sit down, shut up and follow directions!

After we got all the kids to their classes after lunch we went into full lock down. We told the MS that it was just a drill. We had to wait until we got the call from the superintendent telling us it was all clear before we could release anyone. It took only about 30 minutes tho.

Turned out that someone, a stupid someone! wrote words on a desk. Something like..."At the end of the day, who will survive?" Of course in this day and age that was taken as a threat...turned out to be lyrics to a punk rock song. The police were in the HS all day. On Monday the kids were told they couldn't bring any purses, backpacks or sports bags to school. There have been no more problems. Thank God!!

At the middle school tho, first thing in the morning the principal announced that for the rest of the year any student that needed to leave their class for any reason...needed to have an escort...guess who that is?? Barb and I keep getting called all day to take this kid to the bathroom, this one to his locker, etc. I should be skinny by June if this keeps up!!! I am up and down the stairs all day. There are some classes I really enjoy being called out of!;)

We had Blake's family over today for Nick's birthday. It went fine. They were here for about 4 hours, by the end of it I was exhausted. They are a draining bunch!! This was the first time they have been here since New Year's. You would think they lived far away. The furthest one lives 5 miles away!

Blake leaves tomorrow for Miami. It's so hard to let him go to Florida by himself! I don't really want to go any of the places he goes except Florida and Vegas!

We got Lilly's room completely done today. I will take some pictures tomorrow when it is sunny and post them. I really love her room.

Here are new pics of Lilly...

Underdog----I'm glad you had a good time visiting your sister. Wow, one of seven kids!! Do you all live in the same area, or spread out across country??
Don't worry, there is always enough breakfast!!! That's the lovely thing about a cyber breakfast----any time of day it's plentiful and yummy.
Thanks for the personalized edit!!! Love it!!:cool2:

We all live in the same state. (My baby brother is actually a thespian, so he lives in the big city). :yay: But I have Cousins all over the country. HUGE family all my aunts and uncles on my father side had 7 or more puppies… Well we have an excuse (Irish Catholic Puppies).;)

Good Morning All!

Michele, Lilly is just the cutest!! I can't wait to see her room.

Linda, Happy Belated Birthday!

I spent several hours trying to get my pictures uploaded, but my computer was having issues. I have some that I will post and try to get the rest done this week. I am missing a memory card and some pictures are stuck on the cards I do have. :guilty: I am hoping I can receover those and find the other card (it has about 700 pictures on it).

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning ducklings! (Amber's photo inspired me this morning.) Amber, those pictures are great! I can never get my nighttime pictures to come out so clear, how do you do it? Where was that picture with all the Lego people taken? That looks like something Lyzzie would like to see. Was it at the DTD Lego store? I've never been inside there, always seem to run out of time.

Michele: Lilly is so cute! She looks like she is a lot of fun. And baby feet... awwwww. At the mall yesterday the kids got a free bracelet from Libby Lu and the girl who put Emma's on her was just amazed by Emma's pudgy little baby-fat hands and arms.

Underdog: Mmmmmmm, ice cream.

I have so much to do this week! Not only is it month-end so I have a ton of reports to do, but I have to train a temp on Friday and get everything in order for the training. I honestly don't know why they are hiring a temp for only 4 days. We have two people already trained as backup for the front desk, they are the mailroom girls who cover while I'm at lunch or out on a sick day. I guess they just want to make sure, because if one of them doesn't show up they are kind of screwed. It still seems like a monumental waste of company resources to me though - temps are so expensive for what you get!!

Trying to catch up on the weekend happenings….

Pozey---:lmao: somehow that doesn't surprise me that Courtney has no problem on thrill rides. It's amazing what some kids (and grown-ups) will or will not do. Wow, Chase has ridden Mission Space???? (where's the green pukey smilie??) Maybe one day he will get up the nerve to ride RnR ------easy for me to say!!
Yeah, it’s funny………Chase LOVED Mission: Space. It was one of his favorite rides. And we rode the more intense side. His other favorite is Test Track. And I think it is all about control. He loves doing daredevil type things…….but only when he is in control.

I got caught in a hailstorm on the way home. I had to stop at the bank to get cash to use as change for the garage sale... missed the closing time by 5 minutes so I went to the driveup window but it's been so long since I've done that, that I forgot how to get money without using my card! D'oh! I decided to hit the ATM and get change somewhere else, but the dang machine wouldn't take my card and that's when the hail started, of course it was coming into my car SIDEWAYS. It was so loud, I couldn't even hear Emma in the backseat crying with fear until it subsided.
Yikes! That sounds like it was quite a storm.

A belated Happy Birthday to Linda!! Hope you had a wonderful day!!

I'm Back!!! I am trying to catch up on what has happened while I have been away.

The trip was good and bad.

The good points: The weather was great. It only rained for two minutes on Friday, but otherwise it was nice. I got to see the Laugh Floor Comedy Club; that was really cute. The Flower and Garden Festival was nice. Epcot was beautiful. I was able to find the tea lights I collect (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy's, etc houses) at the outlet for $20 a piece (they are normally $50-100). The food was amazing; we did change up our plans a bit and missed a couple meals, but we did get the chance to try the Brown Derby. I LOVED it. The Mexico ride is cute too. We also learned the joys of park hoppers. We are usually commandos, but this time we took it slow, took breaks during the day, and it was awesome.

The bad: My mom and I are not speaking to one another. She screamed at me in the middle of Epcot (long story, but I was having trouble finding her keys and she said if I didn't give them to her, she would call security). She got nasty with us on several occassions, but during the times she was acting sane, we had a good time with her.

On the drive home, she got very nasty with Mike, calling him names and telling us to get out of the car (in NC). We made it home, but I want nothing more to do with her. She hurt my feelings more than she will ever know and I have no idea what brought it on. All I wanted to do was show her a good time, but it just ended so horribly. I was in tears most of the trip.
I am so terribly sorry to hear about the fight you and your mother had. Just give it a little bit of time and hopefully you two will work things out.

Your pictures are great. Can't wait to see more!

Hi everyone! I didn't miss as much as I thought I would around here yesterday. The garage sale went well - we brought in almost $300! Lyzzie sold everything of hers except one pair of shoes, I couldn't believe it.
Sounds like you had a very successful garage sale!!

Michele – GREAT pictures of Lily!! She’s very cute. :cutie:

Thanks Lyzziesmom! For Spectro, I used a fast lens and cranked up the ISO. Some didn't turn out (mainly the Spectromen) but I am happy with most of them. Same thing for the Castle pictures. I should have used a tripod, but I didn't feel like lugging it around.

The Lego people are from the Lego store. My brother spent a good portion of his money in there. It's a cute store and fun place.

Here's another picture of the same people:

Oh, and here is the castle Mike refused to buy me. I can't imagine why he wouldn't.

yes, it really cost $37,500.00!!!

What kind of camera and lens do you have?

I have a Pentax k100d. For Spectro, I used my 50mm 1.4 lens. I mainly used that or the 18-55mm kit lens. At AK, I mostly used my 70-300mm lens.

I want to get a 18-200mm lens for my birthday. I know I will lose some picture quality (my pictures aren't gallery worthy anyway), but it will be nice to have that big of a range at WDW without having to keeping changing lenses.

Mike sister and mom did join us Thursday and Friday. We had a great time with them. We did mention to them that we may come back in Sept, but didn't comfirm anything. I think that if they do come, we will just meet up with them in the parks and not worry about spending all our time with them.

It's strange to be back and I wish I were still there. I took MANY pictures and am trying to get them uploaded. I'll share with you soon.

I'm so sorry to hear you had such a terrible time with your mom. I loved your pictures by the way, you must have a really good camera.

:welcome:
you'll have to let us know about the AKL rumor we heard...do the dvc tour and get a night there free ;)
:rolleyes1

Lizziesmom...congrats on the garage sale.

Michele....Lilly is growing so fast. Could you send me a picture of Bree and Lilly. I can't wait to see her room.

It's been quite busy around here. I have lots of great stories to tell you all, but I don't have time right now. I can't remember if I told you guys the results of my tests. The only thing that came back with a problem was my cholesterol.:confused3 My thyroid is fine, I go to see the doctor tomorrow to see why it was so swollen if the test came back with nothing. I guess that is a good thing. I still don't get the whole cholesterol thing.

Seems I missed some important days.................................................
