I have to post a story Brittany wrote for her Language Arts class about Lilly. It is the sweetest thing. It shows the emotions through a 12 year olds eyes.
Brittany's assignment was to write a story in second person point of view with a lot of voice.

You never think it will happen to you until it happens to you. Your called into the living room wondering what's going on. You find out your cousin is going to have a baby and it's due tomorrow. You sit in shock trying to let it all sink in.

Your dad tells you you're going to Michigan to show her that you love her.

You leave Thursday for that 6 hour journey to their house. When you see her you give her a hug on Friday. A big hug and tell her you love her.

Saturday comes and she goes into labor. You're left to worry with her youngest brother and your sister.

Hours pass and you still don't have any news.

Finally around 1:00 you get that heart stopping call that tells you that there was a new life in the world. Like a flower, Lilly is born.

Two days later you find out she stays. She's not going to be leaving your family for another.

Your cousins ready, ready to be a mom!

OMG, I'm crying again! You wouldn't think I'd have any tears left.:rolleyes1

It makes me so sad to think of what she went thru before she told us. I really thought she knew she could come to us with anything....Everyone...keep repeating that to your kids...I told her but I guess I haven't mentioned it lately.

Crap, I was showing David the picture of Lilly and my post about the garage incident was right below it. He saw his name, now he knows! :scared1: He asked if there was damage, I told him "not so you'd notice".:rolleyes1

 You're not THAT far away ;)

I keep wanting to buy that bear every single trip and always talk myself out of it for some reason.

I'm so glad everything turned out ok. For Bree and the baby, health wise!

We just may have to see about a "de-stressing" short trip. :) I still have my 4 day pass left from last time:rolleyes1

Sorry Lesa!!!

I would love it!!! Talking Mike into it, might take some work. I can do my best;) I'm on expedia checking flights:rolleyes1

Let me know of any good deals!:dance3:

on the flexible calendar, there are several rates for $142 out of Ohare'. the best I could find out of Columbus was $160. That's not bad...but x's 3...:rolleyes1 Have to work on him ;)

Ok, here goes....I have a story to tell and you had all better be sitting down!!

The Monday before our convention our 19 year old daughter comes to Blake and I and tells us she is pregnant...not only that she is due in 3 weeks:scared1:

To say we were shocked would be an understatement. The father is her ex-boyfriend and he is only 16!!

Doesn't this just keep getting better and better? She managed to hide it from almost everyone! Ask Lesa...we couldn't tell.. She was at school, work, friends or in her room..if she was in the living room she had a blanket over her lap...but we all do that, so it wasn't strange.

She tells us she is giving it up for adoption but at this point had seen no one...not even a doctor!!! I take her to my OB who delivered her, the next day. And she makes an appointment to see an adoption agency...her appt...the Friday I would be in WDW!! So my mom agrees to take her.

Thank God for our trip to WDW, the timing was perfect for me to get away and deal with all the stuff in my head!!

So Bree goes to the agency...I get a call later while sitting outside Imagination that the visit went well and Bree had tentatively picked a lovely couple. OK Great...it was like a huge weight was off my shoulders.

Got thru the weekend, fly home Tues night, Wed 7:15 AM I get a call from Zach's ( the father) mother. He told her literally 15 minutes earlier...we need to meet. Yes, they all come over that night. They look like we did the week before:eek: :sad1: We all agree adoption is the best thing. Call the agency get a meeting for the following Tues to meet the couple go over everything...Get thru the next few days...Blake has to fly to Memphis and has to miss the meeting:mad: Bree and I get there...Zach's parents and Zach are there...no couple. His parent's have decided they want the baby but they will go along with whatever Bree wants. I look like someone hit me in the face with a brick!!

We go home have long conversations...adoption is best for the baby...go back to new meeting...tell everyone that...make another meeting to meet the couple....2 days later meet the couple...darling people...come home feeling like they are a gift from God!!

It is now last Friday...David, Lesa, my sister Melissa and Lesa's girls all come home...we spend Friday night together, everything is fine...

Sat morning I come down at 9, Bree meets me and says she is in labor:eek: We get her to the hospital at 10:30, at 11 she is 4 cm, at 12 she is 7cm, at 12 she is 9cm, the doctor arrives about 12:20 and breaks her water...there is meconium! This baby has to come soon...at 12:40 she is complete and is told to start pushing there is a chance for a c-section...baby girl born at 12:55 Sat afternoon.

Briana did great, and baby is in great shape! Whole family comes...

All weekend Briana kept changing her mind...keep her, don't keep her....she knew what was best but she also knew she really wanted to keep her...Monday morning we were all there to say goodbye when Bree breaks down and says she can't do it....we are taking home a baby!!!

Blake runs out to get a car seat! ( Gets the wrong kind...we get her home and take it back later)

So we now have 7 lb 8 oz, 20 in Lillian Marie ( Lilly) living in our house which is completely unprepared!! We have been going crazy getting the things that a baby needs.

I am torn...the thought of saying goodbye to someone I saw be born, was heartbreaking, but...I am still so concerned about my baby's( Bree) future:sad1: I don't know what to think right now! Literally taking it minute by minute. I stayed at the hospital both nights and slept in Bree's room to help her so have had very little sleep. Crashed like the dead last night.

Please keep us all in your prayers...we may need them!!

Oh here she is...

Hopefully this all made sense....and to those who were on the trip....Thank you...you have no idea how much I needed that weekend....when can we go back? I need it again!!
Wow. I don't know what to say other than you and your family will be in my prayers tonight.

She is a beautiful girl. God will provide.

I just didn't think I was going to have a baby in my house again. This is taking some getting used to!!

Michele: what a load to have put on your shoulders, not to mention your poor daughter. I'm going to tell you a little story, take it however you wish. When I got pregnant with Lyzzie, I had just turned 23. Not much older than Briana, but those 4 years do make a huge difference at that age. I had been with my then-boyfriend for about 3 or 4 months at the time, and he was making plans to move from FL to NM with a friend to pursue a music career (it never happened). I was unemployed, and had just been evicted from my apartment and moved back in with my parents. I was way past my eyeballs in debt, and had just days before consulted with a lawyer about bankruptcy. Then I found out I was pregnant. Even at 23, I was scared to death to tell my mom. So scared in fact, that I broke out in hives late one night. The hives were so bad, they had developed inside my throat and my mom sat up all night with me to make sure I didn't stop breathing, calling the dr. every couple of hours to see if they could page her. When she finally reached the dr, the dr. told her "well we can't give her anything because she is pregnant." I of course didn't hear this side of the conversation, but I knew something was up because my mom hung up the phone, told me we were going to the ER, and hugged me. We are not a hugging family.

When my dad found out, his first reaction (remember I was 23 years old... two years older than my mom was when I was born, three years older than she was when she got married) was to tell me to have an abortion. In fact, his exact words were, "If you don't kill it, I'm leaving this family." Needless to say, that was just stress talking and it didn't happen.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is, my family came about in a less than ideal way, but I wouldn't trade my kids for the world. I thank God that I had my parents and my boyfriend's parents there to help me for the first year of Lyzzie's life, which came and went in a flash. For me personally, there never was any option other than to keep her, no matter what the cost. I know that together, you and Briana will make the decision that is right for your family. It sounds like you and she already have. Lilly is a gorgeous baby, and I'm sure she will bring her family a lot of joy. Good luck and God bless.

Linda: I was checking flight prices again today too! I did find some good deals on AirTran for the first week of May, $69 each way from KC to MCO, nonstop. The times are not ideal, it's a night flight there and I am used to first thing in the morning, but I could adjust. ;) I've been seriously considering it all day, between that and the AP discount for room-only, I could get there & back for a few days for under $700. I went last year in mid-May and it was great, low crowds, not too hot... ahhh I'm almost talking myself into it! Since Emma's bday is in June, we just call it her bday trip. :thumb:
