Got alittle sad last night because I found the Mickey sweatshirt at Wal-mart for $9 but I didn't get it since I'm not going. Donna- I saw an extra large. I would be happy to send it to you, if you'd like.
Oh, Ash, don't be sad.:sad2: Buy one for yourself.....it will be our official Cliqueless Sweater!!! There will be other trips in cool weather. Buy one!! Thanks for the offer, Sweetie!!! It's already taken care of!!!!:thumbsup2

Lin:: I started reading your Trippie this morning!! I can't wait for more!!

YourMajesty:: I know you've got to be ready for the ice to melt and the kids back to school!!! I hope the bright OK sun melts the skating rink soon!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Hi everyone :upsidedow

Just checking in to say hello. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Nothing much new here, except the tooth ache I had at Christmas time came back. I'm not sure what to do because the dentist said that nothing is wrong with it. :confused3 I hope its nothing serious. The dentist I go to is in Florida and I dont want to have to find a new one. I know that sounds silly, but I'm VERY senstive when it comes to dentists because I've had some really bad experiences at differene ones. Its weird because when I chew the pain goes away. :confused3 So I've been chewing gum all day!! (not popping it, Pozey :) isn't that you who hates when people pop their gum?)

I had cracked a tooth this weekend, and it looks like a root canal, and a crown. :sad2: Believe me I feel your pain. :sad1: Also, I was going to WDW in July, but after all the rain we've had in Ohio I have a basement wall that is getting wet. So any money that would have gone for the trip is now going twards a basement waterproofing! :headache:

The last time I was there was in the 80's, and after 5 days of rain, followed by a snowstorm yesterday I want to go back. :sad1:

Yeah, there were about 40 kids tonight. That's still quite a bit. We'll see how many last I guess. Kenny did so great tonight. I was really proud of him. Most of the kids are bigger than him (hard not to be) but he tried w/all his might and did awesome! I think it's $ well spent too... even if I drive it another 6 months to a year and then look for something...It does have 230k miles on it now:rolleyes1

Nicole....

Some wine in the making for you ;) Apple, grape, and blackberry!! Yummm.

Usually the number of kids attending will start to fall off, so it will become easier. As long as he keeps going out there he'll do great. Speaking from experience you'll will have to get yourself ready for the first match, and the chance he'll lose. The kids usually cry, and become very upset, but that's the make or break time for them. Get him past that, and he'll do very well! :thumbsup2 Now about that wine... when will it be done, and what time should I come over? :rolleyes1

Oh no! Remember how I was not thrilled with the 'Ohana menu, and I wanted to take Emma to Chef Mickey's and April wanted to come too? I just called Disney Dining and they are booked until 9pm that night!! I guess I will have to think of somewhere else, because I really don't want to pay for a meal I'm not going to eat. Maybe I can try again in a couple days and see if something opens up. I'm so disappointed!!
It seems like several places I don't care for how the menu looks and end up really liking the food. Hmmm maybe one of the restaurants at AKL? Would Emma like the animals there? Good luck finding something!! I'm sure something will open up. I'd keep checking back on Chef Mickeys too.

I wish I could talk to the principal tomorrow about it, but they are taking almost 400 kids to the Auto Show downtown. I can't figure out what the educational benefit of it is:confused3 but it was only $5 (normally $12) and it gets the kids out of school for the whole day. If I was still in school I would have signed up:rolleyes1
Hope you can talk to the principal about it for Matt. He should definitely be able to use his notes!!!
the tooth ache I had at Christmas time came back.

Awww..sorry Ashley! Hope your tooth ache goes away soon. Mike had a tooth ache that kept coming back and they ended up doing a root canal:guilty: I sure hope you don't have to do one of those! I completely understand about dentists though. Some are much better than others!:thumbsup2 Gotta go where you're comfortable. We'll all have to start saving now for our next trip. It will be here before we know it ;)

Donna...ok...sugar caffeine and one large UPS package on it's way.:rotfl: Tomorrow will be our fifth snow day this year. They add three days into the school calendar so we are now adding on days. The last two years we had a total of ONE snow day.

ups package:laughing: that's too cute!! Adding on days...bummer!

Ahhh thank you...that sure looks heavenly!!!:cloud9:

Sewer...so sorry about the root canal and basement problems!!!

I'll have to prepare him more for that ;) thank you! The very first night one of his friends ran off crying...when we were on our way home Kenny says...yeah, he must have gotten scared. He does very well handling situations..thinking things through. Well, we do have some wine that's already bottled and corked ;) There is a 2nd batch of grape wine about to be done. Apple wine that might have another month or so..then blackberry wine that will probably be a few months. He just started that one. The wine that's done is a sweeter wine and is pretty good. You can come over anytime ;)
Red20wine.jpg

we have a neighbor down the street that told us we could have all the grapes we wanted once they've gotten what they want...there were rows and rows not even touched!! Maybe next year we'll get more. Gives Mike something to do ;)

So I've been chewing gum all day!! (not popping it, Pozey :) isn't that you who hates when people pop their gum?)
Yep, that's me. That is the only positive to come from my cube move.......I moved away from my cube neighbor who popped her gum constantly.

I showed Emma her Princess dress and she seemed very excited, she said, "That's my costume!" So we tried it on and she HATES it!! She kept saying, "It's too small!" (I think she meant too big, which it's not) and she hates the way the sleeves are big and drapey around the wrist. She cried when she looked in the mirror! I sure hope she warms up to it. She hated her Halloween costume at first too, but we kept talking about how she would wear it to get candy and then she liked it just fine when it was time to wear it for real. At least I didn't spend a fortune on the Princess dress. I don't want to be one of those parents who drag their kids around the parks all dolled up against their will!
Oh, poor Emma. I'm sorry she didn't like her Princess dress. Maybe she will warm up to it. Just keep talking about how pretty she looks in it.

Linda – do you and Mike make your own wine? If so, that’s pretty cool. What is the process? How long does it take?

WELCOME BACK LIN!!!! Hope you had a great time. I am going to go start reading your trip report shortly. :cool1:

Well, my DW went back to work today. First time she has gone back to work since Friday. She works in Muskogee. I know my cliqueless neighbors who have been watching the news the past few days have seen the reports of how bad Muskogee got hit. Well, she keeps calling and telling me how BAD it looks there. She said the streets are completely clear, but almost every tree with the exception of Oak trees all have branches broken. She said some places look like a tornado went through because of the trees looking stripped and down. She said they got all ice. She said everything looks crystallized. She said that the power lines that have not been knocked down are hanging about 5 feet off the ground.

I wish I had sent my camera with her this morning.

Also for my Oklahoma buddies…….did you see the reports on the news about the little town of Okay being without power and such? That is the small town where I went to high school. Almost the entire town is without power. They are in the same boat as Muskogee – as it is only a few miles away – they got all ice.

Makes me thankful that we did not get the damage they did.

Good morning everyone!

It's a whopping 14 degrees here this morning.

YM-- yikes! That ice lookd bad. Be careful! We may get a lot of cold air and snow, but at least we don't get ice storms very often. I know what you mean about kids everywhere! I have one child by birth and about 10 others who have adopted my house as the main hangout! I don't mind at all. At least when they are all here I know what they are doing ;)

Michele-- Yeah for Matt's basketball team! :cool1:

Linda- That photo of the wine carboys looks familiar. My husband brews also. In fact, he has about 10 other people brewing as well. We're having a wine tasting at our house in February where everyone brings their wine over and we are going to taste it all. We are also doing a wine exchange so that everyone brings home an extra 2 or 3 bottles. Too bad we don't live closer to each other, we could do a Cliqueless wine tasting!

Welcome back Lin!!!

Hi Ashley! Hope your tooth gets better.

Donna-- What a perfect photo to start the day. Sittin' on the beach, drinkin' a little homemade wine, lookin' at Diamond Head, and Disin' with friends! I was just there in September and I want to go back already!

Sewer-- Hope your basement problems get better! So sorry about your tooth!

Well, gotta get my kiddo to school. Have a great day!

Oh, I have to tell you guys about this.........

On Monday, I received a phone call from a headhunter. She said that she had a company that was looking for a Lead Analyst for a company here in Tulsa. We talked about everything and decided to go ahead and send the company my resume. I should hear something later this week or early next week.

So, anyway, I decided to do some research about the company – what they do, how long they have in business, and so on. I go to their website, and I find some information on their executives. And then I found this nugget. Their Chief Operating Officer – who from what I gather would most likely be my boss – is Pamela McKissick. And I found this blurb on her background information:

McKissick also has held several positions and was instrumental in developing the successful marketing, promotion and creative for The Walt Disney World. Her titles included vice president of Network Specials and director of Creative Services for Walt Disney World/Epcot Center.

Is that not wild?

Morning, crew!
Thanks for the donuts, Donna!

Ashley - so sorry about your toothache... but GO TO THE DENTIST. Do you not have one in your area that you've used? If not, see if you can find one that caters to 'chickens', or specifically, 'gentle' dentistry. Trust me... I've been putting off this old root canal tooth for ages, and finally it just had to go away... which is why I'm still eating YOGURT today. I can handle dentists, until they come at me with needles.

Poor Emma - she just doesn't want to be a Princess, does she?

Welcome back, Lin!

Will touch base later~

Michele: Thanks for the explanation on the 504! Boy things sure have changed since I was in school, and it wasn't even all THAT long ago. I remember all the special needs kids going to a separate class for whichever subject(s) they had trouble with.

Ashley: Could your toothache be sinus problems? I went to the dentist last year with a horrible toothache, it seemed like it felt better if I put a lot of pressure on the tooth like biting down real hard or putting my fingernail between my teeth. (don't ask how I discovered that!) He x-rayed and it turned out my sinus cavities were totally filled with fluid on that side, although I wasn't having any other symptoms. I went to the regular dr, who confirmed it was a sinus infection and some antibiotics cleared it right up. Just a thought. I think you should get the sweater! Heck it's only $9, and as some others said, there WILL be more trips!! I like the idea of the "official Cliqueless sweater!"

Donna: that breakfast really hit the spot!

Oh, poor Emma. I'm sorry she didn't like her Princess dress. Maybe she will warm up to it. Just keep talking about how pretty she looks in it.

That's what I plan on doing. I had her tell my mom about it this morning, she's so cute she calls it her "cos-pume" and said it's pretty but it's too big. I think I will have to cut the end of the sleeves off because that seems to be the part that really bothers her. We will try it again today and see how it goes.

McKissick also has held several positions and was instrumental in developing the successful marketing, promotion and creative for The Walt Disney World. Her titles included vice president of Network Specials and director of Creative Services for Walt Disney World/Epcot Center.

Is that not wild?

That is amazing! If you interview with her, you will have to mention how much you love WDW, I'm sure that will help make a great connection with her. Good luck! :wizard:

DznyFan: I hope you have a nice easy day at work today.

I need to call the dentist today, don't you guys let me forget! I also need to make a dr. appointment, I need to get my pain meds refilled before going to WDW and they won't refill over the phone.

Lin: welcome back luv! I'm off to read your trip report now.

I should say Mike does ;) since he retired in July...he has to find things to keep him busy and this is his new adventure. He enjoys reading books about it and doing research online about it. The grape wine he just finished bottling took about 3 months if I remember correctly. You have to transfer it from container to container to filter everything that settles, add different things to make sure the acidity is correct, the alcohol content etc. As long as it tastes good, that's fine w/me ;) Kenny loves helping him with it. He liked smashing the grapes .

Sounds like your DW's work area is pretty bad. We had a bad ice storm in 04 and it was really bad. I worked in Vermont during an ice storm too:sad2: unbelieveable the damage it can do. No one had power in Vermont for a month, but they had the roads clear and generators at the phone co. and the hotel it didn't change our life much. Everyone in town was at our hotel to eat. It was about the only restaurant in town w/power.

A wine tasting in Feb. that sounds like a fabulous time! This is Mikes first year doing it by himself. He use to help his dad w/his ;) A cliquesless wine tasting sounds so awesome. Hmmm  maybe we can bring some on our next meet, if you're able to go. Ahhh sitting on the Disney Wonder w/a nice glass of wine w/our cliqueless crew:cloud9: That would be awesome if we lived closer!! My HS sweetheart lives in Denver... I got this email a few years ago from an Architecture firm...it was him:laughing: Small world!

If that's not a sign, I don't know what is :rotfl: Good luck! My boss loves Disney ..must be why we get along so great!

my co-worker leaves for his cruise tomorrow... He loves to torture me. He was on the beach and called me one year..."you hear that....THE OCEAN":rotfl: I got back from our cruise a few years ago that was during a hurricane, he put the weather channel pix w/the hurricane on my desktop:lmao: ..hmmm what should I do to him???? He is going to send me a pix on my phone of the Disney Magic just to torture me!!!

I need to call the dentist today, don't you guys let me forget! I also need to make a dr. appointment, I need to get my pain meds refilled before going to WDW and they won't refill over the phone.

I just made my phone calls and I can't believe it: I'm going to the dentist today at lunchtime, and the dr. tomorrow at lunchtime! (Sorry for quoting myself, it just seemed easier that way.)

Linda: Now you are making me thirsty for wine! It sounds like the winemaking is a fun hobby - it sure takes a lot of time, doesn't it? That's cute about Kenny smashing the grapes!
