Whoops, sorry Donna. My mistake - I updated my spreadsheet at home and forgot to update the one at work. I usually email it back & forth to myself but I forgot I made that one change. So for anyone who's wondering:

Donna's Arrival: Fri. 5:30pm
Donna's Departure: Tues. 12:05pm


Well I got my haircut fixed. I think. It's hard to tell because she straightened it, and I'm talking STICK straight. It looks good this way, but time will tell how it looks once it curls up again. Anything's got to be better than it was! Lesa, did you get back yet from getting your color fixed?

Lyzziesmom, I finally bought a new flat iron at Target and I can do my whole freakin' head in 15 minutes...I'm so excited! I'm usually wash and wear, but now I can straighten it the next day and go another couple days! Yippee!!

Lin- What brand is it? I've been needing a new flat iron for a while.

Lin: I have a couple of flat irons, but my hair is so thick it takes me almost an hour to straighten it all! It took the stylist a little over 30 minutes to do it. I actually have a kit at home that I bought last year for chemically straightening your hair at home, it's made for caucasian hair and supposed to be gentle and very easy, but I'm afraid to do it! Lyzzie's dad used to have longish hair and he used a straightener that was made for black hair, and he fried his hair so bad he had to shave it off, and he also gave himself chemical burns on his scalp. Of course, being a man, he didn't read the instructions. I'm hoping this straight style will last me through Friday - one less thing to worry about before the trip!

Nicole, its a Revlon ceramic barrel. It only cost about 25.00 and it works wonders.

Lyzziesmom, my hair is like that too. REALLY thick, really frizzy and I go through a hair ty a day because they break in my hair. The stylists usually take over an hour to do mine. But, I find that if I let it airdry and then straighten it the next day I can pull it into a claw clip, then pull down a section at a time and since it is totally dry I only have to run the straightener over each section about 3 times. I also broke down and bought Paul Mitchell Super Straight gel that I put in before I straighten it. Its the best! I might have to find the chemical straightener for us white gals. I asked a salon to do it about a year ago and they flat out refused...which makes me a little wary to try myself!

Lin, that's funny that they refused to do it! I've had stylists recommend straightening to me. My underneath layer by my neck is very kinky and frizzy, and the rest... not so much. More like big waves. And then there is one spot that is different every day, unfortunately it's right in the front. I did have to trim my bangs a little more when I got home, because she left them too long and they tend to flip at the sides - eek! Anyway, the product I have at home is called EasyStraight, and it has a picture of a brunette and a blonde on the box. It looks great, but I'm afraid to try it in case it fries my hair and I have to chop it off - I don't look good with very short hair!! Frizz city!!

I look like a brunette version of Little Orphan Annie with short hair. Its scary. Very scary.

And yep, they flat out told me no. They said they don't do it enough to know that it wouldn't cause permanent damage to my roots.

My hair is just poofy all over...the top is particularly frizzy.

Well my hair is much better than it was. It is very blond, much much lighter than I'm used to. Actually the color is very nice, I just think it would look better on someone else's head! I'm glad your hair turned out lizziesmom! I don't have to worry about straighting my hair, it's already as straight as a board!

That accident sounded really bad. I hope no one was seriously hurt!

Well the thing I hate most about going away somewhere is packing! I started, but I am just looking at the empty suitcase willing my clothes in it, but it's not working! I did pack my bag of M&Ms so I guess I'm all set!

Lesa, you're cracking me up with the M&Ms! I have this huge pile of stuff lumped on top of my suitcases, but no matter how many times I check on it, it still hasn't jumped inside. Guess I'll have to actually put everything in there myself. I actually like to get everything ready ahead of time, but I don't actually pack it in until the night before I leave. That way I don't have to keep unpacking to make sure I remembered everything. Of course, I always forget something anyway.

I'm usually grabbing things as I walk out the door. I am the most unorganized packer. Everyone keeps asking me if I packed yet. Duh, I still have until 4a.m. Friday!

I checked the weather and it is going to be a bit on the chilly side. Now I have to rethink everything anyway! Sunday it is a high of 54.

Now, by get it all ready does he mean throw in the general direction of the suitcase or actually fold and make nice what you want inside. I say you throw it in the direction and then play ignorant. And then yell things you forgot from your bubblebath. You go get in the bathtub and soak!!!
