Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 2

Well, we had a pretty busy weekend this past weekend.

DW’s parents spent the night Friday night. They had gone to an Air Supply concert and didn’t want to drive back home after the show.

Saturday morning, they wanted to take us out for breakfast. And my FIL is the epitome of “early to bed, early to rise”. He is up and ready to go to breakfast at 6:00 a.m. Well, we get up and around and are ready to go about 8:00 a.m.

After breakfast, we take the kids to get Flu shots. They did quite well with getting the shot. Courtney resisted a little, but after the shot, she said “that didn’t hurt much.”

Back at home, DW goes out in the yard and begins raking leaves. I watch the OU – Baylor game on the tube, but eventually feel guilty for not helping so I go rake with her. We only raked the leaves in the front of the yard, but still managed to fill up about 20 – 30 bags full…….

After raking and bagging the leaves, we decide to go eat and go to the Oklahoma Centennial Celebration and Fireworks they have downtown Tulsa. We go eat at……you guessed it……Ted’s. It was funny, as we were driving toward town, I ask the question “Where do you guys want to eat?” and the immediate response came from Courtney “Ted’s!”

After dinner, we go park downtown and walk over and find us a good place to watch the fireworks show. It was great. Afterward, DW remarks how these fireworks were very similar to the fireworks shows that Disney puts on. I’ll have to do some digging to see if maybe the same company does both fireworks shows.

Sunday, we went out and did a little Christmas shopping. Went to Circuit City, Target, and a couple other places. Came back home and I made Chicken Spaghetti for dinner. After dinner we watched a nearly 70 year old movie on DVD. The kids were mesmerized by this masterpiece of a movie. The movie? Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Yeah, we’ve seen it before, but we haven’t watched it in awhile. Still amazing that this movie was made in 1937.

Oh my Linda, that is quite a collection you've got there! My friends think I'm a Disney nut, but in my house you've got to look a bit harder to find it all. I've got nothin' on you, girl!!
Snow, my goodness!! We haven't had any here yet, in fact next week is supposed to be in the 60s/70s. Last year we had snow a few days before Thanksgiving, and then not again until Jan. We get more ice here than snow, it's just lovely, especially when we get ice and then snow on top of it. That's my favorite! (Could you read the sarcasm in that?)
Got all my first-day paperwork done, with the exception of benefits enrollment & some things I have questions on. Whew! I plan to turn in early tonight and hope to get a good night's rest. No hooting for me tonight!!
ETA: forgot to mention, Emma helped me make Reese's peanut butter bars today. They are delicious!

lyzziesmom...been thinkin about ya...hope your first day is going well! Yes, I have quite a bit of disney in my house but if you just walk in and don't go to my office, bedroom or in the basement you really won't see much. I didn't take pix of all of it but the living room is mostly Terry Redlin...the bedroom was Thomas Kinkade...but Mickey is moving it :rolleyes1 I was passing the salt trucks this morning :sad2: I can't believe it's here already!!

Linda---awww, Kenny's a little chef?? My niece is showing some interest in the kitchen, but my nephew could care less right now. If it doesn't have race cars all over it, he ignores it.

your lunch out sounds so great :cloud9: your nephew sounds so adorable!! I think Kenny just loves to do anything for us to spend time together...we're kinda close :lovestruc

Angela...I've yet to try the dole whip!! I want to though!!... few more days to go :woohoo: :cheer2:

Donna...what a wonderful breakfast :thumbsup2 cheers!!!

Thanks :) its always a "work in progress" b/c you constantly move, rearrange, add too... that fun stuff... when Mike and I met I had most of it and most was still brand new still in the boxes :rolleyes1 he said...if you're gonna keep it... you're going to display it :woohoo: I'm so glad he doesn't mind. wow...that is a lot of leaves :faint: your poor DW's hands have to have tons of blisters after THAT job!!!

party: I made our adr's for Palo (adult only restaurant on disney cruise) for brunch and dinner!!! That is so awesome!!! sorry... had to share the excitement.

Pozey- I bet the city of BA LOVES you!!
Well, I am sure the trash guys will NOT be very happy when they pull up to the curb tomorrow!! Do you remember a couple years ago when we had the HORRIBLE WIND storm? It was about a day and a half of constant 40 mile per hour wind. Well, I think every leaf in our neighborhood ended up in our yard. We counted and we filled 125 bags (55 gallon size) over the course of a week or so. We would put out about 15 - 20 bags a week for the trash guys to pick up. Took over a month to get ride of all the bags of leaves.

Actually, she did get a couple of blisters.....poor thing.

Hi everyone :sunny:

Yesterday went fine when Jeremiah's Aunt and Grandfather came. They got here unexpectedly early and I was still sleeping. They had driven most of the night. Then his Aunt proceeded to go through my entire house, opening cabinets, opening the washing machine, going through my outside storage.  When I got up though, she put on the fakest smile I've ever seen in my life and all was well. :teeth: They were outside most of the time trying to put the Explorer on the trailer, and then I almost had a heartattack when I found out his Grandfather is driving that huge UHAUL back to Florida. :bitelip: If they get in in time he is even going to work at the gas station tonight from 9-8am. I feel really bad for him. :guilty:

I'm very glad its over with!! And I'm looking forward to this long weekend. Thanks everyone for the pixiedust, I think it worked!!

wow!!! that is just insane... :grouphug: glad they're on their way...just hope and pray they make it safely!!! I wouldn't want to do that and I'm only 29!!

Have to get to DNiece's birthday party!!! Will chat more later.

pozey:: You have a ton of leaves!!! It's kind of a neat theing for the family to do together...we used to sing "Whistle While You Work". sounds like the Tulsa celebration was pretty cool.

Ashley:: Way to go, girl!!! You slept through the Auntie-Dearest visit!! :thumbsup2 I really hope they get back to Florida safely. Sounds like Jeremiah's grandfather is pretty active for his age, but didn't you say he had some accidents recently?

Must run!!! Have a good evening!! :goodvibes

Ashley, I can't believe the nerve of that woman to look through your cabinets, washing machine, and everything! I would have asked her what she was looking for. I'd bet if someone did that at HER house, she'd have a fit. I'm sorry, but that is a huge pet peeve of mine and if anybody does that, they are no longer welcome in my home. Next time she comes you should go to an "adult" store and leave little surprises all over the house, I bet that would cure her bad habit!!

pozey, wow that's a lot of leaves! I'm hoping for a wind from the south, to blow all my leaves across the street. Sounds like you had a fun, busy weekend.

The first day of work went well. They are a bit disorganized and I could already feel my gears turning with ways to streamline things. My new boss works in the IL office and she is in town today & tomorrow to help me get settled, she took me to lunch at Applebee's today. I had the Crispy Brick Chicken, I heard it was good and it was! I didn't realize though that it would be so much, I thought it was just a chicken breast. The office is bigger than I originally thought, but everyone seems nice so far. Even though I get off at 4:30, it still seemed like a long day and my back is screaming.

I had to throw my dinner away... I made a quick pasta dish and my tap water is so musty-tasting that it was really bad. Usually cooking will get the bad taste out but I don't know why it didn't this time. I'm going to have to get a filter to put on the tap, it's really gross!! I have kind of lost my appetite now.

Donna, have fun at the b-day party and thanks for the pastries this morning!!

Gotta go pay attention to the kids, Lyzzie is making a paper chef's hat for some school activity she has tomorrow and needs some help. Because apparently I am a paper hat making expert. Too bad we didn't save her chef's hat from the Toll House Cookie activity she did at Epcot, but it rained that day & kind of ruined the hat.

It just occurred to me: is anyone keeping a list of who has actually booked for the Great Cliqueless Convention of February 2007? I have this vague idea in my head of who I will hang around with, but since I don't take notes around here I really don't know. Oh Donna, miss Keeper of the Sacred Itineraries? Linda, miss Maker of the All-Important ADR's? 2x, miss Snatcher of the Hot Pirate Booty? pirate:
Perhaps my name should be Miss-Informed?? :teeth:

lyzziesmom:: I had the Crispy Brick chicken at Applebee's yesterday!!! I ate all of mine. Did you like the salad it came with? I thought it was pretty good, for a change. I loved hearing from Emma, our future little Diser. :goodvibes
Glad to hear you made it through your first day, but hope your back gets to feeling better.

keagansmom:: Your cookies sound yummy!!! You can send me a dozen (or two) when you get the chance. :thumbsup2

DznyFan:: How cool that Colton is getting to see a play that your DD is in!!! I can't wait to hear Colton's review of the play!!!

YourMajesty:: Are you leaving for KY on Wednesday? don't forget to honk when you drive through my area!!! :drive:

Just thought I'd check in with a quick hello.

Ashley....That is just plain crazy the women going through your place. I'd have asked her if she found what she was looking for. ;)

Pozey....All I can say is WOW! That is a lot of leaves!

I have been painting the living room all weekend. I finally got just about done when I fell off the step ladder. Actually I fell on the step ladder throwing the paint brush across the room, luckily the paint container was just about empty or that would have been all over. :guilty: I'm a bit bruised up and sore. Grace in her effort to see why I was crying in pain stuck herself to the freshly painted wall, now she has one side of her that is painted.

Speaking of Grace, she decided she was going to try to take a bath with me again. Luckily she didn't make it all the way, just her nose went under and she made lots of bubbles under the water. :lmao:

I mention earlier to keagansmom about doing a cookie recipe exchange. Would anyone be interested?

I saw Disney cards advertised at Kmart.

Have a good night everyone, I'm taking some Motrin and heading off to bed!

Hello everyone. I didn't have much time online today. :teeth:

Donna, we are spliting our trip but I'm guessing we will be honking and waving around noonish on Wed....be sure to listen for us. :listen:

Ashley... :woohoo: :woohoo: you're free once again. Hope you grandpa has a safe trip home. :goodvibes

Lesa...wow...Gracie tries to get in on your baths...I thought kids were bad...but the dog too. :rotfl2: I tried to take Sophie to stay at my sisters house for our trip but her fence was not secure. Sophie dug out under our gate last weekend so I'm sure she would bolt right out of my sisters fence. The good news is that my sister said she would come out here and stay nights . :cheer2: :cheer2:

Pozey...I'm kind of sorry that we didn't go watch the Sat night festivites...glad you enjoyed. :)

Amber...I guess you are busy packing. :dance3: :dance3:

lyzziesmom...I bet you will get that place whipped into shape in no time. Get you some rest. :wave2:

Gotta run tonight...saved all my trip packing for our departure day...plus I have to make a trip back to the dentist to have a tooth looked. :rolleyes1

I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow. :sunny:

JoAnne Fabrics had one Mickey style Christmas card, but its kinda funky looking. Thats the only place I have seen...

Keagansmom, I would be very interested in a recipe exchange!!!! I love recipes!!!!!

Dznyfan, what play is Erin in? Is it a Moliere? Sounds a little like one...

Well everyone my holiday craziness officially started yesterday! This week is going to be NUTS so keep my sanity in your thoughts and prayers! But, I am SOOO valet parking at the mall on Friday...it gives me an excuse to go to cheesecake factory for a slice since it makes valet free! Mmm...Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake. So, if I start to disappear its because of crazy mall hours!

Night everyone!

Lin, your mall has valet parking? And cheesecake makes it free?? WOW.

So I'm sitting here in my office and I can just see the tv that I left on in the other room. Apparently Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight or one of those shows I never watch came on and I can not believe they are doing an entire half-hour on the Cruise wedding MENU and SONGLIST. Seriously, who gives a flippin flip??

Sorry, that feels much better out than it did in.

Lyzziesmom- I totally agree about the Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes wedding!! Who freaking cares!! :confused3 I think I saw the same show but I turned it off because I was too busy doing this

Jeremiah's Grandfather called and they made it back home to Ft.Lauderdale safely. Thankfully they got in at about 10pm so he got to take the night off and catch up on some sleep!!!

Question: Tomorrow I think I'm going to be going to Whole Foods to get a turkey breast to cook for Thanksgiving. So how do I cook it? :confused3  Do you season it, do you cook it in liquid?? What do you season it with?? Thanks if you guys can give me some insight!! Last year I had NO clue so I just made Jeremiah & I steaks!!!

Good morning!

I thought I'd start us early birds out with a good ole cup of joe, I'm sure Donna is still catching some zzzzzz's! ;)

Actually Grace mostly tries to get in the shower with me. I don't take a bath all that often. It's never relaxing as the bathroom becomes grand central station during that time, it doesn't matter that we have a bathroom downstairs. :confused3 She has succeeded getting in the shower several times. Why don't I just close the door you ask. Well I am extremely claustrophobic and if we don't have a visitor the door stays open! ;) As for my little escape artist, I have been told that beagles have a tendancy to follow their nose and wonder off. I think she is mostly beagle! :teeth: She actually got out the gate again the other day. I don't know what else to do. Everytime I think I finally got it completely blocked off she out smarts me. Does Sophie run away when she escapes?

I'm glad Jeremiah's grandfather made it back safely! I'm not a turkey expert, this is the first year I will actually make a whole bird. With the help of DMinlaw. ;) I don't have much advice other than don't forget to take the bag of innards out of the turkey! ;) I had to laugh at your steak for thanksgiving. When we lived in Florida away from family, I was always intimidated by the bird so we would have stuffing, pumpkin pie, a veggie and chicken breasts. :lmao:

Both my girls are out of school for the whole week. I have a conference with Maddie's teacher this morning, then DMinlaw, DFinlaw, and Nick (Don't worry Michele, I'll take good care of your baby!) coming in on the train today. :woohoo: The girls asked me yesterday during our extreme clean why we were cleaning, because it is just going to be messed up when they walk in the door with their stuff. :lmao: I said because it makes me feel better and we are not cleaning for them, we are cleaning to make mom happy! :smooth:

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning Donna! I see your little green light is on. I bet you are working hard on making breakfast! :) Could I request you famous souffle? :lmao:

I'm feeling a bit left out. :guilty: Where'd you all get that cute bouncing Mickey?
