The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Dang, you guys aren't really "selling" me on VDH with the above posts! 🤣

My first visit and every visit for those first few years...we always took the tram since we lived nearby. Sometimes I do miss it. But a short walk from the hotels is pretty nice too.
I have had success getting a 1 bedroom 3 months out. That was last year for a March trip.

I see one bedrooms at less than 7 months often. Not always for more than a few days at a time, but they are more plentiful than studios a few months out, even though there are millions of studios and only a few one bedrooms.
VDH and VGC people book a lot of short stays. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of owners always book less than a week.

Yep all of mine have been 1, 2 or 3 days.

The 1st week of Jan is the lowest point season, a time when MKs are not blocked out , and the park is still decorated for Christmas.

AKA…. a unicorn week….

We're the odd ones who book 6 nights. And we actually be open to 7 nights as well.

Ah...yeah...we never go that week. We do like late January or early February though.

I don't need to specifically ask someone at VDH? Do they call down to VDH or would they actually walk all the way over there?
They aren't actively selling at VGC…. so everyone there better be able to set up something at VDH… I’d probably try to schedule something ahead of time so as to not waist time on your vacation.

Oh, dang...didn't realize I had to actually schedule something. I just assumed we could walk up and we would immediately get a tour. I'm not exactly sure when we'd want to do it though. We have 5 full days. I'm assuming somewhere in the middle of the trip we may want to sleep in a bit then check out VDH before heading into the parks for the day. But honestly no clue which day or time that would even be. I assumed this would be a more laid back kind of tour.

They offered to show us when we stopped in at VDH last year. They do have a cool setup at VGC, I love the Aulani model that spins! Ask for coasters! I got them last month. Im sure either place can take you to show you a model.

Well…. if you walk over there is a chance that other families will have already scheduled a time to see the 1bd when you are there…. so if it’s important to see it then I’d probably schedule something… while you’re there you should ask to see a studio and the grand Villa as well….

Grand Villa is a no go :( I was told the guide there will call me when the dates open up for touring. Only set dates though and highly unlikely I would be in CA when they happen to open it up

Is anyone able to confirm that renters have to pay a parking fee at VDH?

The parking page on the Disneyland website says that guest-of-members do not pay for parking at GCH but that line is omitted under VDH (so it doesn't confirm one way or another), and when I emailed the hotel to ask they referred me to member services. I swear there was a parks panel question about this where the responder said renters do have to pay the parking fee at VDH, but now I can't find it. Any insight is appreciated!

Stays on points owned or a rented VDH reservation don’t pay self parking fee for up to two vehicle. You will see that information about DVC parking if you do online checkin & enter number of vehicles. (That is printed on VGC online checkin as well).
