Good Morning,

Donna, sorry your microwave broke.

Lyzziesmom, oooh a boyfriend. Congrats!!

Mike and I went to the Redskins game and they lost. :guilty: We had a great time though. We met a couple of cool people. One guy (we named him Drunkard) kept running up and down trying to get the crowd to make noise. Everytime the Redskins would do something good he would come and and start hugging people.

It took us three hours to get home though. It takes just over an hour, but traffic was horrible (the worst I had ever seen). So, I didn't get much done yesterday at all.

Talk to everyone later. :wave2:

This morning we found out our furnace doesn't work. I am hoping it's a simple fix, but with my luck we'll need a new furnace. :guilty:

Good Morning, everyone!!

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Donna, Nothing much happened this weekend. Jeremiah called CarMax last Thursday and they said they didn't have any appointments available until THIS Thursday. It seems safe to drive, all the break lights are working, except the corner of the right one. :confused3 We saw another Grand Am on the road this weekend with the exact same problem, exact same place- so maybe its a common problem with them? Its frusterating because its the 2nd problem with the car we've had and the second month. I saw you got your painting done!! I hate painting. When I lived with my parents they (pretty much bribed) me to paint the entire living room, entrance hallway and their bedroom. I thought it would be fun (at first) :teeth: :lmao: but then I hated it!! Did you get the room cleaned out? Sorry about the microwave. Mine is starting to go, I'm sure I'll have to replace it soon! BTW those sugar M&M cookies sound delicious to me!!

Lyzziesmom, How did the dinner go? Did your kids get to meet the new bf? That's so exciting to say :teeth: Did they like him?

Amber-

The traffic has been ESPECIALLY bad here lately!! I think its because they are doing alot of construction on the roads, did you notice that? I wonder how close you were to me. I've never been to a Redskins game but people are pretty obsessed about them around me.

2xcited- MGM today, you lucky girl! I am so jealous. Yesterday night I was telling Jeremiah about how you were in Epcot eating at Alfredo's and I was listening to the Soarin' music and getting depressed that I wasn't there with you :teeth: ;)

Good Morning!

Will catch up later. Sorry Pozey, good luck next game.

Have a great day everyone!!
Yep. The Cards looked pretty bad last night. They MUST win tonight, or they are done.

Hey, guys!

So Lyzziesmom has got a boyfriend, eh? Sweet. How was dinner?

Linzy - how did you like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? I haven't been able to see it but love the music. The Plum series of books is wonderful! I started on them back in July - they're a quick, easy read, and very entertaining!......

In her books, Bob the dog reminds me SO MUCH of my Golden - especially in her initial description of him back in book # ?. Big, hairy, orange, slobbery, and eats everything. Yep, thats my dog.

Pozey - sad for OU - wonder how the rest of the season is going to go? Is there even going be be a bowl game?

Yeah, Nicole, Michele and Linda - my neighbors are pretty amazing. What kills me is that this is a nice neighborhood!
It's rainy and cool here [still] - I love this weather, but it makes me EXTREMELY lazy. Good football weather. I don't follow baseball at all, or basketball. or hockey.

:wave2: Amber (good luck with your furnace), Ashley, April (where are you?), Lesa, Kim, Donna, (sorry about your microwave) YM, 2x, and Jill!

Where is Jll??!! Not to sound stalker-ish, but I just looked and she hasn't posted since October 5.

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna! I would give just about anything for a Disney breakfast right about now! Well, my donut will just have to do. That's too bad about your microwave.

Lyzziesmom- How was the dinner?

Amber- I hope you can get the furnace fixed.

I have also been wondering where Jill is.

Dznyfan- It is raining here too, really bad. I just want to go home and curl up in my bed!

Yeah, Nicole, Michele and Linda - my neighbors are pretty amazing. What kills me is that this is a nice neighborhood! I guess I'm stereotyping, and that's not what I mean - but I mean, I'd expect something like this if I were living in a ratty trailer park. And I don't mean that offensively to anyone who has a trailer, you know...
Oh fudge. can anybody help me get my foot out of my mouth?
Have to jump in and give my "bad neighbor" story.

We have lived next door to the same people for close to 10 years. All of the houses in our neighborhood were built pretty much at the same time. All of the houses in our neighborhood all have yards that are about 1 acre. And everyone in our neighborhood keep their yards in really nice condition.......with the exception of the people who live right next door.

Now, our neighbors are not bad people. Just a little lazy maybe when it comes to mowing.

Here are a few pictures I took about a month or so ago:

They have a beautiful house. They just don't take care of it very well.

Ashley, I was in Landover, MD. Exit 17A off of 495. We were lucky enough to be able to avoid most of the construction, but traffic was still really bad. Last year, the longest it ever took to get home was just under 2 hours. Last night it was just over 3. We sat on a shuttle (from stadium to parking) for an hour (the drive to the stadium took less than 5 mins). It was crazy.

pozey, I'm sorry but those pictures are hilarious! I must confess, I manage to kill every plant I have ever touched (including some plastic ones) so I'm not much good at yardwork. Luckily I have a very nice neighbor with a riding mower. As for the rest of the neighbors... I haven't met them yet but I have seen a family down the street with a whole bunch of very little kids who seem to run wild, but they stay in their own yard (so far).

Dinner last night was a smashing success, thanks for thinking of me! DBF was fantastic with the kids, hit it off with Lyzzie right off and gave Emma the time she needed to warm up to him. Now he's trying to think of something we can all do next weekend... I'm thinking pumpkin patch. He also mentioned that he would like to try ballroom dancing lessons. Wow. I think I've found a good one!

Lin, you MUST give the Plum books a try! I started them a few months ago and have been tearing through them... they really are very entertaining. I didn't think I'd like them but I am now hooked!

Busy day today, must get back to work. Howdy to everyone else, and a big HELLO! to 2x2s who is in my favorite park today!

Good to hear that your date went well. Sounds like he is good with both DDs. :thumbsup2

Now......I have to continue my story about my neighbors......Like I said, they are very nice people, but some of the things they do......

Here are a few of the things that have happened over the past 8 years or so.
** If you notice in the pictures I posted, they have a rock retaining wall. Well, the first retaining wall they built was made of RECYCLED TRASH. :confused3 Yep. Trash. You could see bits and pieces of trash in the wall. Well, about 2 months after putting up the retaining wall, it collapsed. That is when they put in the rock wall.
** Next the rock retaining wall partially collapsed. It has never been completely repaired. It has been at least 5 years since then. Some of the rocks from the retaining wall are still just in a pile beside a tree.
** They had their entire yard sodded with expensive sod. There was about 1/2 a pallet of sod left over. It sat in their yard for 3 YEARS!! There was a small tree that began to grow out of it.
** They spent thousands of dollars putting in a nice sprinkler system. Remember it is over 1 acre. It has been used less than 10 times in over 5 years.
** They mow their yard about 4 times a year durning summer. The grass gets about as long in the pictures before mowing. I HAVE to mow at least once a week.
** When the neighbors across the street were trying to sell their house, the dad went over and ASKED if HIS SON could come over and mow their yard. :rotfl:

And there is MORE!!

This is cracking me up!!!! :rotfl2: I don't know why, but it is!
Cards have 2 more shots, the series is tied at 2-2. Isn't this a 7 game series?

Dznyfan, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was HILARIOUS! Norbert Leo Butz was touring with the show until yesterday so we got to see his second to last performance. He won a Tony for this production on Broadway last year and then picked up the tour. It was a great time!

Linz - you got to see Norbert Leo Butz as Freddy??? I am SOOOO jealous...

Pozey - those were some interesting pictures - I'd be going nuts. Not that we're perfect neighbors - but we keep our yard mowed and edged, I keep my garden up, and plant every spring. God knows what is living in the grass in your neighbor's house!

Oh, trust me......there's more.

Like the time they thought it might be a good idea to try and dig a water well in their back yard. :confused3 Came up empty, but still thought it would be a good idea to leave all the equipment there for 2 more years.

Or how about the time they thought that they would put in an underground invisible fence for their Marmaduke-sized dog. They spend several hours one afternoon putting some of the wire into the ground. But then, it begins to rain, so they stop. That was 3 years ago. They have not decided that it is a good time to go finish yet. And yes, the end of the wire spool is still in the same place it was 3 years ago. When they do mow.....THEY MOW AROUND IT!!! :rotfl:

Oh, and I forgot one more........

A couple of years ago, the dad decides to come outside and trim some of the branches on the trees in the back yard. Mainly because the back yard looked like this and they couldn't even walk behind their house:
IMG_2127.jpg

Well, he procees to pile all the branches and stuff right in the middle of the side of their yard. Well, that pile of branches (and it was a BIG pile of branches) sat there for almost a year.

Then, back in June, he decides to get rid of the pile of brush....See....?

Like DznyFan said......I am not a perfect neighbor........but we keep our yard mowed, trimed, and picked up. And we are very courtious to our fellow neighbors.......even the ones that live next to us..... :sad2:
