Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 2

Hi everyone,

Well the game didn't turn out like I would have liked but it was a great game nonetheless. It was nice to hear all the lovely things people had to say about Bo.

I typed a long post this afternoon and lost it all. I was going to post a picture from Matt's Sadie Hawkins dance last night but now I am on the laptop and my pictures are on the desktop. I'll try again tomorrow.

The dinner was delicious!! We had turkey, mashed potatoes, rice stuffing, corn, green beans, rolls, sweet potatoes, pecan pie, ambrosia and a birthday cake. YUM!!!!

When my brother Mike and his family were getting ready to leave, Erin, his 3 year old told me she wanted to stay at Aunt Michele's house for a long, long time...40 minutes!! :rotfl2: Sometimes she is so shy and doesn't talk much and other times, like today, you can't shut her up. I love it!! She's too cute. I would post pictures on her and her sister Maggie but I don't think their mom and dad would be too happy. Mike was on TV today. He is a cop in a neighboring city and is one of their honor guards for parades and funerals and things. He was marching in their parade this morning. His wife and girls were at home watching and they got to see a close up of him. Of course he didn't mention it to the rest of us so we weren't watching.

Lyzziesmom... love the girls face painting :teeth: It's too cute!!!

. I wore some new jeans the other day that are a slightly lower rise than my usual "mom jeans" and was horrified to realize that my bruised behind (technically "lower back", don't get too excited pozey!) peeked out when I sat down!! Good thing it was cold outside, I just left my coat on.

Once again, what was supposed to be a quick check-in has turned into a looooong post, sorry guys! Hi to anyone I missed!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have a couple of pairs of these jeans that I wear to work. I'm constantly checking to make sure nothing is exposed. :teeth: My sister told me today while we were shopping that she told a lady sitting at the bar in a restuarant that she didn't want to see her crack while she was eating. :faint: I couldn't believe she actually told her.....

:wave2: hi Donna...welcome back

Hey puddins----

DznyFan----good one on the Nemo reference!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: But, he's still MINE.mine.mine.

Linda---too funny about Mike giving you a day to wrap his presents.

Michele and Lesa---you guys crack me up with your personal family chit chat. How is Aunt Millie, btw?? :teeth:

Lyzziesmom--- :lmao: :lmao:Well, we all view relaxation in different ways, I suppose. Maybe not the first time, but the second and third----well, nuff said. pirate:
Stop with the drop in the bucket. My troubles are no more important than anyone else's.
The girls look great!! Emma's butterfly looks much nicer than a scary skull or spiderweb. Too bad they didn't last longer.
Oooh, I feel so bad for Lyzzie. Some people just make me so mad!!!! They obviously could see it was a little kid's bag. What a way to learn a lesson.

Speaking of spiderwebs-----I really want to see the new release of Charlotte's Web. It is coming out in December and I used to love that story as a little girl. The only problem with this one------it uses real animals and such----not animation. You know what that means?? A real spider!!!!!!! I seriously don't know if I can handle it!!! I was squirming in my chair at the previews.

Thanksgiving plans----my mom is having it this year---which she usually does. I will go over there after work on Wed. and just stay the night to help her. I love her kitchen so I have fun. I just cringe when I hear the words "set the table", though. Have no idea why. The company will consist of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. The whole gang.

uuh, I was just reading this------send a prayer their way, if you'd like, please.

Cracker Barrell was actually better than I expected. I had chicken and rice---very "homey". It was nice and toasty sitting by the fire too. I also never knew you can order breakfast any time of the day. Hmmm, learn something new every day. That solves the breakfast for dinner controversy----if it ever existed. :confused3

Donna----as I was driving home your LINSEDSO code popped into mind. I started laughing again. :rotfl:

Michele...glad your enjoyed your dinner. It sounded delicious. :thumbsup2 Sorry about the game....I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the outcome. :goodvibes

Linda...did you enjoy your dinner.?..I know you enjoyed the game.

Remember girls...we are going to be at WDW on Super Bowl Sunday. :cheer2: Not that anyone will care that much...just seems strange that it will be the end of another football season. :teeth: We really only watch college sports these days and maybe a little of the world series and the big golf tournaments.... :smokin:

2x, I just saw a poster for the new Charlotte's Web movie at the mall today. This was the first I'd heard of it, but apparently Lyzzie knew about it for some time now. Real spider, yuck! How on earth are they going to make that appealing?? Remember my spidery apartment? I used to tell Lyzzie that if she named the spiders that hung out outside the front door, they wouldn't be so scary. So there was Charlotte and George, and she would say hi to them every day. (Yes we tried getting rid of them, but they always seemed to come back, and since they didn't venture inside it seemed easier to just let them be.) I hear ya on the "set the table" heebie-jeebies. I don't mind doing it, but sheesh, don't TELL me to do it!!

Michele, your dinner sounds heavenly! One question: what is ambrosia? I've heard of it but never really knew what it was. I'm picturing some sort of fruit salad? That's too cute about your niece! I guess when you're 3, 40 minutes can be a very long time.

YM, your sister is a brave lady! I've often wanted to say something to women who were showing more than they should, but the closest I've come was telling a young woman, "Nice underwear." She took it as a compliment, when it was really supposed to be a hint.

I had no idea! (remember, I'm not a sportsy person) Perhaps that will keep the crowds down at WDW, everyone will be busy watching the game!!

Hi Michele----glad to hear your dinner was a success. Did you make everything or did people bring dishes?? Wow, a whole 40 minutes----you must be a wonderful hostess!! :teeth:

YM---I'm envisioning your sister confronting the butt-bar lady. :lmao: :lmao: Too funny!!!! It cracked me up!! :teeth: oh, that was bad!!!

We are going to Bowling Green Kentucky for Thanksgiving to visit my brother. Donna, I just noticed we will be very close to you on our way and of course 2xcited as we are going through St Louis then down I 64 etc....we will wave and honk when we're close. :drive: :drive:

Some of my family will be in San Antonio and one of my sisters will be here hopefully dog sitting Sophie! :dog2:

I was hoping we could get a PS for ESPN Club...but they don't take them. :rolleyes1 ;)

YM---I completely forgot about SuperBowl Sunday. Does this mean we have to hang out at the bar and watch the game?? Remember who you're talking to----the one who called SuperBowl the World Series. :teeth: I was there last year----can't for the life of me remember the crowds. Wasn't too bad, I don't think. :confused3

Lyzziesmom---I do remember your spidery apartment----that's what made me think of it along with Emma's request for a face-web. The previews showed this thing close up and "talking"------freak - a - zoid. I promised my niece I'd take her. I think I will be sitting there with my feet up the entire time.
I don't know if Michele makes ambrosia the same way, but my experience with it has always been a mixture of mandarin oranges, grapes, pineapple, coconut, marshmallows in a creamy, cool-whippy concoction. I think that's all that's in it. My gram used to make it all the time. Refreshing----but since you're picky---not so sure.

(JD)Michele & Linda- that was a GOOD game. I caught about the last quarter, and Michigan really gave OSU a run for their money!

Michele that dinner sounded wonderful, glad to hear you enjoyed it. Your little niece Erin sounds so adorable.

Lyzziesmom the girls' facepainting is so cute! It makes me so sad when things that are a 'big deal' to little ones go wrong. I remember years gone by when my girl would lose/break/leave something that was important to her, and oh, the tears! That is one sure way to get to mom - tears. Sorry for Lyzzie, but like you said, a lesson - albeit a tough one.

YM - that is SO funny about your sister! I must say, I have to agree with her. That's one thing I WOULDN'T want to see while eating.

2X2s - your ailments AREN'T just a drop in the bucket, nor LZmom's. You guys BOTH (as well as any other ailing non-cliquers) need and deserve to feel better! :grouphug: It looks to me, though that you seem to have found quite the diversion. (JD)

It took me a moment of sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out just exactly what a "butt-bar" might be (and not really wanting to know) before I put it together, d'oh! Ambrosia sounds like something my kids would love, but I'd much rather just look at it. Actually, if you replace the coconut with sprinkles it very much resembles a fruit salad I throw together for the kids, layer with cool whip, and fool them into thinking it's a dessert.

Michele's 40 minute niece reminded me of when I was little and we would be over my grandma and grandpa's on a Sunday night. These are the grandparents that I very rarely see (my dad's parents) and my dad and grandpa would just talk business the entire time. Well, the show 60 Minutes would come on and we would always leave after that. Anyone remember the clock in the beginning of the show?? Well, the brilliant little Pin-cess would hear the tick-tick-tick of the clock and be happy that we could leave in 60 seconds. Those were the longest 60 seconds ever known to mankind. :lmao: :teeth:

DznyFan---oh yum, who's that??

It's a very good pic of Antonio Banderas. I always think he looks delicious in movies, but when he's not playing a role he's just ho-hum.

And SINCE you don't seem to want to share.... I went out and found something of my own to play with.

DznyFan...that's going to be a tough sacrifice :teeth: :smokin:

Hey...I saw some Ghirardelli pepperment bark at Dillards and thought of you today. :)

Sorry about the scheduling "fiasco"...I'm sure it would have been nice if the students could have been able to attend both...I bet one of those politicians played a role in the scheduling. :rolleyes1

yep! Antonio... actually - I prefer him when his hair is long and not slicked back - when it's falling over his eyes..... mmmm.....

oh! sorry.
