Who has a jetted/jacuzzi tub in their home? Do you use it?

We have one in our master bath and I love, love, love it. I can never understand when I read posts about how some people have it but never use it. I use ours at least 4 times a week - it is so relaxing!

I have one because I think its one of those things you have to have these days for resale. I hardly use it. I don't "sit" well, without something else to do and when I am in the tub I think about everything else I could be doing and I feel like I am wasting time.

Same here. We put one in when we built because of resale. I think we have used it three or four times in three years.

We've had one for 10 years since we remodeled our bathroom--it was one of those "had to have it" things. I've used it 10 times max, DH has used it 2X. DD used to take her baths in it, and still will use it maybe once or twice a month. But, I can't tell you the last time the jets were used--we have the build up of mildew, and have tried running bleach through it, using Q-tips, etc, and still can't get it out. The plumber told us the worst thing we did was to use bubbles in it--they actually aren't recommended for most jetted tubs (despite all the ads to the contrary) Plus, the pump keeps giving us trouble, and is very inconvenient to get to.

If I were redoing the bathroom now, I would put in a smaller soaker tub with no jets, and a larger shower.

we have one.

I don't use it - although I have decorated it very nicely!:) It was one of those things I wanted because they look nice.....(much like the fireplace). I also can't just sit and relax...unless I am some where much more interesting than my bathroom...like a nice beach!

DH uses it when his knee or back is bothering him or when he takes on too much yardwork all at one time.

I just purchased an air bath for my new home. It self cleans - no gunk in the jets! I have a regular jacuzzi in my current house and use it about once a month. I love it - but don't have time for more use then that.

My wife had one in her house and used it 2 -3x a week.... I even used it once in a while.

We have had one in both of our last two houses (14 years) and I think I used it once. It takes too much water to fill it, and the heat doesn't last long enough. We had a hot tub at our old house, that got a lot of use until DSs came along. I would prefer a hot tub over a jacuzzi..unless...do they make jacuzzis that can keep the water temp from dropping?

Mine does -- it does not heat the water but it will keep the water the same temp.

I would LOVE a jacuzzi tub. My parents have one and I always used it when I lived there. I would use it if I had one. We have a big roman bath now and I probably use it on an average of once a week. I'd love to have the jets!!

I had one in my old house, which I used on a nightly basis. There was nothing more relaxing than having a few candles burning, a good book and a nice glass of wine. I could lay in there for at least an hour each night, when I got out I always felt I could deal with anything.

I have a corner one and I love it! !

I use it several times a month. It is wonderful to lock myself in my bathroom and read for an hour... almost like what my husband does :rotfl:

I have a big corner jetted tub, and while I use the tub 4-5 times a week, I've used the jets maybe 10 times in three years.

I usually don't want to run enough water to cover the jets, and I HATE the mildew/mold coming out. No matter how well I think I've cleaned it, I still get some little furries whenever I first turn the jets on.

When we built our home we thought about putting one in, but opted for a hot tub instead. It's in our basement with a walk out garage door that we can open if the mood strikes.... so almost like being outside but not quite.

We love it and I know we use it MUCH more than we would a jacuzzi tub.

Now, I must admit that this is a 7 person hot tub and we often have company in there!! :lmao:

Everytime I think of the ONE thing I would most like to have in a new house, a jetted bathtub in a master bath is the first thing that pops in my mind. (Even though I know its not really a worthy #1, like a 2 car garage is ;))

But I'm wondering if I had it, how much would I actually use it.
Like the outdoor swing I HAD to have that I've used twice in 2 summers. :scared:

So if you have one do you use it? How much?

We have one and have lived in our house for almost 5 years. How many times have I used it? Not one time. My DH has only used it once.

We have one that came with the house...I use it all the time. It is in the bathroom and the best place to toss the laundry that is all over the floor. You can fill the whole tub with a week's worth of laundry, shut the door, and the bedroom looks clean!

Oh wait...did you mean use it as an actual tub? Maybe 3-4 times in the 6 years we have lived in this house.

I have one, but I don't use it. I've actually bathed in it twice in the past four years. It takes so much water to fill the darn thing and I'm a shower girl! Instead, I put just enough water in it to cover the jets about once every two to three months and turn them on to clean them out. That's it. It looks nice!

Our's gets used quite often year round. In the winter it is nice when you are cold and in the summer it is nice to take a bath before bed after you have been sweating all day. Our kids like it too.

We have a corner Jacuzzi in the master bath. When the house was built we had to have the floor reinforced to hold the weight...just something to think about if you are adding one to an already built house. Ours takes 70 gallons of water to fill it and use the jets. As a result of how much water it takes and a lack of time, we don't use ours very often, maybe 3-4 times a year. I always think that we probably could have used the money for other things, but it's nice when we do use it. I'm not sure that I would add one after the fact, but if we built again we probably would get another for resale value more than usage!!
