Who gets Magicband vs who does'nt

Our next trip is on Sept 22th, staying on site, with DDP. Now I see on forums about the Magicbands, will we get them or they are still testing it? If it is available for us how to I get them.

MagicBands are still being tested. Nobody knows whether or not testing will be continued into September, but chances are fair.

If they are available to you, the option to customize them for your trip will show up in the Plan and Manage section on the My Disney Experience portion of the site.

My DD and I are visiting in August and staying at Pop Century. We have been able to select bands and add FP+ options to them.

A friend and her family are visiting in September and also staying at Pop Century. As of last evening selecting bands and adding the FP+ option was not available to her on MDE.

Things can change but as of now I don't believe the testing has been extended past August. Hopefully it will though!

I'm arriving in late Sept @ POP (I booked through Disney), and I've done online check-in, but no Magicbands or FP+ offer as of yet. I do get that generic "Are you ready for a new kind of magic" pop up, but I'm not able to make FP+ selections or customize magicbands.

I'm still 60 days out though.

Ideally, I'd get magicbands, FP+, and also KTTW cards so I can double dip FP in September/October

It's possible the person was staying during this upcoming test and was also going to be visiting again in January.

January is too far out for them to be sending Magicbands yet, anyway. Even if MBs and FP+ was going to be fully rolled out by then, they wouldn't be eligible to customize or receive them yet.

Or maybe they were talking about dining reservations? January is 180 days out right now.

The plan (and it could obviously change) is for them to always be sent. They intend for them to be your Magical Express ticket, so you'd need to have them. They want you to be immersed in Disney from the moment you leave your home to the moment you return to the airport. The MagicBands are one step that they are taking to try to get you to visit Disney exclusively once you're in the Orlando area.

Guess that puts us out of having the MagicBands since our trip starts Sept 21 and I received my Magical Express book and luggage stickers in the mail yesterday After being on the fence with all of this, I've decided that I'd like to try it out. That doesn't mean anything. We had our DME booklet and stickers, and then our bands arrived later.

We had also received everything, and got our invitation to be testers afterwards (Our trip is 8/6-8/13, staying at CR.)
