Penny had us up early today...and up most of the night trying to keep her still.

For those who don't know yet, Kayda attacked Penny this past Thursday. She's gonna be ok but needs surgery cause Kayda herniated Penny's intestines :( No perforations, which is really good cause that woulda been bad~

I tried sleeping in the living room with her, that worked til about 4am. I took her to my bed and she was ok til about 7 when she jumped down to the floor and whimpered cause it hurt~Our job til surgery tuesday is to keep her activity limited and basically watch over her. I will be so happy when she gets thru this.

I told John I really don't want Kayda around Penny at all. His idea is to build a kennel outside for her, til then - she is gated to the kitchen and dining room.

Collen, I'm so sorry to hear about Penny.

I wish her a safe surgery and a speedy recovery.

Is there any way that you can try to confine Penny to an area that will keep her safe..... nothing to jump onto or off of??

You are right to keep them apart...it may not happen again, but why take the chance...Its so hard to trust a dog once they've attacked...A dog we had (a small mixbreed) bit a child once, not badly,(and in his defense the child was jumping on him) but after that we use to keep him away from strange children....It was when he was a pup, and never happened again ...but ya got to be careful...
poor Penny. Please keep us posted...

Thank you Ladies for the well wishes for Penny.

She is sticking by my side so we've been hanging out on the couch and she has a "sleeping pad" aka my huge mickey towel on my desktop so I can sit at the computer.

She jumped off the bed this morning, I don't think she'll be doing that again soon  Lori (SA) also brought her girls by to visit but Penny was a little anxious - not up to visitors at all~

I really feel like the mom of a newborn and totally shoudl be sleeping rright now while she is catching her zzzz's :faint:

Good luck in the Job hunt Betsy and Mike!

I pray lotsa luck to both of you in your ventures :wizard:

One of these times Robin and Ann, I *will* get that vacation in with you all. Brenda and Aisling again too. We'll see how this year works out, I really need to get back to Disney...I am sooo overdue for my fix :hyper:

Keep this in mind my threadkillers...a group rate only needs 16 people to get that discount!

How much of a discount do you get if you have 16 people?

Is that for a land vacation or a cruise vacation?

Good luck to Alex.

Went through Mom's clothes today. Some things I set aside. My neice wants a particular sweater and Mom's PJ's. James took a PoP Century tye-dyed Tshirt (we bought a few years ago), and a crucifix. Save another cashmere sweater that I got Mom for Christmas years ago, and she never wore for my sister in Brooklyn. I kept 2 things (why I dunno) one was a Red Flannel nightgown that I bought Mom When I went to 'The Waltons" Museum in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It said 'Good Night John Boy", that was her favorite show (next to Law & Order).
The other item was a sweatshirt I bought her YYYYYYYYYYYYYYears ago in the Dollar store. It was meant as a gag gift. Its a swaetshirt that has Bingo cards, slot machines, dice...all gambling stuff, with Big green sparkling writing "GOOD LUCK". She wore that shirt ALL THE TIME. :lmao: I always told her I am gonna lay her out in that shirt. I forgot all about it until today.
:confused3

Made the last of the Meatballs & Sausage in sauce (from Christmas) tonight with spaghetti. I made ALOT around the holidays & froze it. Then me & james went to see "The Pink Panther 2" it was silly :lmao: ...good laugh.

And know we are gonna watch "The Untouchables" BluRayDVD I bought in Best Buy today. It was on sale for14.99, I had a $5.00 coupon.....and they only charged me $4.98......:confused3 But it worked out in my favor.

Tommorrow all the various Medical companies are coming to take out all the oxygen equip, Hospital bed, and Chair that goes up the stairs (James will miss that  )

Catch ya all tommorrow.:goodvibes

Robin, I love the pics. My fav is the one of you and Ann! the trip looks like it was vert relaxing...especially for Rick:rotfl2:

Sometimes it's the strangest things that we get sentimental about, isn't it. :confused3

:scratchin .......... :rotfl2:

Yes, I do believe that he did an awful lot of relaxing on that trip ::yes::

I've been busy tonight backing up my pictures off my computer.

I hadn't done it since the beginning of 2007 so it is about time.

I've still got some to do but tomorrow will have to be soon enough.

Callyyyyyy!!

What in the world is that green drink on your photo site?! ;)

Thank you all for your prayers! Penny is resting and will be made all better tomorrow :wizard: :grouphug:

Group rates qualify on both land and sea!

Rates vary just like seasons...I will go look at some sample rates I have and get back to you with real numbers ::yes::

DU, what about pillow covers? I have seen many pillow covers made from momentos and think they would be very easy to make :)

Robin, as far as resting on the Magic...that is all I did each day on my trip. After getting a walk and some breakfast in I went to the adult pool where I spent the rest of my days. I got up to go to the early stage show each day then end with a late dinner and whatever plans our group had for each night.

I really loved being on that ship :boat:

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Got to take James home tonight.......................Dreading it!:guilty:

Hi Everyone!

TW - good luck tomorrow. Hollydog is having some work done on Friday - she gets her teeth cleaned every 2 years and she has some moles that need to be removed. Nothing like what Penny is going through, but Holly said she's there for her :o)

DU - I imagine James has been good company for you - keep your chin up and I hope you're able to enjoy some quiet moments for yourself.

Betsy - good luck to you and Mike tomorrow - I hope he finds a job that starts on Wednesday and pays a gazillion dollars!

Robin - keep us posted on Alex's job.

Hi Cally, Kim, PD, nsalz, Sewer (yes, I'm willing to share) and everyone else!

I've got some chicken in the oven - I'm making a warm chicken salad for dinner with broccoli & tomatoes...another new recipe. The rest of the week Tom gave me the menu he wanted "simple" food. I'm talkin' SIMPLE! Salisbury steak, Hash & Eggs - that sort of thing. I'm hardly going to get to cook - so I'll make a cake mid week to keep me from getting the shakes! :rotfl:

Ya'll take care and I hope you're having a good day!

DU, I can imagine its gonna be rough without your sidekick. You know we are all here for you

Awwww, give Holly a fat thank you hug for me from Penny :)

Penny really showed improvement today so I am feeling pretty good about tomorrow. The docs said they needed her stable and I would say she is.

Post 3000!

I hit post 3000 twice in the last week. I did this on the secret green club too, but there it was on purpose!:thumbsup2
