Hi Threadkillers!

I wanted to post the pic of the Warm Duck Breast Salad. It turned out really well - it will be a regular in our house. I was amazed how tender and juicy the duck breast was and how well the dressing went with the mache, oranges, blackberries and pecans.

We went out for dinner tonight. Nuttin fancy just a local diner. I had Prime rib...English Style.... Didnt really know what that was till I got it....It is cut flat. It was OK.

Just gonna chill tonight, maybe watch a movie, but James wants to watch DVD's of Everybody Loves Raymond. Pop couldnt care less.

Amazing what a difference a week can make.

Happy Day all of you threadkillers and lurkers.

Hope everyone is having a good one.

My son Alex got a lovely gift from his girlfriend this morning

She rear-ended his car when they were going into work this morning

It was slippery and she was behind him and couldn't stop at the stop sign and ran right into him

It hurt her car a lot more than it did his though. He has a trailer hitch on his car that probably saved his from some damage and wasn't so nice for hers.

His car is not too bad but even little hits like that can cost thousands of dollars to fix

Her car is not driveable at the moment and has a fair amount of damage to the front on the passenger side.

When she realized she was not going to be able to stop she tried to swerve to miss him but hit the back corner.

Probably was a better idea than hitting him straight on.

Oh well, stuff happens and neither one of them was hurt.

Robin glad your son and his girlfriend are ok. One of those hazards of living where winter means snow and ice!

Funny story. We are having NSalz and her family as well as another sister and her family over for dinner tonight. I sent my Dh out to run errands. Pick up some wine and a few things at the grocery store. So he comes home with all the bags while I am making spaghetti sauce and he says, oh did you see I bought you some Baileys. I said wow cool, I guess I'll have fun tonight then! I then proceeded to look for it but couldn't find it. I asked where he had put the Baileys. He said I don't know DD unpacked the bags. So I asked her where she had put the Baileys. She had no idea what I was talking about. Turns out he was saying "Bay Leaves" and not "Baileys". He was letting me know because he saw that I was making the spaghetti sauce!

Some good news today.

Alex went to Toronto earlier this week to apply for a job with some ambulance services there.

This requires a written test, a practice "scenario" an interview process and some fitness testing.

He said 1000 people wrote the test and they were only taking the top 288 people to the next level.

He got word today that he made it to the next level

Not that I want him to move to Toronto but it's cool that he was amongst the top 288 out of 1000 people who were writing the test

He went last week to Ottawa to do basically the same thing with the ambulance service there.

He passed the written test but had some sort of problem with the "scenario" so he didn't make it past that.

He got a call today, inviting him back to Ottawa sometime in March to try out again.

So more good news.

Just wanted to let you all know that I've started posting pictures of my cruise.

Lots of pictures of Ann and Tom too.

I just wanted to let you know that while I do have a Facebook page, and I do try to check out what is happening on Facebook, I have the hardest time with that website.

It just does not load for me on my computer

It either takes forever or it just sits there and does nothing.

So, while I'd love to join in on the fun you are all having over there, I can't.

I'm also missing all the threadkillers who used to post here but now don't hang around much

I spend some time on facebook, but I don't spend any less time here on the boards. I mainly use it to chat with my sisters. I'm sorry your computer is giving you fits with that web page.

Tom said he's sorry your computer is doggie doo-doo and you wouldn't have this problem if you had an apple!
