Good Morning!!!

It is Friday, right?

:woohoo:

Yes it is Friday ::yes::

A few pictures for you from last weekends competition.

This is our camp set up for Thursday night. We usually travel with another couple and it was just our two trailers that were out there on that night.

It was so very nice and peaceful.

Notice the little airplane hangar on the right :rotfl:

By Saturday morning we had lots of company in our little paradise. It was still quite peaceful, even with all of the extra neighbours that we acquired.

Some airplanes:

A well deserved rest at the end of the flying day. I didn't realize that the awning of our trailer looked quite so "drunk" when I put it up:rotfl2: Next time I'll have to try to make it a little more even.

And just because they are so cute........ Mischief and Duster. ;)

Sometimes the airplanes get their own tent and sometimes they don't.

If there is an available indoor place to store them at the airfield they try to put them in there.

If not, then Rick's usually spends the night inside our trailer if we have the space.

So far we've had another guy staying in the trailer with us for most of our trips. So that makes it a bit more difficult.

As a real last resort they will cover them with tarps and leave them outside on the ground overnight.

Rick's plane is made of material that will soak up the moisture from the dew overnight and that is not good for it.

I hadn't really thought about Duster looking like Nala but yes she does a bit doesn't she.

Hi Threadkillers!

Sorry I've been off-line - I've been busy. We've had someone over for dinner 4 days this week! Plus, Wednesday was SWHNN's birthday, so I had to bake for that!

I'm busy today practicing....singing the mass tonight.

TW - I hope things go well with Mika and we'll be pulling for ya!

Robin - the pics look like you are having a lot of fun! Tinknutt is on her way to Colorado...they just left Wyoming.

Betsy - I hope you have fun with your sister - break out the karaoke machine - it's always fun for us!

PD - I was thinking of you this week. I ordered some cranberry cordials for DH & my sister for her birthday....they just love them!

CADZ - are you settling down from your traveling? I thought of you & your Italy trip. I recorded a show on the world's 10 most unusual McDonalds (I LOVE McDonalds) and they had the Rome McDonalds (at the Spanish Steps) as their #1 pick because it's so luxurious (and the food was awesome). I've actually been to two of their top ten. DH and I have plans to visit the oldest operating one. It's somewhere in California. Have you been there? I'll have to get the name of the town for you.

Well, I'm off to warm up the ol' vocal chords!

HI DU!

Hi everyone

Duster does look like Nala :goodvibes Robin your kitties are so cute!

Hey guess what? I bought the new iphone yesterday. Catch is... They had to order it because it was all sold out so I should get it some time next week. After waiting months for it's release I'm still waiting... :headache: Roger got the black and I got the white one.

Well I'm off to go wash my car... splattered bugs show up real good on black cars :rotfl:

i'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Had a great time, met Nsalz & family:cool1:

Hi Threadkillers!

I hope ya'll had a great Sunday! I didn't do much...made some banana muffins.

PC - Congrats on your iPhone. I've heard they're really cool. I had no idea you were such a gadget girl!

Robin - I don't remember if I told you, I really liked the pics of your trip. Looks like ya'll are having a GREAT time!

Speaking of great time...DalPal - Lovin' the trip report. I love the pics and slide show. Ahhhh...I can't wait to go again!

TW - how is your portfolio work going?

DU - are you resting up? Are you working on a trip report? Make sure we get a link, please!

Tomorrow & Tuesday I've got to clean, shop & cook. My DNiece is staying over for 2 days and we're having 5 people over for dinner on Wednesday. I'm going to try ALL new recipes. The dessert is going to be a New York cheesecake with a chocolate cookie crumble center & chocolate ganache on top.

I made a traditional New York cheesecake for my Dad to bring in for all the folks who helped him in Physical therapy....here's a pic...it's the one I made for his birthday....however, it's the exact same thing. Same request EVERY TIME!

Take care ya'll!

Ann, you have GOT to send me your cheesecake recipe!!!

That's the one I used to get for my birthday every year. Since the MIL's been gone, I've been getting the second best cheesecake in the world - from Mastori's in Bordentown Yum-MO!

Portfolio work is slow...I have a conference call to sit in on before Musikfest. I'm still trying to get an in for the Warper Tour (I have the guy's number now and will call him tomorrow.) Throw in scrapbooking, job searching, my husband and the puppies and that pretty much rounds out my busy schedule~

Cally, set your comments to be by approval only and you can eliminate alot of that spam. The trick is to delete with the button outside the comment box. Clicking inside the boxes can sometimes still let spam in.

My myspace is in my siggy~

Nice looking cheesecake Ann.

I'm not really what you'd call a fan of cheesecake though:confused3

Doesn't really appeal to me for some reason.

Sounds like you have been having a great time lately with all of your cooking and baking experiences.

It's so nice to hear that you are enjoying yourself so much, doing something that you love to do.

TW - I've got to type out the cheesecake recipe this week for the therapy staff, I'll be sure to PM it to you. It sounds like you're really busy. Why don't you just fly me up to NJ when you get a craving and I'll go ahead and make it for you :lmao: Seriously, it sounds like you have your hands full. How is Mika doing?

Robin - I was never a cheesecake fan, either. Then 15 years ago *BANG* I was a cheesecake fan! Go figure.... yeah, I do enjoy cooking and baking for everyone. The only downside is my food bill HUGE and there's just Tom and I. Fortunately, he's a good sport and understand that I have a few obsessions!

My nephew is getting pretty serious about his girlfriend and I'm thinking about making a practice wedding cake in case he proposes. I found a neat-o recipe that goes from making the cake (a lovely butter almond yellow cake with nectarine & butter cream in the center and buttercream frosting - but I'll probably change it up) to transport and decoration on-site and I'd love to give it a whirl.....I wonder how DH will feel when I tell him I want to make a 3 tiered cake that will serve 90 just in case!

uh oh Ann, sounds like you are going to need help eating these practice cakes;)

Actually I'm trying to behave myself lately.

Can't say that it's working really well though:lmao:

If I ever get that teleporter I keep asking for I could beam you over! Of course if I had one my preference would be for me to beam to Florida on a regular basis ;)

Mika seems ok.

Her appt is Tuesday - the bloodwork will tell us either way for sure.

Have you tried to work with fondant yet?

You could do wonders with that stuff once you learn how to work it.

My MIL made my wedding cake. The fondant actually helps seal in the cake's freshness. seriously. We ate our cake top a year later and it honestly tasted really really good!

Ann that cheese cake looks so good... for all you non eating cheese cake people, I will gladly take it off your hands... ;)

Thanks Colleen.

I'm sorry to hear about Mika and everything she is going through.
