Thank you everyone! Dad is doing just fine. He sounded groggy (drugged) in the background, but he was on morphine, as expected. ;) He'll be there 2-3 days, followed with 2-3 days at a rehab facility. We weren't expecting the rehab place, but whatever is best! :thumbsup2

Terrific news!! :woohoo: Glad to hear! Well wishes for his recovery now!

Kelly,
How is DD today?..Hope she is feeling better! :sunny:

Sorry if I replied already... but she is back to her old self! Last night she fell asleep on the other end of the couch! She woke up when I moved and smiled real big saying "hi mommy"! That told me there she was much better!

She will be tickled to hear all of the well wishes when I get her from school later! Thanks! :wave2:

Robin,
I decided I will wear the outfit...I was thinking that the shirt was to flashy for the pants...But now that I look at the pic ..I think it looks ok together...
What do you think?...The pants have a brown/gold pinstripe.that you cant see in the picture..

Here it is:

efaefdb9.jpg

So you have decided on your own. Good for you.

I like the sparkly shirt and I can just see a faint outline of the stripes in the pants (at the top).

Sorry I'm so late in replying. For some reason I lost the DISboards last night

The trip to Michigan was successful, we brought home the part but not totally successful. The part has been repaired but there is no guarantee for how long it will last and we need to get a new one made. So we can run for now while the new part is being manufactured at least. So that means another trip to Michigan in about 6 weeks or so.

Hey Kim, Rick's talking about a trip to Chicago sometime soon. One of our customers has their office outside of Chicago. He asked me...... do you want to go to Chicago. :confused3 Well...... DUH, of course I want to go to Chicago, silly question :smooth: I'll let you know if I am going to end up that way and maybe we can manage a short get together :yay:

Kim, glad to hear that your dad's doing well. :goodvibes

The drive will definately be well worth it! I have wanted to go back for sometime! We were watching the Superman movie the other day, and the kids commented on wanting to go to NF! This will be perfect!

Plus, I get to meet you guys too! Added bonus! :thumbsup2

I hope that you can come then, because it sounds like the whole family is interested.

There's lots of interesting things on the Canadian side of the falls, I've never really been to look at it from the American side though, so I don't know what it's like over there :confused3

WOO HOOO!!!

"manage" a "short get together"??? HELLLLOOOOO!!! YOU BETTER!!! :teeth: :thumbsup2 (You were close to being here once before, I remember :teeth: )

 everyone!!!

I saw Dad today :thumbsup2 , what a looongggg day tho. I am really feeling this cold I have now. My nephew arrived at 7:05 am and promptly fell back to sleep. :teeth: Kelly woke up at 8 tho. My Mom dropped by before she went to the hospital, and then my crew went with my SIL, niece, nephew, cousin and her 3 kids (10 of the 16 of the June WDW crew :earboy2: ) to a McDonald's playland for lunch, then for bowling (kids had bumpers :thumbsup2 ) and then my SIL dropped me at the hospital where I met my 2 brothers, saw Dad & Mom, and 1 brother dropped baby bro & I at my house, and we then went to his house to meet up with SIL and the kids, and finally, had dinner about 7:30! Got home a little before 9! Kids are sleeping (at least I think nephew is sleeping by now), I feel feverish, again, and I'm staying home tomorrow! Probably NOT doing or starting my BIG cleaning projects tho. :sad2:

Sorry to go on about ME and not reply to everyone else. :guilty: I get soo tired and yet loopy at the same time, my head is so congested.

Dad is uncomfortable but doing ok. He's still self-medicating with morphine. He's moving to a rehab facility on Thursday. I was told he walked from his bed to the hallway (maybe 6 feet) today, with a walker and without putting much, if any, pressure on his hip. :confused3 Dad is NOT liking feeling nauseous tho, at all! :( He recovered from a crushed pelvis 9 years ago, I'm sure he'll bounce back from this too. :Pinkbounc ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Thanks for everything, my friends! :grouphug:

:teeth: Kim, I'll keep you posted about our Chicago adventure. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a very busy day yesterday. I'm guessing that it's spring break for Kelly :confused3

I'm sure that your dad will start to do better real soon. He's got that great vacation to look forward to, that should be incentive enough to get him up and running again.

I hope that YOU start to feel better soon too. Being sick is not fun :sad2:

The sun is shining here this morning and it promises to be a beautiful day. It's freezing down here in the basement though. That's because the warmer weather make the upstairs nice and warm and the furnace doesn't run, so the basement gets chilly. Not that I'm complaining because I love the warm weather outside. I'll put on a sweater down here :p

Have a great day everyone.

I don't know if it's a good thing or not that hubby has the whole week off. He has been cooking up a storm and I have been eating way too much! :bitelip:

Which reminds me I have to comment on Betsy's pictures. You look very good! I can tell a big difference in those pictures!! Way to go!!! :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Well I'm gonna keep this short but I'll be back after I eat... We don't have any real plans for today except to go to the school and pick up one of my books!

Kim... great to hear about your dad! Hope he continues to do well! Here's hoping you feel better soon! pixiedust:

Hi Cally, sorry I missed you in the last post..... :wave2:

Any decisions on nursing school???

Well I'm still in the LPN program but I still have time to change. I just don't know if my financial aid could cover the RN program. I know how you mentioned that most hospitals will pay or re-emburse you but I would have to get into the hospital first right? :confused3

How is your garden looking?

BTW, I like your new siggie picture. You ladies look like you're having so much fun!

Kim, So glad to hear your dad did well on his surgery :wizard: and is recovering but sorry to hear you're feeling sick :guilty: . Seems like everyone is catching something these days. I hope you get well soon. :wizard:

U~ Thanks for the pictures of VMK. Hey guess what I got??? I got bat magic but I had to trade my submarine pin for it. :cheer2:

So Robin, your trip to Michigan was successful...did you have a fun drive or is it more like a nausance (sp?) ? How long does it take to get there?

Did you clean out those kitchen cupboards? :teeth:

Actually the trip was much better this time around. If you don't drive through Detroit it is easier traffic wise.

We took the ferry across the St. Clair River, which comes and goes from smaller towns, north of us and also north of Detroit. So bypassing Detroit. Boy did we ever drive though some "interesting" areas when we went through Detroit :scared1:

From the ferry on the US side it is all smaller less busy roads to get to where we needed to go. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get there.

We couldn't have timed it much better because as we were pulling up to the ferry dock, the ferry was arriving. The ferry ride is only about 10 minutes or so.

Coming home we had to cross at a bigger border because we had the part and customs papers to deal with.

We chose to try going through Port Huron Michigan instead of Detroit. Wow, much quicker and easier.

Also going by way of ferry and Port Huron it is much closer to home for us than going through Detroit.

As for those kitchen cabinets......... well........ I'm working on them......sort of :p

:lmao:
I've never experienced those ferry rides.. sounds fun tho.

U~ I met VMK_Red. She was very sweet! Hey that's cool that your mom joined VMK. I use to play everyday but not so much any more. I will let you know tho when I do decide to jump on.

Well I couldn't pick up my book today. I still owe some money :sad2: So I will wait til Friday to get it.

Today we cleaned out the cars. Actually I cleaned out the car while hubby taught DeVaughn how to ride his bike without his training wheels.

It was so cute watching him ride. :p He still has problems stopping but he can balance himself :lmao:

Woohoo I finally found my way back here after uh how long has it been? Hope to not wonder off again for too long as its too hard to keep up here if gone for more than a day . :rotfl: Hope everyone is doing well... now off to find my last post and get caught up. Uh oh this could take awhile.
