Hey, I bought myself a Christmas present today :goodvibes

mo00u6182k.jpg

It is in 3 entirely separate pieces. You can use each piece independantly if you want to. It has a loveseat with 2 reclining chairs and the sofa is a queen sized sofa bed.

I'm tired of sitting on nasty stuff downstairs here and have looked at this set for quite awhile now.

It is on sale and on the way to work I heard on the radio that if you brought in 5 cans of food for the food bank the store would "pay" the taxes on any furniture that you purchased.

Bonus.... that saved me $265.00 minus the cost of the food that I donated.

The only thing is that the set is out of stock and we probably won't get it until mid January. There is a slight chance that we will be able to get on the middle of December.

I don't really mind waiting. I'm not in a real hurry for it, other than when you want something you want it NOW ;)

Very nice Robin! I'm sure you'll enjoy it when it does arrive. Make sure you post pics of your new area!

Happy Thanksgiving back at ya, Rory. If I remember correctly, your wife is a nurse? Please thank her for working tomorrow - it's never fun, but it's always appreciated!

Tinknutt is working tonight and tomorrow night. She'll sleep here in the morning and have dinner with us (along with everyone else).

Well, almost done for the evening. I still have to brine the turkey (approx 8pm tonight) and set the table. I've got to get DH to help me connect the two tables and we didn't want to do it too early...but making progress!

Nice Robin! Looks so comfy.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Rory!

Have fun brining the turkey Ann.

Somebody's in a hurry for Christmas to get here...

At least it's pretty~

Cally, as long as you don't really need the cash why not wait til Roger comes home to find a job? Enjoy the time home with the kids, enjoy the holiday (as much as you can) and start the new year off with a new path...JHMO~

Ann....if the caramel recipe was one that wasn't meant to be shared (don't know if it is or not as my Aunt passed away)...you would be the ONE person on earth that i WOULD share it with....as it would be in the BEST of hands.....i will PM that to you....

Robin....:woohoo: on your new furniture....Now that we;ve furnished our house...i'm ready for a new leather set in the family room....what we have is only 4 yrs old - & i bought just an inexpensive set when we moved here to get us by...now i'm ready for a really nice set in there....hummmm Christmas bonus.....new furniture...you sure planted an idea:cool1:

Cally...i agree with Colleen.....if it's at all doable staying home awhile longer i sure would - pretty soon those 2 little guys are going to be 16 & doing their own thing...we hardly ever see that darn boy....always in his room studying or playing xbox.....guess it could be worse....at least we know where he is....
and WOW your neighbors ARE in a hurry.....i just can't get there yet....i need to get thru one holiday at a time....i most likely will start my Christmas letter this wkend - but not till sunday - only day i don't have anything planned....
So glad Dante is okay! My DSis spilled scalding hot soup on her legs when we were young & she had horrible scarring on one....don't know what degree that burn was....but her thigh was sure in bad shape for a long time!

Almost done cleaning....still need to mop the floors....but - they need to be vacuumed first (DH is SOOOO good at that - but he's watching Warriors)...so will probably do it in the morning while boys are sleeping....

Picked up the Prime Rib today - they cut, tied & seasoned it...so all i need to do is put in the oven at 10 & the ham about 11:30 i guess....for our 1 pm dinner....the rice (we don't have a meal in this house without rice - japanese husband & al)...gets started at noon....and i'll set the table tomorrow too. Stopped by Martinelli's & picked up a case of the Apple-Pomegranate (my favorite) & went to grocery store this afternoon for everything else i needed....Pies are in the refrigerator - remembered the ice cream & cool whip (lite of course) & DSIL is bringing a salad; veggies & rolls....so guess i'm ready

I love it! I think leather furniture is great, but DH doesn't want leather furniture, He's sure the kids will do something to ruin it.
 My neighbors house!!

How beautiful! I'd love to look out my front window and see that!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

I'm sure I won't be on tomorrow. I'm going to my mom;s early tomorrow. Leaving at 5:30 AM! I asked her if we can have Thanksviving at her house if all the kids make everything. SHe 73 this year and for some reaswon making dinner for 26 people is a little too tough for her:confused3 She's such a slacker!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We're having dinner at 1:30 so people can also visit in-laws. I volunteered to make the turkey and a bunch of other things so I have to be at her house by 6:00 to stuff the bird and have it in the oven by 6:30! Later we'll go to my MIL's for dinner #2! It will work out well. My family's crazy (and incredibly fun) gathering of 26 and then we can wind down at MIL's where it is just us and MIL. Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite day of the year!

One thing I am thankful for this year is the Tkers! What a wonderful group of "imaginary friends". You are all terrific. Wishing you all a very blessed Thanksgiving with those you love!

It looks like leather in the picture but it is not. I don't want leather either. I just don't really like sitting on it and we have a cat that seems to think that furniture is her personal scratching post:headache:

It is some sort of suede-like stuff.

It sounds like you will have a very full day tomorrow.

Actually you all sound like you have a nice day to look forward to.

I will be going to dance class and doing whatever I would normally do on a Thursday:thumbsup2

Cally, at least with that light display you should have no trouble seeing where you are going when it's dark outside :teeth:

I'm so glad that stuff wasn't too hot and didn't cause any damage to the boys. That would not have been a fun way to spend your Thanksgiving.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Happy pixie dust 112 Favorite Day!...tell the goils & Nsalz bunch I send my  !

Hey there PD....we are REAL people....not imagined...no need to spend money on a shrink to work out your 50+ imaginary TK friends:rotfl2: Have a VERY Happy TG Day for sure!!! and thank you for being Thankful for all of us!

ahhh Robin..yep looks like leather...maybe it's the microsuede...thats what we have in the 'living' room but i don't let too many people hang out in there...it's the first room you seen when you come in the house - so it is always spotless & stays that way easier when people don't go in there...

DU....glad to have you join us tonite...you've been BUSY BUSY BUSY it sounds....but everyone will be THANKFUL for you tomorrow while they're having dinner!!!

have a great night TK'ers...and for those of you not around tomorrow...have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving....

Colleen and Brenda~ you guys are so totally right!!! I'm holding off on the job hunt and Roger tells me the same thing. :thumbsup2 We're in no rush!!!

As far as rice goes.....I'm half asian so I TOO eat rice with everything! That's just the way I was raised. :confused3 What's a meal with no rice?!?!?!

Yes, the boys are fine. But they did get in trouble. No tv or video games!! They should know that meal time is NOT play time. I hope they learned their lesson.

DU~ I never thought of that! They decorated for Roger!!!! How sweet of them!!! What great neighbors I have. :lmao: We actually pulled out some Christmas stuff. We put garland with bows on the fireplace...a wreath on the door...and bows on the lights in front of the garage.

PD~ it sure does sound like you have a great family! I love spending the holidays with family. I do look forward to the days when I can invite my children and their children over for a holiday gathering, although I don't want to rush things cuz I like them young... :upsidedow  If that makes any sense....

We had fun baking cookies today! We tried the cake recipe for cookies and experimented a lil. I took a spice cake mix and made the recipe for cookies and added apples. They came out pretty good. :cutie:

We are up to our eyeballs in cookies over here:rolleyes:

Speaking of leather... our furniture is leather! And Nala does love to scratch her paws on it.

It's a dark brown leather so you really can't see the scratch marks on it but when you rub your hands on it you can feel it. :scared:

She has scratched it up pretty good too. We're in need of another set of furniture.

I think we'll use the leather set for the addition that Roger says he'll add to the house that I KNOW will never happen :lmao:

Hey I was thinking that our next set would be the micro-suede stuff too! I love the feel of it. We'll have to get that stuff to keep the cat off the furniture though or get her declawed.

We do have a scratching post for her that we recently replaced because she tore the old one up. She's got some nails! :sad2:

As far as rice goes.....I'm half asian so I TOO eat rice with everything! That's just the way I was raised. :confused3 What's a meal with no rice?!?!?!

:lmao: For my Irishness its POTATO'S:goodvibes
