I had a pic of him with his siblings.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: They looked like orphan refugees!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: He has that framed on his dresser...and when he married his wife...HIS ONE AND ONLY THING he made her promise him that if they had kids that she will always dress then nicely!

She Did!:thumbsup2 As my Mother always said "Those kids look like they just got out of the tub, and put brand new clothes on"!:wizard:

DU~ if he's still into football maybe you could get him some NFL gear...

There was a NFL show on QVC lastnight with some cool jackets! :cool2:

Nah, he REFUSES to wear anything with a name brand on it. He is quirky too! I did get him a really great Leather Jacket for his 40th(which he still wears).....BUT he does collect Beer Steins!

Since I started writing this post....He called and asked me if they make the old Carol Burnett Shows on DVD!!!!!!   He is big on showing his granddaughter all the old TV shows from 'the day"!!! He turned her into a HUGE "ANNIE" freak. She sings "It's a hard Knock life"......ALLLLLL DAY LONG. And if anyone yells at her, her pat answer is 'I Love You Miss Hannigan"! (she is 4):lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:teeth: No wonder my ears were burning.

I've never had one with no infusion. Do they at least salt and pepper the outside?

Robin, you were up late.

Hiya Kim

Betsy~ mom's recipes are always the best :thumbsup2 Good Luck :wizard: I'm sure it will be great.

hummm...didn't ask if they do that - but he did say they are usually full of alcohol (NOT the birds) - the chefs!!!!:rotfl:
speaking of "mom's recipes" - i have a homemade caramel recipe that was actually my aunt's....i really should break down & make those again some day...it just takes so darn long...stirring & stirring & stirring for hours....but boy are they good....melt in your mouth

Robin, you were up late.

Actually I am usually up that late every night:confused3

It seems that I just can't force myself to go to bed any earlier these days.

Of course then I have to sleep in later in the morning.

I figure, what difference does it make if I stay up late and sleep in or go to bed earlier and get up earlier:confused:

Just seems to the natural rythmn that I settle into if I let myself.

Sounds like you all have your Thanksgiving plans well in hand.

Enjoy your preparations.

Here is an interesting bit of trivia for you.

Alex (whose birthday was just on Sunday Nov 18) had 3 very close friends as he was growing up.

The four of them would hang around together a lot of the time.

Tyler, Matt and Stephen ALL celebrate their birthdays today :dance3:

Kind of interesting how four friends were all born so close together.

Alex still sees Tyler a lot as his parents live across the street (no not THAT neighbour :lmao: ). They also get together just to hang out.

Matt he still sees and talks to occasionally.

Stephen he has not really been friends with since the end of Grade 8.

Hey Ya'll!

Ya'll were chatty last night! First off.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADORABLE! Your friend sounds just like one my son's good friends. I always liken him to a piece of candy - a crunchy candy outside and pure marshmallow inside!

I am TOO chicken to fry a turkey. I'm paranoid about that sort of stuff. I'm so hurricane paranoid that I have a tree that grows NO taller than 20' and it's 21 feet away from the house in ALL directions!

I've been busy with Thanksgiving preparations - as I imagine everyone is! I've got the coconut cream custard cooling and those two pies are almost done. All the casseroles are done. Cherry pies are next. I'm currently printing the menus (the ink takes a while to dry on the vellum paper and the first batch was smudged). The table is completed and inside, the linens ironed, but I still have to set it. Brining turkeys tonight and when they go in the roasters, I've got the little stuff....nearing completion!

CADZ - I'd LOVE the caramel recipe. I have an easy one that I like to make and would love to try yours....if you're willing to share. Sometimes heirloom recipes are kept strictly inside the family.

Betsy - good luck with your cheesecake - I'm sure it will be amazing!

Hiya the rest of the gang...gotta scoot - the timer just went off!

Dang! I killed this thread like the proverbial Thanksgiving turkey....

Robin, I'm sorta the same way now that I don't have school. I still need to get up at 630 in the mornings to get the kids ready for school but then as soon as they walk out the door I'm knocked out! My body does what it wants :confused3

I've been looking (sorta) for jobs but it's kind of hard right now. Most people want to start you at nights and with Roger leaving Sunday I won't have anyone to watch the kids.

Hey, I got some cleaning done today!!! I was forced to do it! Roger made some Ramen for the kids for lunch. They were sitting down at the table eating it and I guess goofing around and Dante knocked his whole bowl of Ramen...soup and all... all over himself and the floor. :scared1: :headache:

The juice splattered all over the floor, chairs and on the wall

Soooo, I had to bust out the mop whether I wanted to or not and get to mopping and cleaning.

I'm glad that the Ramen was not steaming hot...the kids had been sitting at the table for a while so it had a lot of time to cool off before it splattered all over them. :sad2:

Anyhoo~ got the floors mopped. ;)

Gotta vacuum the carpets and dust tho. Roger is so sweet. He offered to help and asked if there was anything for him to do.

But I told him I had it. If I want it done right I have to do it myself. :snooty: :lmao:

Oh yea, I got the eggs boiled for deviled eggs but I won't devil them til later. :upsidedow
