Hello everyone.
You ever wake up one morning and decide you don't feel like going to work? OK everyone does. Friday was one of those days. But seeing that I'm the one running the job I have to show up. But when I got there another foreman showed up and another kid (apprentice) so the work I planned out for my partner and I got pushed off to the new guys. So then I called my wife to see if she could call in sick and we go somewhere. Maybe the zoo or the aquarium or something. By 9 o'clock she called in and I was on the way home. But where to go? It was HUMID and rainy so no to the zoo. To drive downtown to the aquarium at that time was not a great idea but still viable. Then I thought about going to the place we use to go on vacation up in Wicsonsin. They had rooms. Then Amy remembered a place close that had a waterpark connected to the hotel. So we let Zoe decide where to go. She decided the close one. She made a great choice.
It was in a Sheridan hotel with a nice waterpark set up. 10 slides, little to big, (she was to small for the big ones) lazy river, a little ones 0 depth pool set up like a priate ship with a 10 foot big screen tv, that was on the sail, that played Disney channel all day with slides. We stayed all day yesterday till 10 PM then stayed overnight and went back in the morning till 2pm. When we got home we all took a well deserved nap. I needed a break from work and the house so this fit in really well. Here are some clickalbe pics of Kiddeland and yesterday.

Sounds like you had a wonderful idea Rory.

Running away from home is sometimes a lot of fun:thumbsup2

My how the kids have grown. Kelly has changed a lot since I last saw her.

You can really see that they all belong in the same family.

Helloooo!!

How are you?

:)

I'm still chugging along:thumbsup2

How's everything in your part of the country.

Speaking of your part of the country I was just not too far from you.

I drove my daughter to Camp Walden about 40 minutes east of Bancroft on HWY 28.

I probably have to go back in three weeks to pick her up again.

:sad2: The things we do for our children :sad2:

DU~ are a 'trillionaire' today - did the Powerball come thru for you?????:goodvibes

:rotfl: only if you want her back at home huh?:rotfl: but seriously enjoy the times you get to drive her & pick her - it's just all too soon they're driving themselves.....also gotta say - it was pretty nice having the boy go get Starbucks for his Dsis & me yesterday:banana:

Technically she is perfectly capable of driving herself there and back since she is 20 years old ;)

She didn't feel comfortable doing it though because she would have to drive thru Toronto and she isn't used to that major of a highway.

Also she's a big wimpy who still loves to have her mommy drive her places:lmao:

My son's girlfriend is also working at this camp for the summer. I only just met her for the first time last week when I dropped Liz off at camp:rolleyes:

She lives in the same city as we do and she drove herself to camp.

Sooo if the two girls get along well enough together maybe Liz can get a ride home with the girlfriend and save me the trip and give Steph some company on the drive home too:confused3

Of course I don't know for sure if Steph is even coming straight home so I'll have to wait and see what happens. I'll probably be driving down that highway again in a couple of weeks :moped:

It's okay because I really don't mind. I agree with you Brenda. I enjoy the time that we have alone together in the car. You have to savour it while you can.

OOOPsss ~ thought she was 'going to camp' & was maybe age 12....but that's cool that she likes you to still drive her.....yes - we do have to savor those moments for sure!

No she was "going to camp" to work there as a nurse for the next 3 weeks. Camp is a 7 hour drive from home.

Some days I wish that I could turn the clock back to the days when she was 12, for sure. ;)

But unfortunately that is not allowed.:guilty:

I've been very fortunate that while she goes out and does lots of things on her own or with friends, she still seems to enjoy my company and likes me to go places with her.

Actually I think she just likes me to come along because my wallet is always in my pocket:rotfl2:

Hiya Threadkillers!

So much for a "me" weekend

Brittany decided to have a party for herself last night, she told me Friday night

I spent most of my day yesterday cleaning and getting stuff we needed for saturday, my son and Cate helped, Cate even made cupcakes for Brittany's birthday party :teeth:

I woke up to a mess of a yard, two of my son's friends helped me clean it up. (Adrian and Brittany both had to work today.)

Today I gotta get my laundry done~

Happy Sunday everyone :sunny:

Sorry I haven't been able to catch up with everything. School is starting to get hectic and it is taking a lot to keep up with everything!

And it's so tiring..... Ahhh can't wait for our Disney trip!!!!

Well just wanted to say Hi and hope everyone is doing well :goodvibes

It's Roger's birthday today  Gonna grill out and eat cake!! Everyone's welcome to join :yay:

Happy Birthday, Roger

Have a wonderful day with your family.

I'm not doing much of anything today. I'd love to come to a barbecue.:goodvibes
