Brer_Papa, I leave you in charge of seeing how much trouble you can cause while Hollyann is in charge

Hi Brer_Papa, I am trying to figure out how all of this strange deeevices work here on the DISboard

I have never tried to use them before!!

kewl stuff

Neat -o !

I have a pretty poor throwing arm. I am sure that I would miss you if I tried to throw a pie at you!!

I think we should just eat that pie.

I prefer pumpkin if possible ;)

well..you posted when I was writing that novel...i mean...previous post....

I figure that was a tough one for you....

you are an  ....you took him in...made him healthy....and now found him a good, loving, caring home....he was lucky to meet you...

if it's any help...heres a pie...throw it at me...I won't :duck: or anything....

I know but it feels empty around here, even though I have 2 cats sleeping right here in the same room as me in the basement :p

I am sure that I will get over it pretty quickly. We tried to keep him out of the house, I always left the garage door up a bit so that he could get inside and stay dry in the rain. Lately though he really wanted to come inside. He couldn't understand why the other cats could come in and he couldn't :(

Now he has his own house where he can stay inside and keep warm and dry and be loved! ::yes::

Pumpkin is very possible!

I ever tell you about my Sister? Now that girl can cook!

and even better...that girl can can....

she cans up some pie fillings...one of which is...pumpkin (drool)...and its go-o-o-o-o-o-od!

I am very partial to her elderberry filling....

anyway...she also does spiced pears...OH MY GOODNESS! i need bib....

she does all kinds of stuff....fruits...vegetables....juices...jellies....jams....

I think canning is becoming a dying art...good thing I have an inside track...

I know...I know...more free food...

well...if you can't / won't throw the pie...let's sit and enjoy a slice... :) :)

this is the longest conversation I ever had about any cat....

I think i would have preferred you just threw the pie at me....

you know I'm only joshing with you...hoping to :cheer2: you up a little bit....

I'd send you our cat i I could...but you'd wonder if he was a dog in cat's clothing.....or just a pretty boy sissy cat....or both....

quote: I'd send you our cat if i could"....hmmm...how many stamps you figure that would take....

I wonder how they would deal with that parcel at the customs office!!! Do you think they would open a hissing snarling parcel to see what was inside ;)

I bet it wouldn't arrive with the dreaded yellow tape that says opened by customs on it!!!!:p

You can keep your kitty Brer_Papa, I already have 2 little devils, oops I mean sweethearts of my own to deal with. One likes to claw the furniture and the molding around the door to get out  Good thing she is just so cute!!

The other one is a big lump of a cat who is a such a cutie. He is sleeping right now with both his front legs up over his head like a baby. Cute.

kitty story
...

when DH was in the Marine Corps we were stationed at Camp Pendleton living in Base Housing.. 4 plex upstairs apt..... anyway I was the "mom" to alot of the Marines... even tho I was only 23.
One of the guys, Herb, was transfered to Japan.. upon parting he gave us a Kitty... We named her Frostie.... Well Frostie was a "loose" kitty... she got pregnant very early in her life. She ended up having 7 kittens on the hottest day of the year 106*!!!
She had them in my closet... 7 mutant Kittens... kinked tails, one eyed, stubbed tails, crazy dumb kittens... well Frostie got a fever after delivering the kitties and she went insane! One day I came home from work to find 7 kitties climbing up my brand new curtains in the living room... they were having a party... hanging gleefully from the near top of the curtains.... NO WAY! and Frostie was in another room meowing and hissing insanely and fighting anyone/anything that came near her..... Frostie went to the vet that day,, hubbie caught her in a big sack..... and was put out of her misery... Kitties went to find new homes to make other little boys happy too. ( as told to my 4 y/o son) thank goodness they were all adopted quickly.. they were an odd looking group but that made them cute in their own odd way.

Your grandkids sound very sweet BP!!

I wish my grandbabies lived closer.. but I do the grandma thing long distance. I send bubblegum, playdough and silly putty to them by mail... my mom used to do the same for my kids when we were stationed far from the midwest.

Bye for now!!! Just thought I would leave a little reminder behind so that you have something to remember me by while I am gone ;)

Hi everyone!

BrerPapa, Woodchuck qualifies as a gross food. If you can't get the meats in a supermarket it qualifies! US Markets! I lived in Sicily for 3 years and they sold as much horse meat as they did beef!

Hubby is calling - going out to b'fast! Have a great day! I'll check back later!
Ann

Hi Stepharoonie! Hope you're having a good day! We returned from b'fast and fixed a drain in the yard (actually improved it - it wasn't broken and hubby did the work!). I changed the sheets, they're in the wash and we're looking at lunch, reading, nap & church tonight!

BrerPapa, I don't have a WDW oddity. My favorite thing about WDW is at Snow White's Scary Adventure....when I go with people who aren't Disneyphiles, I have them watch the window above the ride....they are always surprised when the evil Queen appears!

I've been about a dozen times, but the last time was about 4 years ago. I've been to Disneyland more. We lived in California (on & off) for 12 years or so. I always made the trip at least 3 times a year. We only lived about an 1.5 hours away.

Ya'll take care!

Welll....last night...i got the pop-up that said "too busy".....

oh well....it was pretty late anyway...

took DMIL & PA to their family reunion...about 2 & 1/2 hours away....on a rainy day....

got back late..by the time I got everything unloaded and put away....i would have been here by myself....

so....got the lawn baled...i mean...mowed today....now ust relaxing.....gotta pick up DMIL shortly and head to WishingStar's...

BD party for Corey....

Hi HollyAnn!
(Wouldn't it have been great to be ut to breakfast with Tom and have Ozzie and Harriet come in and sit with you? hmmm...on second thought...Ozzie had no job....Tom would have had to pick up the check)....

so....if you find meat at a supermarket...it is not considered gross huh?

well...with that understanding....would you like tomatoe-lettuce-mayo...or mustard & onion with your fried pig-snout sandwhich?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm having a BLT....same critter....better location...

Hello Stepharoonie! :wave2:

always a nice day when you visit...

OK! today's oddity....

every trip now....I have to have a smoked turkey leg AFTER my 1st ride on "Splash Mountain"...it just doesn't taste as good if I have the turkey leg BEFORE my 1st Splash Mountain ride....strange but true...

PSSSST! Lurkers? What's your turkey leg taste preference?

{QUOTE from a previous post on secret decoder screen setting A 9...posted by Brer_Papa}

Won't Cruisin' be surprised to find the "Welcome Home" pumpkin pie left on her puter chair when she gets back....

I do hope she looks before she sits down..

if she doesn't....everybody repeat after me:

"It's the thought that counts!"

Hi Brer Papa,

Missed you today! I'm just relaxing. Hubby mowed the lawn and I got some laundry done. Right now, he's asleep on his chair and I'm at the computer.

We're going out later today for a soda & coffee - just to sit and talk. We enjoy that. Then we'll have dinner and relax. However, I think I can sneak a nap in before we go out.

Ya know, I've never had a turkey leg at WDW, but I heard they're wonderful. Since I'm on a low-carb diet, that's something I'll make sure to have while I'm there. Is the turkey leg kiosk by Splash Mountain?

Our biggest tradition is we always visit Pirates first. We have ever since I was a little kid. Growing up in a military family, we were in So.Cal a lot, so we visited Disneyland usually once a year. It's nice to continue traditions....isn't it?

BTW, you can' t get a pigs snout at the supermarket I frequent! How 'bout a nice Stadium Braut with sauteed onions on a bun (I'll skip the bread - locarb) and either a soda or a beer and great conversation?

Ciao! I'll check back later - great to hear from you!

 Guess what??????

I'm back :p

I missed you guys while I was gone. I mentally sang the theme song of the thread killers about 200 times while we were zipping along the highway ;)

We had a safe trip. We enjoyed seeing our friends farm up in the far north of Ontario  . Very beautiful country and they have a great river that flows by the edge of their farm, just beautiful and so peaceful and non populated!!!!

They have built themselves a small cabin that they live in while they are up there. It is round and is built with logs and cement. The logs go right thru the walls from the outside into the inside and are surrounded by cement. You don't see the sides of the logs at all just the ends sticking out of the wall. Very unusual. Not your typical log cabin style. They also have a grass roof :earseek: . Yup, they put tons of dirt (literally!!!) up there and planted grass on it. They also have no hydro.

I wish I knew how to post pictures cause I would post you one. If you are interested and want to see a picture I do know how to email pictures. So send me a pm with your email address if you want to see it.

Their daughter and her boyfriend were also up there. We didn't know they were coming. Heather is our god daughter and we don't see her often so it was nice to spend some time with her. She is 21.

Anyway it is good to be back.

By the way I am computing from upstairs in my son's bedroom since my daughter has friends down in the basement :D So I have not sat in any pumpkin pies, nor did I see any when I was downstairs. HMMMM, I wonder where my pie went!!!!

 Hi Kim :teeth:

Glad that you have arrived back home safely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were really, really good while you were gone, weren't we guys ::yes::

WAAAY TOO MUCH TO REPLY TO!!!! SO MUCH FUN, TOO!!! Missed ya all! Phil, big {{HUGS}}, and prayers too. Please post soon.

JOAN, JOAN, JOANIE.....ya done good warden...oops, Mama! ;) :p

BP, SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I'm not cat-friendly either.

I'll try to catch up again tomorrow night. I'm dealing with a 2nd case of LICE right now............MAJOR GROSS/DISGUSTING!~~:scared: :sad2:

 :wave2:  :wave2:  :wave2:

:teeth: I'M BAAAA-ACCCCCCKKKKKKK

:wave2: Kim

I hear ya with the lice business. Been there, done that, hopefully never doing it again.

My daughter was about 5 or 6 and she had very long, waist length hair. It was a hot summer and we spent hours sitting under the tree pulling nits out of her hair

It was kind of funny though, she made an alphabet book that summer, drew the pictures and wrote the words........ A is for apple...........B is for boat............. .......... N is for nit :p .

Aw well, she learned a new word that summer anyway ::yes::

Sorry we talked so much while you were gone, but we missed you and had to pass the time some how ::yes:: :teeth:

Kelly is 6-1/2, and I still haven't checked back on the calendar to see what we did, where she might have gotten these nasty things. I swear, if I hear NITS one more time, I'm gonna scream!! :crazy2: HOW ON EARTH do I get ALL the nasty little things OUT of her hair????!!! She has VERY FINE, short hair, and the comb just doesn't get them at all! Treatments are one thing, removing them is another story! She cried tonight from her neck being sore from holding it in one/or more positions. (I'm waiting to hear from my Ped nurse/cousin, to see if the BRAND we bought really works...this OTC stuff worries me) :( Do I change/wash her linens & towels everyday?? We already threw away all the combs & brushes we use individually, just to be safe, and we bought all new ones. Do I throw those away now, too? I really didn't want to bring this home, but that's exactly what I'm facing right now.  :(

I can't stop itching myself either! :crazy2: :scared:

KIMS!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hey there girlfriend! Glad to see you back... but Lice...  OH CRAP!!

What a mess.. ok the only suggestions I have.. as they worked for the neighbor lady...

1. Wear clean shower caps... you and Kelly after the treatments... sounds weird I know but it was the only thing that kept May from getting re infested... after the 2nd reinvestation.
Do it for a day or two around the house until you have washed everything and anything that can be washed in hot water.
2. Section Kel's hair with those big clips... use the finest BLACK comb you can to go thru her hair in wee bitty sections.
3. ok.. as far as cleaning this is what finally worked for May.
1. Strip everything soft from Kelly's room and bath
2. put it in sealed garbage bags until it is washed
3. while everything is removed from Kel's room.. vaccuum like crazy..every nitch wash clothes, bedding, towels, stuffies.. yup all of it...
4. only replace everything in the room AFTER it has been cleaned
5. Close off this room until the rest of the house is cleaned.
Do this to each and every room in the house.... ya it is a pain in the butt... but honest kim it is the ONLY thing that kept May and her two kids from getting re infested... it was a hec of a week. The woman was soooo frustrated.
I helped her do this all as her hubbie was out of town... I itched the whole time I was there and then when I got home too... completely nutty... I wore the showercap while there.. put on a clean one each time.. BEFORE I entered the house .. and changed clothes in the garage before I went into my own house..

Oh ya.. CLEAN THE VAN TOO!!!

DANG.. I am sitting here scratching my head Now... geez louise... the power of suggestion is strong in my weak little brain!
Hope the vacation went well.. talk to you soon!
Joan, Joanie... mamaj!!
