Not sure I could live in an area with the venomous snakes.

I have the same issue with bears and alligators! I worry about Allie every day since the path she runs on borders the lake in her apartment complex and bears are SO big! But we learn the habits of animals and just learn to be aware. I can't imagine the issues the searchers have had to deal with searching for flood victims! I read in one interview the cottonmouth water moccasin snakes were REALLY bad in the water and debris. And those suckers are MEAN! They'll actually chase you. Makes me shudder to think about it!

I’ll take a bear over a snake any day. We have a few bears that roam around our town. One attacked our bird feeder and broke it and ripped a birdhouse off a tree.

That would SCARE ME! In your backyard??? Of course, a bear is a LOT easier to see than a snake! Those suckers can be hiding anywhere!
