Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Okay, we will try to behave.

It is kind of hard to misbehave since Brer_Papa has gone missing again on us. He is the one who causes all of the trouble ::yes:: ;)

How long are you planning on camping? Are you taking the dog with you?

Have a great time ........... we will miss you too

I'm back one more time! I completely understand regarding BrerPapa. ::yes:: While I wouldn't label him as a "trouble maker" he certainly is an incorrigible flirt! Despite his angelic smilies!

We're not taking Holly dog with us. Since we're tent camping we're worried about her barking when she hears noises. She's going to my folks and will be spoiled rotten while we're there.

We plan to go on Tuesday and will come home on Thursday. Looking forward to it.

Again, ya'll take care and TRY to behave!

I will miss you too, Ann! Please find a peaceful spot (not too hard to find, I imagine, in FW), and just think of us for a moment, ok? ;)

MIL is still hanging on, fighting the sleep that even the morphine should give her, and yet she says she wants to go NOW. :( I said goodbye to her earlier, and told her I loved her. It's so hard, and so sad. She turned 74 this year, Robin, although you'd never know it to look at her, or my FIL. They have been so healthy, and youthful (except for MILs pulmonary condition) as long as I've known them. She has had, imo, a very good life, with lots of stories, too. ;) She has 8 children, umpteen grandchildren, and quite a few great-grandchildren.

My DD was a bit more upset tonight when she asked about grandma and what I thought might happen to her. :( I didn't lie, but I hope I explained it as best I could. This is her first loss, and she kept saying how much she was gonna miss her. We ALL will. So, we hugged and cried together. And my DS has not been home all weekend (with his dad), but I felt it was time to prepare him as well. He's a junior, and he worries about school when there ISN'T anything happening, so I thought it best to fill him in so he could start making some plans with school and work. He wished I had told him sooner, so he could have gone to see her. I guess I'm not handling this too good with my kids. :( Heck, I'm not handling it that well with myself.

Thanks for listening everyone.

Aw, Kim, I feel so bad for you and your family right now.

Is there a chance that your son could still get to see her, even if he had to miss school to do it? Or is she too far gone for that already?

74 is too young. Isn't it amazing how quickly your perspective of age changes as you get older ::yes:: To me 74 still seems young. Although my in - laws may be in their early seventies they are certainly not "young". I am not sure that they ever have been young, at least not in attitude!!

I am glad that you have had such a good relationship with your MIL, Kim. I am sure that you have brought each other much happiness.

Kim, you are doing the best that you can in a difficult situation. Don't blame yourself for anything that you think you could have/should have handled differently. These things are hard to get through and there are always regrets.

Try to get some rest, because you are going to need all the strength you can get in the next few days.

Kim, I noticed the change in your Weight Loss counter. Wow !!!

Congratulations, although I am sure all of the stress you have been under lately has helped you to lose even more weight.

Just be careful to eat properly to keep up your own health. Your kids will need you in the next while.

Judging by your pictures that I have seen you must be close to or at your goal weight, you sure are looking good!!!

:D

Robin, you & Ann have been so very helpful, and comforting to me for such a long time now, I can't ever thank you enough.

To answer: DS could still go see her, even tonight, right now, given the circumstances, I just didn't know that he wanted to. :( To be blunt, DS is a step-grandchild, although my ILs NEVER treated him any different than their blood-grandchildren. (My in-laws never used the word 'step', ever) DS was their grandchild for several years before my DD arrived, and they treat both my kids equally, as they do ALL their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, blood, step, or live-in/visiting, I swear. Their hearts have always been more open to any situation than even my own parents. :o However, I think it's beyond the time when Grandma would know he was there. :(

My own parents both turned 60 this year, so I'm experiencing the age difference I guess. My husband is only 10 years younger than my parents! And I'm 8 years younger than my husband. My inlaws had great-grandchildren before my DD was born - HUGE age differences in a large family. I was talking with my husband's, married nephew and his wife tonight, as well as his niece who drove herself from a college in Missouri to see Grandma, as well as a set of twin, adult nephews, college-age. Weird to me, even though I have a big extended family as well.

And Robin, I have an ex-mil, who NEVER liked me, until I divorced her ds, LOL....so, I understand how hard that situation can be.:( Thankfully, I rarely see her, although when I do see her now, we're civil, almost polite. My mother has her own thoughts about my husband now, so it's not even as 'nice' as your situation. It's just so hard right now.

A.N.Y.way, yes, I lost 4.5 lbs this past week, thank you for noticing again ;). Stress? Maybe. Sick? Yes. Eating right? No. Exercising? Barely, not in the past 5 days. I don't feel as stressed as I do feel sad. :( Even though that didn't start until just yesterday. Not sure WHAT'S going on with my body right now. In January, I thought 70 lbs, but as I near that goal, I'm thinking the 75 lb BLUE clippie would look nice, too. ;)

AGAIN, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, SO VERY MUCH! YOU JUST DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME. :grouphug:

(My husband still isn't home.....not sure if that's bad or good):(

Thoughts and/or prayers for a peaceful passing for my DMIL, if you can.

Many Thanks,
Kim

Good morning Snow Angel. Were you up early this morning or did you stay up late last night

Hang in there Kim. No time for long posts this morning I am running late already.

Hey Ann, have a good trip in case you check this before you leave. I was wondering? When you tent camp in Florida, do you take any sorts of precautions against the fire ants (or whatever they are called)?

Morning anyone else, who is happening to look here :sunny:

Morning Robin!

Actually never went to bed. I went to er last night at nine, didn't leave till 2am! Long wait.. ended up being upper respiratory infection. Mainly just my back and chest hurts though.

Morning all! Just checking in to see how everyone was doing.

SnowAngel, take care of yourself and hope you're feeling better soon.

Kim, I wish I had a magic wand that I could just make everything "pouff" away for you. You have to take care of yourself, which it doesn't sound like you're doing!! Take some time out for yourself and just meditate if you can. I know it sounds weird but it can be very helpful. Thoughts and prayers to your DMIL. Lots of :grouphug: thoughts, prayers...whatever you need!!

Morning Robin!! Beautiful fall morning out here this morning. It is about 40 degrees but feels like 35!! Burr...didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Happy belated Anniversary!!!

Where's BP? Come out, come out, wherever you are!! Another week flushed further down the tubes. At least I played the best guys I had. Don't know what's going on...how 'bout you?

Morning to anyone I have forgotten.
:sunny:

Snow Angel, I hope that you feel better soon. It does seem to be the season for that type of illness doesn't it.

Hi luckymommy, quite cool here this morning too and it was extremely foggy when I took my daughter to school at 8. We live on a small circle, 10 houses in total. We are the second house in on the straight part, couldn't even see the houses in the end of the circle, that's how foggy it was. Yet the school buses were running for the kids out of town. I hope they all make it to school safely. Now at 8:30 when I came back home it was much less foggy.

Kim, I tried to go back and delete my little whiny, MIL rant before anyone saw it but you were too quick for me ;).

How nice that your in laws treat everyone the same. Mine seem to play favourites among their grandchildren and they only have 2  , both mine. They have always seemed to favour my son, although they would deny it till they were blue in the face. I was actually worried when my daughter came along that my son would be forgotten, because they had 2 sons and then a grandson, so I thought a granddaughter would be a novelty. Well I needn't have worried about that.:(

When my mother in law went off the deep end a few years back, she had so many nasty things to complain about our daughter (when she wasn't ranting about me, that is ::teeth::). When we said well, how come everything is about her, what about Alex???? The only complaint she could come up with was, he doesn't take his coat off when he goes to their house  , oooooooo, major complaint there!!!!!

If it is not already too late, would it help your son if he could see Grandma one last time??? Even if Grandma doesn't seem to know that he is there?? It might make him feel better, and who knows maybe she will know that he was there? We don't really know what people hear and sense when they are in that kind of state. It could also make your son feel worse ............. maybe you could offer the option to him and let him make the choice.

Take care of yourself Kim!!!

Dear Kim....

Let me add my prayers being said for your DMIL....and may you and yours receive all the strength and comfort in the days ahead....

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time...

God bless.

Well, well, well, look who the :space: dropped off into DISland again!!

Nice to see you again Brer_Papa ::yes::

Hey, Brer_Papa

The other day I happened to come across a concert pianist who has the exact same name as you :earseek: .

Is there something you forgot to tell us ;)

When you disappear from the DISboards, are you really out on the road doing the concert pianist tour :scratchin

Good evening ThreadKillers and Lurkers alike!

Shazbot! HollyAnn left before I could give her a helpful hint or 4 on tent-camping at Fort Wilderness....

I would have told her to take a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign for when she takes her "naps" with Tom in the tent....FW doesn't provide them.....

and....to check for armadilloes and peacocks before getting in the sleeping bags....

OH! sometimes chickens roost in the trees above the tents....i hope they have some anti-chicken-doo-doo covers in case their tent has a mesh top....

hmmmm....if yu make some campfire beans....look for a duck to follow around for awhile....(they're plentiful)....blame the duck....

and no....i have no personal experience with this one  .....uhmmm...i read it somewhere?

Looking forward to her report...I enjoy FW alot!

Hi SnowAngel!

I let my most painful arm just dangle when I lay down on the bed or the couch....if the other acted up...i just reversed myself....

hope it all works out...btw....the surgery put me out of action a day....then, it ws just a matter of acclimating myself with 1 arm..i made do..

Hello LuckyMommyX2! :cool1:

I had Ahman Green in a fantasy league...he CHOKED!! the son of a gun could have got more yards if he just fell forward at the line of scrimmage!

You know....i was wondering....what if stilts make a comeback...wouldn't it be cool if I took up the stilts? (no pun intended)

AND....if stilts make a comeback...wouldn't it be even cooler
if WE learned how to tap dance in stilts????

so...here's what I'm thinking....just in case they do make a comeback...

I need to know how tall you are....so I can make or order stilts so we're the same height..

we get the stilts....you teach me how to tap dance...i teach you how to juggle...

AND!!! I repeat...AND!!

we wear kilts!!

Kilts & Stilts

that'll be our stage name...maybe we can get a gig @ WDW....

on Wednesday...at precisely 8 PM Eastern....we all click on this thread....there should be enough of us to top 40,000 views....so...synchronize your watches....SET!

P.S. hey Kim.... still thinking of you...hope my silliness and nonsense gives you a smile... you are such a good friend....

:Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

I googled my formal name and saw the dude....he's REALLY old....
I tried to email him in case he wanted to put me in his will.... (j/k)

however...if you put in Bill instead of Wiliam...you'll find me....ayup...i'm a google-eee

now here's a story....after Kara and I got backfrom the 1000 mile Corvette parade in 2002...I got a phone call from an elderly fellow....from Flint Michigan...

turns out he was in the research and development department for GM in the early 50's....he and his partner test drove the original Corvette concept cars BEFORE they went into production and for sale in 1953...

his partners name was the same as mine except for the middle initial..mine is "O...his is "F"....

how cool is THAT!?!?!?

:rotfl: Kilts and Stilts, huh :scratchin

You know, crazy as it sounds, that is not such a crazy idea :teeth:

I can just picture all of us thread killers stilt- tap dancing our way through one of Disney's Parades, all the while juggling ????????? what would we juggle ???????????????

That is interesting about that guy with the corvettes and your name. I didn't realize that your name was that popular. It is quite unfamiliar to me. I hadn't ever heard it before I met you.

If I google you, will I find out all of your deepest darkest secrets :smooth: Things like driving sleighs and playing with elves????

You know that somehow doesn't sound right, googling someone :earseek: :earseek:

How's this: :teeth: :p :teeth:

And, I'm not sure about the kilts, or the tap dancing, or the juggling, but as a kid, I did have stilts, and did them quite well. ;)

I goggled myself and could find anything other than my genealogy posts of genboards

Guess just not that interesting :p

How are you feeling Snow Angel? Those respiratory infections can really knock you out. :( I'm still 'barking' from the cold, or whatever I've had.
