Sorry to hijack the post, but what are the weather and crowds like during the 3rd and 4th weeks of August? I'm trying to talk my wife into going, but she keeps having nightmares of our trip from two years ago when we went in July...hot, humid, and crowded. When I ask her about going at the end of August she replies "hot, humid, crowded, and hurricanes"!

Any comments from the "August" crowd?

I'm trying to talk my wife into going, but she keeps having nightmares of our trip from two years ago when we went in July...hot, humid, and crowded. The "hot & humid" is the same - the big difference to us is that it is not as crowded for the last 2 weeks of August. A lot of school districts in FL and the south go back to school mid-August. Even with free dining, I think the weather keeps many away thumbsup2) in August. Hurricane season is pretty long so I don't know if August corners the market on hurricanes.

We also like the middle-end of August because it's a nice way to end the summer before the kids go back to school & we don't have to worry about pulling them out and missing school work (the older they get, the more of a pain this is).

We take it slower....earlier and longer pool time.....spend a day at a water park.....go to Disney Quest (A/C!), etc. We'll be going in August for the forseeable future.

I was down for AKV Kidani for 8/4-12 - instead we will be at Vero Beach 8/4 - 7 and 8/7 through the 12 at AKV Kidani. (if no change with dad or points will be going into holding).
