Quick poll based on another DISer's thread:

I love Disney but while they are putting billions in a wrist band, Universal is building incredible attractions.

I would normally do 1 day Universal every couple of Disney trips but starting next year I am staying at Universal to get front of the line and doing 2 days while cutting back on Disney park days and hotel stay.

I have read so many posts that people are unhappy with Magic Bands and lack of new attractions, so will you do Universal or other parks during your trip and cut your days to Disney?

I won't lie; having seen their new hotel, Universal is bringing a good game. I'm due to be visiting WDW in the not too distant future so I'll have wait until I've experienced all the new technology before I make up my mind. The biggest single stumbling block for Universal is still and will likely always be the "courtesty" and "good show" points of service that Disney brings to the party.

...in other words, the theming and staff at Universal still have a long way to go.

What about "No ~ I love FP+ and see no reason to change my usual plans"?

That didn't make the poll?

:rotfl: That's a sad indictment on my part. I didn't even consider that as an option and it probably was something I might have voted for.

I was just going by the various comments I read in the original thread :)

That's good, one less. Person at WDW... Maybe if enough head to Universal...WDW parks will be less crowded...zip personally don't care for Universal... never been, no desire.... no matter what, true to WDW... It has what we enjoy..

Honestly, I like both Universal and Disney. I think they both have their own unique qualities. We went to Universal and Disney in 2012. It was a 4 night stay for each. Personally I think it is great if you can afford the double park tickets but we can't anymore so we will have to do one at a time.

We are going back to Disney this year mainly cause I was able to use rewards points to help keep the cost down. We will enjoy it even if fp+ is not worked out completely.

I do have to say my family does prefer Universal over Disney and after this year we will probably do more Universal trips than Diseny. Disney is still a great trip and I will have to wait till fp+ is completely rolled out to judge it.

Happy planning:)

Money is always a factor. Having said that, I don't think I'd even be interested in going to Universal if it were 100% free. Especially if it took away from WDW time...

I thought I added something on the end of that. I think the real question is, why are people voting for both of them?!

One says and, one just has a comma, guess people are reading a difference in them?

Now that the kids are getting yes we have added 1 day Universal in. Last time we went to Harry Potter and it was above and beyond anything Disney has. I am a Disney nerd and was blown away by HP land. We are trying to decide if we want to go to Universal when we go this October because it will just have opened and will more than likely be crazy busy.

It is too early to say for sure, but I will probably cut a few days off of Disney on our next trip so that we can get over to Universal and check out some of the incredible new attractions they have going.

We are such goobers... haven't even seen any of the "old" Harry Potter stuff yet despite multiple trips to Florida since it opened. I am thinking we will fix that up next time. I can't say it is expressly because I dislike FP+ because I haven't fully experienced it yet. However since perception often equals reality, there is no mistaking that Universal has put a ton of money into new attractions while Disney has been fiddling with wristbands. I surrender! Universal gets some of my money next time!

We go to Universal everytime we go to Florida, spend half our time at Universal and then move on to Disney. We love both parks equally and could never go to one and not the other.

Nope. FP+ does not ruin the magic for us. There is so much more to Disney than the rides. Now I completely understand why you are doing what you are doing but Disney is an ever changing company. I think this year is a bit chaotic because everyone (including cast members!) are getting used to the new system and that takes time and patience.

Do I think it'll be improved? YES! There have already been some changes and I will expect more as it gets closer to our trip.

While I would love to go to Universal to see HP, I really don't have any other desire to be there. It just isn't the same.

have you dealt with cast members recently?

Disney's are getting worse and Universals are getting better. The gap isn't all that far apart.

Only saw the options "because FP+ stinks". Way to skew a poll!;)

My real answer is we ADDED WDW days and BOUGHT an AP because we loved FP+ so much. :wizard: Probably not a poll I will see, but it reflects how our trips have gone. Love Disney, looked at US, no reason to go back to US for several trips now.

We have AP to both Disney and Universal. We do like both parks - but they are different - give a different experience- and we really can't compare them.
We think the Universal AP is better than Disney's - you get a better break on hotel rates, you get a discount on food no matter what time of day or type of venue. Also Universal gives a greater discount on renewal rates than Disney does.
We usually get to Orlando 3-4 times a year staying at Disney from 3-5 days on each visit and 2-3 days staying at Universal.
I don't think we would be interested in the new Universal resort as it does not include Universal's Expess Pass like the other three hotels do. I don't like Disney's fast pass+ as we are not planners- we often decide on a park by playing bus roulette - whichever park bus pulls in first is the park we visit.

Didn't have a category for me to check:

Love Disney and Love Universal, lengthened our trip by three days this time to add two day Universal tickets to the mix!!

Poll is REALLY skewed!!

My family has already decided that at this point Universal is the better use of our money. We are doing our 3rd Universal ONLY trip this winter..We like Disney, but Universal is a relaxing trip ( kind if like WDW was when it was only MK and Epcot)..Plus the Universal resorts and the perks that come with them beat the heck out of WDW..We will still visit WDW, but it is not our destination of choice anymore.
