Who else already has airfare bought for Aug/Sep and what did you pay?

I booked 3 tickets late March - Chicago Ohare to MCO on United, direct flight, 9/24 - 9/30, for $203 each. Best part was, I paid by Diners Club and coverted about 40,000 diners club points to pay this off on my card = so ticket cost = free! My DH has now said he *might* join me for the trip - I checked today and it's now $325 to put him on the same flight with me, DNiece and DNephew!!! I'm waiting for SW flights, and he may be flying out of Midway. My key is looking was not just price but schedule - I wanted an early flight out, and a late flight back. Who know's what will happen with DH's flight and if he'll actually be able to do anything with us on the 1st or last day.

Well, I just checked again and my fares jumped another $20. I am kicking myslef for not booking at $170 when I had a chance. I am now just going to wait for a sale - if one deosnt come by the 45 day mark, we may seriously consider cancelling. DS will be heartbroken, but $500 or more for airfare for the two of us is just twoo much on our budget.

oh Lionqueen, we got the best fare out of DIA to MCO for the same time. Sept. 27- Oct. 2 $150 on Frontier. They have never been so low and it was only available for a short time. I just lucked out and happened to check Travelocity and there it was. :cool1: I booked 4 tickets. I think another DISer from Co posted on this too.

I think I saw this as well, but it was before I booked our free dining trip. The tickets I saw came out to $180.00 each. When did you see this, was it recently??

The lowest airfare I've ever seen non-stop to MCO from DIA was $180.00 on Frontier, of course both times I didn't have a trip booked and it was only released for a short time. Anyway, I like Ted so I'm happy...would've been happier saving $500+ but oh well. Thaks for the info.

Lionqueen- with all fees included the $ was 157. I booked on 4/13. We already had the Dining Plan trip reserved but didn't know how we were going to get to Orlando yet. When I tried to book through Frontier, the price was higher (I hate that) so I went back to Travelocity and bought. Even with their $5 per ticket charge it was cheaper.
I have never flown Ted. I love to rack up the Frontier miles. Only 15K for a free ticket!
Hope you have a great time with free dining. We went last year and it was so fabulous we can't Not go again....especially during Food and Wine. What a deal! :cool1:

Flying Sept 5 to the 12th from Fort Dodge, Iowa (think middle of nowhere puddle jumper plane to Minneapolis) to MSP to MCO for $208 rt per person!

September 3 - 10, EWR - MCO, $89 ea way on Jet Blue; now it's up to $94 -- saved ourselves a whopping $20 by booking early. :)

Flying Airtran Flint to Orlando Nonstop both ways for me and ds it was $314 including taxes and fees. Aug 19-26 :teeth:

Departing - White Plains, NY to MCO - Nonstop - $69. (77.80 inc tax, ea.way)

Leaving from White Plains is SO much easier for us! :woohoo:

I booked AA, LGA/MCO back in Oct 05, paid $175.40/rt.
I looking to book now for next Feb, and the cheapest I've seen so far is $228.00/rt

RT per person was $510, but we're flying from Alaska ;) I purchased about a month ago and rates are about $80 higher so I'm glad I bought when I did.

I thought I would "get a jump" on airfare comparisons and post this thread. I know many of us have our reservations during the Free Dining Promo in Aug/Sept and wanted to have a comparison.

Please post where you're flying from, what airline, dates flying, how many stops, and total price of ticket.

This will help others who are still contemplating, shopping around or wanting to buy early anticipating higher airfare costs. I'll begin...

Denver to MCO - Non Stop- Dep. 9/29 Ret 10/8 - Total cost $304.10-United (Ted)

I got into panic mode when I heard that prices would be going up as soon as 5/1/06. If they go up or down, I don't care, at least it's done :thumbsup2

White Plains, New York to MCO August 31 - September 5. AirTran, non-stop - $217.10.

ETA: Booked today.

Hartford, CT to MCO on SWA Sept 1st to Sept 10th $283 pp round trip including taxes etc. Everyone leaving out of BDL seems to have the same rate. Right now SWA is still the least expensive. All other airlines are over $300. I have been checking the SWA website every day and none of the flights seem to be booking up so hopefully they will have to offer a sale to sell some seats.

For those of you flying out of White Plains, NY - can I bother you all with a few questions?
I'm in NE CT and usually fly out of BDL. I can save 140 a ticket using AirTran so..

Are there hotels near the WP airport that do park/fly specials?

Are there car rental agencies at the airport or nearby so we can return/pick-up a car?

TIA for any help you can offer.

What airline?

Delta Song

Booked mid-October

Early arrival, afternoon departure

JFK - MCO non-stop

$196 pp

US Airways...IPT - MCO 7/29 - 8/5

Purchased early March... $292 pp

Same flights today...$723 pp

We were not planning on going this year till the free dinning came out! :thumbsup2
We usually leave out of Bradley (CT) I was getting prices of $1100 - $1300 for the four of us. I played chicken. I kept searching and came across Airtrans special of $69.00 each way. But we need to leave out of White Plains NY. Which is only about 1.5 hr ride. (worth it to save sooo much money) I had to some rearraning of dates though. We will be arriving on August 12th instead of the 13th and will have to get a room only for that night. On the way back only available flight was coming back at 8am, so we will check out of disney the day before our flight (will still have that whole day) and then just getting a room for the night at the airport. Even with having to get the room the at the begining and the end it still saves ALOT of money. lol
So anyways all 4 of us will be going August 12- 19 and paying $628.40 total with Airtran from White Plains, NY to Orlando!! :cool1:

Sorry for the ramble :teeth:

I'm getting frustrated with my airfare situation. Delta keeps playing games with a non-stop flight out of OKC to MCO. It will be there - then it disappears - then a few days later it reappears. It's disappeared again. I would give up and just book a connecting flight (they're running at just over $300 per person & there are 6 of us...) but DH uses an electric wheelchair and I shudder to think what we would do if his chair got lost or damaged somehow in the connection.

Now we're looking at flying out of DFW (3 hour drive) to get a non-stop. The best we've found out of DFW is $230 per person on American. I don't want to fly American again (bad experience with them last year) but it looks like we're going to have to.
