I hate to say it OP, but they odds aren't looking too good for the men.

Honestly, I didn't take the thread you were referring to as male bashing at all.

I posted on there and people were saying I was Guide bashing and I was not. I think when people read the written word it can be taken how you choose to take it, even though it wasn't meant to come off that way.

And just for the record. I do all the DVC planning (I am a women) :hippie:

Not only do I (wife) do all the planning, I am specifically banned from discussing it with DH. If we are planning to go with another family, I have to talk to them when he's not around. He has started talking about redecorating the basement into a "man-cave", and I have told him that by listening to that, I am earning time to talk about DVC planning!

We both plan trips. DW usually calls MS as I travel more and she is able to call on the 1st day possible. I called and made dining ressies for a summer trip.

I am the Disney person in my household.
When I told him about a minor change in plans (different hotel on arrival night) to our upcoming spring break trip, he didn't even know when we were leaving!

THIS would be us. I do all of the planning and tell DH what dates to write in his calendar for when we'll be gone. This is for all vacations, not just DVC related.

When I'm talking about future trips, he easily gets confused as to which one I am referring to. I usually have so many irons in the fire at the same time that he has a hard time remembering where we are going when, and who is going with us!

It's less women than I would have thought. Only just over half are women who are solely responsible. That means us men are just about half.

In our house it is good combination of both. I suggest where we are going and when we are going. The wife then decides what we are bringing and how we are going to go about getting there.

hubby makes our reservations: room, flight, and car rental.. I'm the one that makes teh 'spreadsheet' with the schedule, meals and reservations.. He makes the plans & I keep us on track.. or so I like to think. :wizard:

Once DH and I agree to dates, I do the rest, which includes booking resort, dining etc...I will run it by him for input but frankly he really doesn't care as long as I do not pre plan too many things. We normally do 1 thing new (tour, golf or something) and 2 TS dinners. Otherwise we wing it! Our trips always end up great!

We discuss as a family what special meals we want and then I (dw) make the calls and get everything booked. family is happy because they get to pick their favorites and they don't have to worry about juggling the itinerary. It works well for us ;)

I do most of the planning. DH has input as to where we are staying and where we are eating, but then I make the reservations and watch the calendar to change from the 11 month window to the 7 month window, 6 months for Dining Reservations, 3 months for Touring, etc... He will typically figure out the route on the drive or air travel though!! We will drive from MN to FL for the first time this June and He has about 3 different routes for us:woohoo:

I make all the calls and actual reservations BUT dh and I discuss everything first.

I do everything pretty much. My dh has very little input into our trips. He always tells "whatever is fine with me". He has never called MS and I don't think he would know exactly what he would say if he did. :rotfl2: He is the type that says "Tell what days I need to take off from work". He is not picky about where we stay or eat or any of that. Oh and let me add.....he has no clue whas most of the DIS coded talk is either. He has seen my emails from Dis friends or DVC/Dis friends and he thinks we speak a different language. LOL

Very similar at our house. My DH does give me ideas about where he would like to eat and some input about timing. But, I am the planner in the house, Disney or otherwise. He could do it if he wanted to, he is certainly competent. Planning trips is just not his thing, at all. He is very happy to go along with the plan once it is formulated though. He's great at getting all the kids up and ready for rope drop!:thumbsup2

I do all the planning only because i'm the sole DVC ower within my family and friends. I'm 26 and single, so each trip, I invite someone else to come along and then plan the trip according to their disney expirence level. This past summer, I brought along my sister (Disney expert), my grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, and little cousins (all first timers), so I planned lots of breaks, top attractions, and character meals. Two weeks ago I went with my sister and we were super comandos complete with deluxe dining.

I do the planning for Disney trips (I'm the wife). I just booked our first DVC stay yesterday, but except for our honeymoon (almost 30 years ago) I've planned all of our other Disney trips. DH wasn't interested in the DVC tour so I went by myself and then patiently waited for the founding member period for VGC to pass. Since I knew we would take almost all of our trips to VGC, I wanted to have all our points there instead of having to purchase in Florida.

I -DW- do all the planning. I also pack for my DH otherwise he would just pack his NHL shirts and golf socks!! Ok maybe he'd pack his bathing suit too! I plan everyday out -with help from my DD [age 31] so we don't stare at each other and say "what do you want to do today?" Always the same response "I don't care whatever you want to do". Now everything is planned parks-meals and of course GOLF TIMES. Everyone gets to pick a place to eat and I'll make the reservations [online now it's great].

DH does all the DVC stuff and I do flights, ADR's, tours, etc. for the most part.
