The WL front desk? I guess I am up the creek and lose my points right??

I'm in the same boat! Hopefully we will get out of here tomorrow and down to sunny Florida!

I guess all you could do is call the front desk. Are you flying? If you miss your flight they maybe able to accomodate you on a later flight. Or even go out Sunday, they should hold your room if you call them.

Good Luck to both of us! :D

From a fellow Pennsylvanian I'm wishing you good-luck getting "home" this weekend ! The snow is falling as I type :(

When we had airline problems, we called the front desk to let them know we were coming but would be late. No problems.

I agree calling MS today is a good idea. Keep DVC posted on what's happening -- for sure call the desk tomorrow if you know you won't be able to make it. In the case of a major storm that shuts down air traffic, DVC will usually be reasonable and not necessarily just cancel your points. The key is to stay in touch with them and not just not show up.

Are you able to switch your tickets to a different airport and drive out of the snowy area?

I would also call MS and see what they can do.

Good luck. Let us know what happens.:D

I heard on the TV news this morning that most airrlines are allowing passengers in the areas expecting snow to leave today if possible without penalty. It may be worth a try to call!
Good luck!

We're flying out of southern NH at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Hopefully the snow will hold off long enough to leave!

Just read the discussions, and I think you'll be fine...you can keep an eye on what the National Weather Service REALLY thinks is going to happen on this site (for the New England area):

http://www.erh.noaa.gov/box/discussions.shtml

You'll want to read the one out of Taunton MA...they cover Southern NH.

These "discussions" are what each NWS office "thinks" is going to happen, they put these up to talk to one another, and all the on-air meteorologists read these...often they're a bit more in-depth as to what doubts or issues they are considering. It's a little technical, but for the most part it'll show you what they think. They generally update these every 8 hrs or so, depending on the new computer model runs that they use to forecast. (Just a little trick to help try to get some insight!)

For Southern NH (I live right next door, in Westford, just over the border!) by 7:30am you *should* be ok - they're going for snow not to even start in that area until midnight...crossing my fingers for you and all your fellow travellers tomorrow!

Can you leave today, even if it's later tonight before the weather gets really bad????

Can you drive to another airport outside of the weather system?

Neat site -- thanks!

We've actually had more problems with our trips home. In Sept 1999 (I think it was '99) we were scheduled to come home the day Hurricane Floyd got to New England (after sitting through it at WDW), and had to postpone our return trip by a day. Two Decembers ago we got home the day of a large ice storm... it took 45 minutes to chip our car out of the ice. That was a rude awakening!

It's whats happening right now.....they said it wouldn't start till tonight....do they ever get it right? It is a downright BLIZZARD!!! I think I will be safe ....my flight is for Tues (12/9) AM....good luck to all those bearing the elements and hope that the sun is shining double duty in the "World" when you get there!!!

It's snowing pretty heavy in the NYC area. Once the NY airports are effected it tends to spiral along the East Coast. Everyone should check with their airlines even if you don't get the "big snow".

I am in the same boat and I just called DVC - she said they all know about the snow storm and noted it in my reservation. she said if we could not get out there tomorrow I would not lose the point but they would go into holding, she recommended calling the resorts directly if we find out the flights are cancelled and she noted "possible late arrival" on our ressies.

good luck and wish us the same!

Good luck to all those trying to get out tomorrow!! Although it doesn't look good as I just watched the news and Philly is having a difficult time getting flights out and more snow is expected as you know. But just think once you do get out you'll be in DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Here's hoping you all got out okay. To those who didn't, there's always Sunday. :)

Hope everyone is able to get out ok. Looks like there are delays in NYC on the news. That stinks. We have about 6-8 inches so far here in upstate NY, they are predicting anywhere from 10-18.

Wish I was in Disney!!!! Good Luck Everyone
