Who bothers with 'the dibb' forums?

.. stumbled across them by accident... they obviously use the same 'templates' etc as these pages.. are they related? They seem somewhat 'cosier' (?) than these forums, but a lot less activity... some of the names look familiar, and some people are obviously registered there as well, as there are identical posts, but user names are different... any reactions or thoughts? Mike.

I'm probably on the dibb more than the Dis. Its a smaller community with a good atmosphere.

Its almost a case of everyone knows everyone else.

With the Dis it has more specialist sections like the resturants etc and because it has so many more people from around the world you get a bigger response/reaction.

Both are excellent sites.

I post on both boards too. As muppet says both are great sources of info and chat and I tend to visit the one straight after the other.

It was started in March 2002 when we lost the UKDIS as a seperate forum. As you have noticed lots of members are on both boards and we do have a close relationship, although totally seperate.

There are some that post the same threads on both boards and thats fine as not everyone visits both.

The DIBB has a bias for UK residents where the DIS is more global.

There is no rivalry between the two sites. Some prefer the DIS some the DIBB. Each one has their place and everyone can choose where they want to post and read etc.

I Post on both the boards, and im actually a sponsor of the DIBB site.
The Dibb is a more relaxed site(no offence meant to anybody), and although not frequented by the amount on here is a very small and friendly site.
Worth a look, you will see names that you reconize!

I have good friends on both boards and both are great sources of information.

I always tend to visit Dis first though!

I use both too, (hubby got fed up with me registering on the boards so he got to choose user name on this one!!!) although I definately post more on DIBB as Cinders Mum, for much the same reasons as stated before, it is friendlier, although more recently I have been sticking to the UK section here, I find some of the other topics, rather...scary, people getting flamed at a misunderstanding..... it just doesn't happen on theUk boards .

Wouldn't like to not be on here either tho..........(cake and eat it!!!)

When I stumbled accross the DIBB is was like finding my friends were having a party without me! I lurk on DIBB but post on DIS.

I too post on both sites, Lisag on Dibb and originally Lisag1 on the Dis!!!

Both are great sites and I've made some great friends through them.

I mainly use the DIS for research on a holiday and occasionally get embroiled in heated discussions on the debate board - tho that has been a little scary of late
Also use the WISH boards and have made some GREAT pals on there!!!

I like the DIBB best tho' cos it is like a cosy, comforting home environment - not so huge and having been to a girlie meet as well, feel like I know them all better

I have the same user cp on the dis and the dibb!
Wish I'd the same experience with email though - I'd had firstnamelastname@iol.ie for years, but recently DH and I changed to get broadband so we had to pick ____@eircom.net It turns out that some other person has the cheek to have the same name as me! Eventually I settled on my postcode at eircom dot net, and it's amazing how many people are impressed with it!
Sorry, I'm going off topic here!
I joined the Disboards first, and then after the crash ended up more on the Dibb boards, but have recently, post broadband lol, started revisiting everywhere I have ever been!
Just to sit on the fence, I love them both!

Iregistered lastnight after seeing this thread, Iwant aware of the DIBB before then.

I have the same Username, same signature, clipart, the lot. Oh, but a better gif under my username, my hero, Homer Simpson (too big to use here).

I haven't really posted yet, but I hope to use it soon for some info.

Only 10 weeks now...
