...non-scale related?? For instance, you walked up the stairs and didn't run out of breath. Or you put on an old shirt that was tight on you before and it was a wee bit looser than before.

Sometimes I think we get obsessed with the scale and use it as a sole measure of our sucess...but let's all try to think of other things we've done this week that are accomplishments as well!

For me, it was yesterday - we had a potluck at work and I fixed baked ziti, one of my favorite dishes. I didn't prepare anything in it low-fat but I did want to have a little bit anyway. So I went into work thinking I would be blowing my points that day, but I was SO proud of myself. There were so many yummy foods and I bypassed all the desserts and just had about 3-4 bites of my ziti, a few bites of a sandwich and lots of veggies (no dip!) AND, I was FULL! This WW thing really works, eh? ;-)

Then, if that wasn't enough, yesterday was my DH's bday and he wanted his favorite - chocolate chip peanut butter cookies. (I love them, too!) I prepared them for him and didn't "sample" any of the dough AND when it was done, I only tried one small bite of it (you have to test taste your stuff, right?)

So that's my non-scale accomplishment for yesterday - I was amazed at the willpower and committment to myself I have to really reach my goal!!

So how about YOU? :)

I found a tin of cookies hidden in our pantry. The really good Lofthouse sugar cookies with the really thick frosting, and I haven't had a single one...yet...it's only been 12 hours...

I actually attended an exercise class (yoga) twice this week. :) Voluntarily. First time in more years than I can remember. Next closest thing I'd done like this was my required dance class in my last semester of college. :)

Oh oh oh, this is a great thread!!!! Congratulations to you for making such smart choices! I know in the past I wouldn't have given a second though to eating cookie dough - you really did a great job!!!

DH was wearing a belt that my parents gave him the last Christmas we had together before we moved to FL (back in 1998). He undid the fastener and pulled the belt tight (not wicked tight, but just tighter than it would go on the last notch) and showed us that he really needs a new belt! His current one is JUST TOO BIG!!!

I was able to run a .5 mile with my sister and carry on a conversation the whole time without gasping for air (I can't run regularly thanks to my wonderful knees, but I figured .5 mile was safe enough!)

I rollerbladed from my house to my parents house. They live about 2.5 miles away from us. I had to cross the road a few times because the silly sidewalk ends in several different places and picks up on the other side of the road. That's the first time I've rollerbladed outside of the safety of our neighborhood. Made it there and back safely! Woo-hoo!

I was able to dry some capri pants in the dryer and put them right on!  I used to never dry any pants in the dryer before, but these are nice and loose on me so I can go ahead and do that now! :smooth:

I really hadn't noticed any changes other than the fact that I actually am liking exercising but today I finally noticed a difference. Almost 2 weeks ago I went and bought some new tank tops at Old Navy. I was disappointed that they were all the stretchy kind and not just plain cotton but since they were on sale I bought several. When i tried them on at home they just looks and felt too small so I was using two of them to either sleep in or wear when I exercised in the basement. Today I looked in the mirror when I woke up and saw that the tank top I had slept in didn't look so bad anymore. I grabbed a fresh one and I'm wearing it today and I don't feel like I look too "fat" in it or uncomfortable wearing it.

Good for all of us on our accomplishments!

For me, if I had to list my biggest accomplishment, it is that I am able to do push-ups (the honest to goodness, up on your toes manly-man kind!) Never in my life had I been able to do more that 3 to 5. Now, I do 100 every other day. I can even do push-ups balanced on one foot while raising my other leg off the floor. Next stop, one handed push-ups - like that o'l geezer Jack Palance did at the Academy Awards!

Keep up the good work everybody!

I went to a wedding yesterday (bloody hot!!!) and all I could think of on the way home was this thread!

Did I eat? Yes - but my chioces were excellent! They had huge platters of cheese & crackers and veggies & dip for starters. I grabbed a plate of carrot sticks!

The main meal was prime rib - I asked for a small slice and did not have the cream sauce. I had the rice pilaf and green beans! I had a bite (!) of DH's chicken.

The dessert buffet was unbelievable! Since wedding cake is my all time favorite thing, I waited for them to cut the cake and had a small piece for-going all the other treasures (I swear they had something like a Zebra Dome from Boma!).

And I danced! I'm big, but I got the music in me, ya know!

So - WISH got me thru another day! Thanks!

Poly Pal - I'm very very impressed that you do 100 manly pushup at a time! everyother day! OMGosh that is awesome! One footed even, you go!

Ok for me - I have started trying on 8s first instead of 12 or 10 :)

I can see my quadricep muscle! Yes, it's there! OK, I have to bend my leg just right and flexing helps, but I can flex it on demand and see it!

I wish I had some great food related bragging rights, but I'm riding on the fence still and trying to just stay OP - maybe next week!

    WOW!!!! How did you do that? How long did it take you to work up to that? Do you do them all at once or take a break in between? WOW! I am working my way up to 20 in a row of the manly-man push ups (can do 12 now, could hardly eek out one about a month or so ago...)

WOW. (in my best bill and ted...) I'm not worth, I'm not worthy!

TigH, you're too funny!

I do 10 sets of 10. In between sets I'm doing 1 ste of crunches, or reverse crunches, or leg lifts, etc. I started doing just 10 push-ups back in April. Even did them on vacation at WDW (thank goodness the carpet at the Polynesian was clean!) Then in June I worked my way up to 20 then 50. Finally one night I just pushed through and did 100. Tiring yes, but I felt so good afterward!

So, to everyone, stick to it and you can reach your goals! If I can, then you can too (of course it took me lots and lots of attempts).
