Which Week in February

We are considering taking a trip in early February. I noticed many hotels have slightly higher rates the week of February 4th than the week of the 11th. We will probably be in the parks Sunday-Wednesday. I was thinking the week of the 4th would be less crowded considering the following week has a 3 day weekend and Valentine's Day, but I also noticed there is a UBM Advanced Manugaturing Expo at the convention center the 5th through 7th.
Which week would be less crowded? Will the convention affect crowds much compared to the following week?

I can only speak in general terms regarding the conventions. For the most part, it doesn't seem like the conventions necessarily increase crowds in the parks. Large conventions are more likely to impacts availability at area hotels/motels and crowds in DTD (primarily in the evenings). There maybe some impacts of the days immediately before or after the conventions, but only a few conventions seem to actually result in Dis'ers reporting higher than expected crowds in the parks themselves (things like D23). The ATX West convention does look large enough to impact hotel availability and pricing, but it doesn't necessarily mean the parks will be busier.

At this point, we don't know much early 2018, but the Superbowl is on Sunday, Feb 4. There have been intermittent reports that the parks are pretty busy on Superbowl Sunday as folks that are not interested in the game think it's a good time to go to DLR.

I think crowds are going to largely depend on whether are any special events and/or special ticket offers happening those two weeks.

we went this year in mid Feb.. crowd were low. with the reg refurb list.. weather was horrible, dont know if it was a fluke or typical.. but we got washed out on our first day.. and we are hard core Washingtonians !!!!! we usually go in April and will go back to that month !!
