I'm planning a trip before Christmas next year. I'm thinking of a week - either Sat to Sat or Sun to Sun. It would be just my husband and I - kids would both be in high school so missing school would not be an option for them. Besides, we could use some couple time. I would be staying in a studio at VWL and I would need to reserve it soon.

So which week you would recommend

Sunday after Thanksgiving for a week - Nov 26 through Dec 3

Sat Dec 2 through Dec 9

Sat Dec 9 through Dec 16

Or something else?

I want to do the Christmas activities and visit Kennedy Space Center.

Thanks

We've been at WDW from 12/18 - 12/ 23 and this past year from 12/9 - 12/14 and for us, I'm guessing there were somewhat fewer crowds at the "earlier in December" dates. I teach and can't get there any earlier than the 9th.

If I could, I would definitely try to go early in the time frame when they have the association meetings. Staying for a week, you'll also catch one of the Merry Mixers if they have them.

One "problem" is that some people find the Pop Warner people to take over the parks, they won't be staying at VWL, but read some of the trip reports for people during the week that ended December 9th. I didn't notice anything annoying at Epcot that day/night, but they were very noisy at the pool, but I was at ASMu and only overlapped with them for 1 night.

This year we stayed at VWL and it was just wonderful. We were just about the only ones who used the pool/whirlpool in the mornings. Our friends had never been to WDW, and we wanted to enjoy the resort as well as the parks. Going to the parks only in the afternoons we were still able to hit the highlights, and even hit seeing the resorts like the Grand Floridian, we all appreciate the free roasted chestnuts that they give there.

When we go in December we normally go the first or second week. This year we went from the 17th through the 23rd. We had a great time but I don't think we'll go again that week. It was really getting busy but the bigger hassle for us was flying that week. We had delays both going out and coming back. I could not believe the security line at MCO. It was half way through the food court at the airport. We have already started our ressies for next year calling day by day and are going on a Monday which we have not done before November 27th and staying for 11 nights. I am sure hoping that last week in November is slow.

We have had great luck in the first week of December. DVC does book quickly for that week, so make your plans as soon as possible.
