I currently have a full- time job as a contract Occupational Health Nurse in a manufacturing facility. I’ve been in this job nearly 12 years. Due to business conditions, my job could become part time or worse case scenario - eliminated.
I am over the age of going back to bedside, clinical nursing. I am thinking of doing something remote either full or part time.
Any suggestions or recommendations from anyone here who is doing a remote nurse job? I’d love to hear about it as I consider what my next chapter may be…

Our health system has “phone triage nurses” mostly for after hours questions. It isn’t necessarily a remote job, but could be a call center within a health system.

Our work comp has nurses they assign to cases on occasion - OP perhaps something along those lines? Our health insurance also offers a telehealth option (simple things - uti's, ear infections - that sorta thing) staffed by nurses who are either doing it over the phone or via video. Perhaps something along those lines?
One of my SIL's is a school nurse, but she still dabbles in concierge nursing - she was working thru a private company, she did stuff like going to patients houses and doing IV lines. Oh - and she said there is such as thing as substitute nurses in the schools - maybe something like that?

Good luck

Insurance companies and health plans usually have departments of nurses who handle utilization management, prior authorizations, and case/care management. Most of those can be remote jobs, computer-based.
