Which Water Park?

We will have one day at a water park next week...would you choose TL or BB and why? We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 girls ages 11 and 9. TIA

I have only been to BB. And why did we chose that one? The bus came. We did not know which one to go to so we decided we would get on the next water park bus & it was BB. Dumb I know but it worked for us

First I want to point out there there is no wrong choice here, no matter what park you pick you will have a blast (Plus remember, there is always next trip to check out the other park ).

But it all depends on what your family enjoys. If you like rides that are a bit faster, and a park that is a bit sunnyer/warmer, go for blizzard beach. The slides there are so fun it will have you running up the stairs (or to the chairlift) for more.

Typoon Lagoon is a bit more layed back and with a bit more shade. Plus TL just opened a new waterslide (Crush and Gusher) this year that seems really fun.

But yeah, no wrong choice here. Maybe you should do just like Kae did

We are going in August and we've decided to go to Typhoon Lagoon (haven't been to either). My main reason is that it sounds like it's more laid back, a beach kind of thing and my kids (10,8,6) aren't too much into the fast slides. Oh, and they thought the snorkeling with sharks sounded fun. I don't think you'll be disappointed in either though!

WE found TL much easier to navigate and liked the theming better. Hope this helps!

We have been to both and overall we prefer Typhoon Lagoon. The tropical themeing, the areas with trees for shade, the wave pool, snorkeling, and the lazy river are the main reasons. If you had teenaged boys I might tell you to try BB, but with two preteen girls I think you would like TL better.

We did both in June. As noted before, it's all about your preference. For better slides and rides, BB is definately the answer. For the better (much better) wave pool, it's TL. Both have nice "Lazy River" attractions, and kiddie areas. The new slides at TL are OK, but we weren't overly impressed with them.

So choices in summary are:

>>>>Wave Pool and Laying out = Typhoon Lagoon.

For us, if we went again, it would be BB.

We went to both waterparks on our trip June 28 - Jul 8th and we had so much more fun at BB. My girls are 10 and 6 and we didn't even go on the fatest slides. I didn't think TL was more laid back. That wave pool sends out 6 foot waves every 90 seconds and literally knocks you over and sends you flying. My husband lost his very expensive sunglasses in the wave pool even with a sunglass strap on. We would have chaulked it up to bad luck, but in our quest to find them we discovered 5 more people who lost their glasses just in the wave pool. Those waves really pummel you and send you flying into other people, and we are a fit couple in our 30's. I don't know how anyone can say that's laid back.

The family raft ride at BB is the longest slide in the country and very very fun. All four of us fit in the raft and my girls wanted to ride it over and over. The family ride at TL has you carrying up your own four person raft(tiring), and the ride is over in 25 seconds. No one wanted to ride it again.

We also had a blast on the BB slides where you ride down on a mat. One is 8 lanes across and this is another slide we rode over and over. All 4 of us could go down at the same time and each time we all laughed so hard. There weren't any slides at TL that we thought were worth waiting in line again for.
Even the lazy river was better at BB. The lazy river was so very crowded at TL that we couldn't move and had to get out because I couldn't take it anymore. And we went on a Tuesday.

Of course this is just my opinion. We had never been to either waterpark and I read that TL was more laid back and was expecting it to be. I certainly didn't think it was and have much better memories of BB.
