We've left a day open to spend at a water park. Now, which one would you all recommend?

Water Mania
Wet N Wild
Typhoon Lagoon
Blizzard Beach
Something Else????

Any thoughts are very much appreciated!

My 2 cents....

Wet and Wild is fun...like any other Wet and Wild etc. across the country. Good slides, but not especially "Themey".

WaterMania is like you'd find in any small town. Not esp. nice or pretty....I used to like it when I was a CM as we could get tix for like 5 bucks or so....but it was pretty good bang for the buck. Very "City Pool" in the theming.

Typhoon Lagoon--best atmosphere/theme, IMHO (I love the whole tropical island theme thing). Not the most slides, but some cool features, and WHAT a wave pool!!!

Blizzard Beach--also very heavily themed...with quite a few more rides/slides than TL.

Depends on what you're looking for/what's important to you. If you're on a shoestring, I'd do WM. Thrill seeking Teenagers? W & W. Heavy themes important/the 'Disney' feel important? TL or BB.

YMMV.

I agree with deetman's assessment. TL and BB are great, and Wet 'n Wild looks like a lot of fun. Water Mania is right on 192, and looks nice, but not on par with the other 3. Cheaper, though, and you can get coupons in the Orlando magazines if you have time to send away for them before your trip.

Ok, so maybe a few more details will help.

1. My travel companion is my 13 year old daughter, who is very adventurous and loves water.
2. We've never done Disney, and have no plans to do any of the Disney parks on this trip, although I'd be ok with being able to experience some Disney Magic. We'll hit DD, but maybe a water park on Disney property will also be fun?
3. $$$ spent to enter isn't an issue. The only issue this vacation is to HAVE FUN!

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Based on your description, I'd say Blizzard Beach all the way! It's very themey and unique, different from what you'd find in most hometowns. Also plenty of thrill rides, as well as some tamer areas that adults love as well.

I might be biased since I've only been to ONE of them, but I'd choose Typhoon Lagoon. I was NOT expecting to enjoy the water park as much as I did! I like this place because it has something for everyone and it FEELS relaxing!

It's lush, it's wet, it's pretty and the music is perfect!

Typhoon Lagoon is the prettiest of the group IMO but Wet & Wild is worth considering too. It depends on what kind of Universal passes you have because sometimes W&W is included. But I would pick either Typhoon Lagoon or W&W if it were me.
