Just wondering what everyone thinks is better water park...blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon?
how late in the year do they stay open?

Not sure about how late they stay open in the year but I love Blizzard Beach. There have more thrill slides in this park and thats what I love. Summit Plummit is my all time favorite. It gives me my adrenaline high for the day. I've been to Typhoon Lagoon and its a more laid back relaxing under a palm tree type.

We will be doing our first water parks this coming trip and since I couldn't decide which one to go to, DH suggested we do both (gotta love the guy :goodvibes). The girls wanted to do BB because it looks so much fun with the ski resort atmosphere, however like PP said, TL looks to be more laid back, something DH and I know will really like, plus we cannot wait to try out the Crush N' Gusher :goodvibes. OP I am so glad you asked this question, because now I am curious to see what everyone else thinks...not that it will sway our decision by any means :rotfl:.

I'm sure you'll get a bunch of people on both sides of this one, and you'll be happy with whichever you pick.

I like them both.

I agree with PP's that it feels to me like BB has more 'stuff'. Our personal favorite is getting 3 or 4 of our group lined up on the Tobbogan Racers and doing as the name implies -- racing to the bottom. With all the other slides and the great lazy river, BB is my favorite by just a hair. And the theming is very unique & fun.

TL has more of a laid-back vibe for me. I love the big wave pool, but my only pet peeve here is that if it's crowded, it seems like everyone goes to the wave pool so it can get crowded. Crush n Gusher is awesome :thumbsup2

You can't go wrong with either, and it's definitely better if you do both! But if I had to pick only one, for me it would be BB.

They both are really fun. However, TL is our favorite for a couple of reasons. It is more relaxed and laid back. The wave pool is fantastic. But the number one reason is you get to swim with sting rays and SHARKS!!! It is the coolest thing.

Our family likes BB. It was the second one built, so they built in more of the automatic delivery systems for the rafts. At BB we felt like the slides were a bit longer and more entertaining. The slides are newer (not made of concrete, but plastic) and had less bumps on the butt.

If I recall, the lazy river at TL has concrete edges that hurt when the crowds force you to even touch it.

We do wish the BB had the large waves that TL has.

I think it depends on the age of your kids. You will love both either way though.

BB has more stuff for tweens to do in their own area. DH and I would park on some chairs in the area (Snow Patrol) and the kids could go off on their own, but we would still be in the same area. BB also has a great kiddie area with slides just for the under 40" (or so) people. They can carry their own tubes and slide by themselves while you watch. All of the slides are longer at BB as is the family raft ride.

TL has the wave pool and swimming with the sharks.

Depends what you're looking for, but imo:

Better kiddie/youth area - BB
Better extreme slides - BB
Better "normal" slides - BB
Better family raft ride - BB

Better sit and relax atmosphere - TL
Better unique slides - TL (Crush n Gusher coaster slides)
Better auxiliary area - TL (swim with sharks)
Better wave pool - TL (outrageously good, BB is basically a pool)

A wash is the lazy river - good at both places.
